Went into the meat department and ordered 3 pounds of the best beef stew meat. Man in charge (African American) told me it would be ready within 15 minutes. Later on, I returned, and the same man asked me what it was I needed. I was a little surprised and concerned when he didn't recognize me as I was shopping on an electric wheelchair for handicap elderly people. But this experience I had three others before with the same man. Immediately I went to the store manager and filed a verbal complaint. Now I shop at Publix. What a difference. read more

Harris Teeter and it's employees remain the same awesome store with good customer service throughout this COVID-19 panic. Sometimes I walk into the store and the produce is completely gone, other days I walk it and it looks as if nothing has changed. The employees are working really really hard to keep up with the impossible demand the customers have been putting on them. Everyday they go to work and put themselves at risk but they still come to work. Thank you to all the employees. You are doing an amazing job. While others get to stay at home, you still show up, stock the shelves, clean the carts, and keep the aisles neat. read more

Alright folks, I'm just going to be honest. I come from the north. You know, where Wegmans rules and nothing is better. When I first moved to the south, I was a bit traumatized. I tried a lot of different grocery stores and continued to be disappointed by the produce, meat, deli, variety, service, etc. However, when I found this location, I started to feel better about my choice to leave Wegmans. The produce, meat, and deli choices are probably the best in Holly Springs. The service, however, could use a little TLC. There are self checkout lanes, which I love, but it doesn't work for every visit (e.g. a cart full of food). I highly recommend having more employees work the regular checkout lanes to avoid long lines. The prices are a little higher than other grocery stores but I take the good with the bad. It's close to home and there's a Starbucks inside. I'm one happy gal when I visit Harris Teeter. read more

This Harris Teeter is the worst one I have been to in NC and SC! I have been a Harris Teeter customer for 20 plus years and this is far the worst. Milk has been spoiled numerous times and I have to return, the produce is bad, the wait at the deli is ridiculous and the employees at this location are rude and not helpful, same with management. The shelves are never stocked and they are out of a lot of stuff as well. I think this location could use new management. I have to say I have never disliked any Harris Teeter and this is the first one, it's closest to my house in Holly Springs but sometimes I will drive all the way to Cary just to go to a different location. read more

I was in this store to cash in coins, then I thought I'd pick up a few things. I went to a cashier named Damarion. I put my 2 items down on the counter right in front of him. He stood there and stared at I don't know what. Did not say a word, I said I have 2 things. No words then started ringing me up. I forgot to type in my phone number and saw the total of my items. I said oh I forgot to type In my number. He just stood there and stared. I went in to get a manager he typed in my number . He asked Damarion what's wrong. He said nothing. Live right across the street and will probably be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I come to HT for only a few key things. Deli meat and chicken. I stood at the Deli counter for way too long about 10 minutes before even being greeted. The attendant did not acknowledge me although I could tell he was busy, a "be with you in a moment" would have made me less annoyed. Meanwhile he was cutting another customers meat he was snacking on the pepperoni, I am unsure if he took off his gloves to put the pieces of pepperoni in his mouth but I thought that was super rude and disgusting considering the pandemic. I recently recieved a delivery that was short 5 items. On the phone I was told all items were in stock but 1. I chose an alternate which made the order complete. I ordered 3 nine inch pies but recieved 2 six inch pies. I was short 1 box of crossaints. I was short 4 pkgs of rice cakes. I was short sanity wipes. I contacted the MOD on the Monday following the incident on the prior Thursday. He seemed nice enough and "listen" to my concerns. He was much more concerned with the missing chicken platter versus his store not being culturally sensitive or caring about minority customers. He said he'd investigate and call me back...I have heard nothing. I did get a response finally from contacting customer service online, I was given a generic apology and a promise of a phone call. Still waiting. I also, was contacted via this site by Harris Teeter and given a long explanation of all the variety they offer (all though this store had not one of these items in house.) To make matters worst they claim they have even more options than I saw in the book for minority characters but yet not ONE of them is available. I am hoping they will make genuine attempts to correct this problem and make things right. If not I will continue not to shop there and bring this issue to every outlet available. This is one of the newer Harris Teeters ... and while it's OK, I'm not fond of the newer "superstore" feel. Bigger doesn't always mean better. This particular store has a generous selection of fresh fruit and vegetables (which is a big deal for me), but the rest of the store is full of the usual grocery bric-a-brac that is neither inspiring nor particularly creative. I'm a fan of the older, smaller stores that felt a bit more intimate and typically had a selection of more creative foodstuffs. read more

But warning: Online shopping usually results in "out of stock" items reported by personal shopper, only to enter the store on the same day (at the time of pick up) to find the same items actually in stock. Defeats the purpose of paying the service charge if you have to help the shoppers find your requested products. Save your money or order from a location that does not do this. read more

I ordered a Birthday Cake for my wife's birthday. This Harris Teeter has always had a very good bakery and we have gone there for years. When I went to pick up the birthday cake it was decorated beautifully. Unfortunately on my wife's birthday when we went to cut the cake for guests almost one half of the cake had NO buttercream in between the layers. Some of us were left with a buttercream "sharing" situation so the layers of the cake would not seem so dry. On the positive side the cake tasted very good and looked great. However, it was obvious someone putting the cake together for our order either ran out of Buttercream or just figured no one would notice! We live a good distance away and are loyal shoppers there for years but going back on short notice and especially on Birthday day was not an option. First time we placed a cake order and was disappointed in the outcome! Make sure they finish your Cake! Especially for Special Occasions! read more

This Teeter is just way too hit or miss. When i first moved to the Holly Springs area, I loved having a Teeter so close by. I've consistently had issues with the produce here. After re-visiting my other grocery options, it seems like this Teeter has the worst produce in the area which is pretty crazy. A word of warning: do not trust the order ahead sub orders. They will forget something 100% of the time. You're much better off to stand in line, walk them through it and make sure you're getting that fab Boar's head sub exactly the way you want it. This store is always insanely crowded and despite the multitude of lines open, there is always a wait. Now for the benefits: plenty of self check out options. Your typical great sales from Teeter that you've come to know and love (buy 2, get 3). Excellent service at the meat counter. Great selection of cheese and wine. And perhaps the best of all is the HT gas station down the street where you get 3 cents or 10 cents off with your rewards card. read more

I usually go here because the produce is nicer than other stores, but yesterday, the foods looked really lackluster and especially the "fresh" green beans were floppy and wrinkled. My daughter was really disappointed that none of the samples had been refilled and it was just mid/late afternoon and the store was still pretty full of the Saturday shoppers. If I'm expected to pay a premium for many items that I can easily get next door at Wal-Mart, then I expect it to keep it up all time, not just when they are slow. (ie: $2+ difference in price for Breyers Ice Cream). read more

Now they have a pharmacy and a Starbucks but continue to have too few check out lanes open with too many people milling around not helping those of us in line because they are all supposed to be working on drive up orders. The floors are always dirty and there is always unstocked merchandise in the aisles. This was our favorite store near us but we keep making more and more stops elsewhere. They manage to compete with the Walmart next door because of their amazing quality and selection of meat and produce. If you shop the items on the perimeter of the store and take advantage of their great sales on everything else, you can save on quality food. That said, try Walmart for cleaning supplies, pets, and any food found in a box. read more

I work at Go Realty Holly Springs just a few doors down from this Harris Teeter, so you can imagine how many times I visit there on a weekly basis. Their soup and salad bar is my favorite. Decent store except produce usually is picked over and deli is the slowest service ever. There is always a line at the deli and they are so slow and always ask customers if they would like a sample of every item they are having cut. It is not unusual to spend 15-20 minutes to get in and out of the deli area. It's very annoying. Also I always ask for HT maple honey ham and they have screwed it up the last two times I have been there. read more

The meat dept is great. Jacob and David great job guys! I always buy from the case. They hook me up with the most awesome meats and they are very patient given the workload they seem to have. The worst deli department, hands down! Every single time I go there my wait time is 10 mins or more and there are only a few people in line. They have six or seven people behind the counter working but they all ignore the people standing in line. I usually go on a week day during the day.
