A minute or two later, it was in front of me - a goblet filled to the salty brim with a well balanced blend of tequila, lime juice, triple sec and ice. Everyone else at the table followed suit, but the service wasn't so instant. More on this later. We were a group of 9, with reservations. The table was nicely located and not off in a corner. There were 2- and 4-tops all around us. Another long table, this one bar height, butted the end of our regular height table. The servers soon separated them for easier access. Goji y Agave is the product of a partnership between a Mexican chef and an Asian one. There are two menus for food, but you can mix and match between them. Several of us ordered a little from each. Few of us could finish our entrees, the portions were so plentiful! An early snag was placing an order for nine drinks at once - the bar was overloaded, and the servers couldn't get them out together. This created a bottleneck where we could see them on the bar, but could not get to them. Folks were thirsty! This repeated when bringing out food. Once the food arrived, it was amazing, but it was a long wait getting all the orders for a large party together and out at once. Fortunately, it was early on a non-weekend night. This review is for their gluten free items!!! Best gluten free Chinese food that you will find in all of Raleigh. They are on top of their sesame chicken. We have been back countless times just for that menu item. The restaurant is extremely clean and the owners are super friendly. It is a unique place that they have Chinese and Mexican food. It makes it really nice for family's that can't decide on what they want to eat. Overall their normal food was pretty good. I liked the portion size and it had good flavor. This place is great. I've done a pick up here as well as a dine in. Always a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They make sure everything is fresh and tailor to allergies. They have great prices meals and beverages. You also get chips and salsa when dining in. Picked up soup the first time and the Second time we got plantains, ceviche, margaritas, and Buddhas delight with shrimp added. At first when I heard Goji was serving Mexican food, but not Mexican Asian fusion, I was a bit confused. When I was presented with two separate menus I was even more confused, but after eating here a few times since they added the Mexican options, I must say that what they're doing very smart because it gives me double the reason to eat here, plus it's great when you're with somebody else and one of you want Asian and the other one wants Mexican, there really is no other place in the area that's serving two separate menus like this. Happened to go here while getting my truck windows tinted across the street. Really unique place l They have multiple menus and 2 kitchens (Japanese fusion and Mexican) . I just had a couple appetizers Bao buns and summer rolls. Bao buns were large and served with tasty sauce. Summer rolls had fresh crispy greens and nice shrimp, served with great sauce. There was only one young man that was waiting on all the tables and seating people and sometimes clearing tables. He did an amazing job, as it was busy and as soon as a table left someone would come in. The decor is very nice and the chairs are comfortable. We drove from N. Raleigh to sample the $2.99 lime Margaritas. We were not disappointed! They were nice and strong (not too strong- just right) and absolutely delicious. They have an extensive menu of both Asian and Mexican food choices. We ate chips and 3 kind of dips but will definitely return for the entrees. We ordered: lettuce wraps, pork dumplings, vegetable spring roll, chicken with garlic sauce, spicy basil fried rice (customized), and broccoli stir fry. Everything we received was good, more on that later. We're kind of rice snob. We literally eat rice almost every night! The rice was pretty good (for the record, I understand Asian recipes typically include short grain rice ). The overall food kinda reminded me of the Durham location of Shiki Sushi (Haven't eaten there recently) back in the day. I think our favorite was the sauce which had a complex vinegar (I mean that in the best way possible) taste. Again, everything was good. In retrospect, we should have tried the Goji Entree, duh! We had an issue, where we didn't receive the appetizers. After 3 calls over a week's time , I think it's resolved. This place is spot on if you are looking for Chinese, Japanese, Thai or Vietnamese food. The service we got from Ken was incredibly friendly and informative. I ordered the Tom Yum soup with shrimp and Singapore Street Noodles. There is a full gluten-free menu and they have a great local craft beer and sake section. They even had Asahi on tap. I like my food spicy, so an extra helpful of chili oil did the trick. The Singapore noodles were spot on and had great helpings of shrimp, chicken and vegetables mixed in, as it should. The curry had a little kick, but not overly spicy. I had to load up the Tom Yum with chili oil. If I don't turn beet red, it's not spicy enough. I will absolutely be going back. The fried dumplings were paper thin and very little filling, the chicken satay was overdone making the chicken hard. I ordered a cup of egg drop soup.
