Stopped in for lunch this week and had a very pleasant experience. The hostess was very nice, seated us in a very clean booth. Tables were set with crisp white tablecloths, waitress was very attentive without being pushy. I ordered shrimp lowmein which was delicious and a very generous portion, had enough to take home for lunch next day. Ambiance was quiet and peaceful. Tea was hot and served by our waitress. Fortune cookies were fresh and tasty. Overall, food, pricing, customer service, ambiance all excellent. We will be back. read more

The worst Chinese food I've ever had! The lo mein was so over cooked and mushy you didn't even need to chew it. The Sichuan/ Szechuan chicken was so bad. What a weird flavor. The Mongolian beef was nasty. I couldn't even taste the beef like they over boiled the meat over and over and there's no more beef flavor left in it. It was so mushy probably from the corn starch. None of these dishes had any flavor! All blah and bland! I'm so angry I paid for this dinner. read more

We came here for dinner for our first time visit. The decor reminds me of something you'd see in Chinatown. It sets the ambience for this type of dining, not just a room filled with tables and chairs. The feel is friendly, and the appetizers are brought to the table immediately; Fried Won Tons and dipping sauce. As well as Won Ton Soup and Oolong Tea, one of my favorites. We went with one of the Family Dinners; Beef Egg Foo Young, Cashew Chicken, Egg Rolls, Chicken Wrapped in Paper, Fried Won Ton and Fried Rice. The choice of a beef egg foo young was a first for us, we usually prefer it with chicken or just vegetables. It wasn't quite as good but still flavorful. Nothing seems overly seasoned here, yet tastes satisfying. We enjoyed the cashew chicken immensely. The food here seems a bit healthier and far less greasy then many of your average Chinese restaurants, and we'd love to return to sample some of the other menu items. read more

I came here for lunch with my parents and sadly wasn't impressed. They start you off with complimentary fried won tons and tea. We then ordered their Chicken in Soothing Lettuce Wraps, which was by far my favorite part of the meal. For the remainder of the meal we each ordered one of their lunch items. All of their lunches came with soup, rice, egg roll and salad. And although plentiful, my Mongolian Beef lunch severely lacked in flavor. With neither the beef nor the vegetables satisfying. In fact I left most of it on my plate. My parents thought their meals of Low Mein and Orange Chicken were just ok. None of us are in a hurry to go back. read more

I'm never coming here again. The first thing that was brought to me was a hot and sour soup and inside the soup their was the longest strand of dark hair. Plus the chips they serve before the food comes out was stale. I left and decided never to come back. read more

I love this Chinese restaurant. I'm a big fan of Chinese food and China Wok is close to where I live so when I get a craving for Chinese food this is my go to place. The food is excellent and the service is great. I really love their version of Egg Foo Young. I love this dish. When I ordered it the first time I was told that they make their version differently. Oh my God, I really like their version. In fact I hate to admit it but I'm addicted to it. I don't like bean sprouts but I wouldn't order this dish without them. I've had both the beef and pork version and I like them both. I'm not sure if they have a shrimp version or combo version but I'm going to ask. Their green beans are really good too. In fact I've had many dishes of theirs and it's all great. I just had lunch and I'm already looking forward to my next meal at China Wok. read more

Affordable little Chinese joint. Sit down restaurant or do take out. I rarely come here but when I do I always get there vegetable lo mein. I have tried there fried shrimp in the appetizers and they were really good, batter was light and airy and the shrimp were jumbo. The sweet and sour sauce, ties it all together. Excellent service and food! We ordered Szechuan shrimp and pork, orange chicken, beef with snow peas, veggie chow mein and steamed veggies. I absolutely love that they have the thick noodles for their chow mein. They were perfectly cooked. I'm a fan of noodles and not everywhere makes them like this. Oh and of course I almost forgot we got the steamed wonton. I also want to mention the food presentation for take out was very good too! I wish I would have taken a picture of it all before I dug in! I was so excited to eat when I brought it home. Just the wonderful aroma from the food in my car was torture to me. I'm a very happy customer and will be back to order again. A few days ago myself and my wife were grocery shopping and lost track of time as usual. Soon we both felt hunger pangs as it was past dinner time. My wife voted for Chinese and selected China Wok on Soledad canyon road as it was the closest. It was nearly 8 p.m when we arrived and ordered some Beef Chop Suey, Chicken with Almonds and Mixed Fried rice. A humble elderly lady took our order and made us comfortable. The Decor was clean homely and welcoming, the aromas of Chinese cuisine were quite inviting so we couldn't wait for the food to arrive. The food arrived quite quick and we both served our plates. The first mouthful was quite disappointing, the almonds in the chicken had a rancid taste to them and the chicken itself was a bit under cooked, the Beef chop suey was still better but the veggies in it lacked the crunch of the stir fry and were quite sad looking and the Mixed fried rice was probably the best of the lot as the shrimps were nice and moist and not chewy at all and the various meats were stir fried well but the over all food was quite bland and we had to request some old faithful chili sauce to add some kick to it. Despite reading good reviews about them I'm quite disappointed with their food. However I'll give them the benefit of doubt and will try something else from the menu the next time and see if they can redeem themselves and come up to the standard that their reviews rate them at. Covid had closed this China Wok for a while and we were sad, but now it's open!!!! By far the best Chinese food in the area. Always fresh and tasty. Won ton soup bowls are to die for and pot stickers are delicious. Honey nut walnut shrimp is a candied treat and the breaded shrimp starters are yummy. We will be back again and again!!!! read more

This is a nice little hidden gem in canyon country! I've actually been going here for quite awhile and because of the pandemic I was hoping to see this place was still open and it was! I arrived and was seated quite quickly and the service was absolutely terrific. I ordered an orange chicken and every single bite had so much flavor just like how I remembered it! If you're looking for Chinese food that isn't expensive but the quality is all there then this is your spot! The food is quite good, and it's Sichuan style, which you don't always find out here. Pretty authentic. The staff is nice enough and they try to be attentive (they are short staffed). As far as the food is concerned it's just ok...it was kind of bland and soggy. Staff was friendly, but food lacked in flavor and the portions were very small. This was our first time ordering food here and we were very dissatisfied. Ordered 2 orders of chicken chow mein and there was 5 tiny pieces of chicken in each tray, plus all the trays were half full and lacked flavor to top it off. The bbq pork fried rice and vegetable soup were really bad. No flavor what so ever!! I don't recommend this place. A waste of money and time for sure. We will stick to Thai food. read more
