We hadn't been here since Covid, but had a taste for their Chinese chicken salad, so we came in for lunch. There is an old saying that says "You can't go home again." This definitely applies here. The salad was very small, commensurate with a small price. It consisted of lettuce, carrots, crispy won ton pieces and a couple of pieces of green onions. No water chestnuts, no slivered almonds, no mandarin oranges and a minuscule amount of chicken. We also ordered the Ha Gow dim sum. Which was very good. The waiter was terse, not friendly, and couldn't say more than a couple of words. I fully realize now why we hadn't been back for so long. The fortune cookies were great!

Listen...Chinese food is a very personal thing. Most people tend to be tied to their OG plates no matter where they go. That being said, I'm a pretty Basic B when it comes to my Chinese food. Do I like curry? Yes, I do, but that's usually reserved for my Thai and Indian outings. Grand Panda's reputation precedes itself and today I decided to drop in for lunch. Dining in, the place is surprisingly small, but the ambiance is nice. Still, you can tell they probably do a lot of takeout orders. I was a little bummed the sesame chicken was not on their lunch menu. Their sizzling rice soup only comes in servings of two or above and since I wanted to try an entree, I had to let that dream go as well. So! Here's what I got: Mongolian Beef Egg Roll Steamed Rice Chinese Chicken Salad Hot & Sour Soup That Hot & Sour Soup was perfectly warmed and had just enough spice to trigger my hiccups. Respect. The Mongolian Beef was more like Mongolian Steak! Great flavor, THICK morsels of meat; a little chewier, but definitely worth the trade-off. Boss. There were also complimentary wonton chips at the table, which is ALWAYS a pleasure. Lunch was great. Stuffed myself silly for less than $25 (tip included). One night, I'm coming back to destroy their dinner menu with my belly.

    Great lunch menu.

We had a early dinner at the Grand Panda on Seco Canyon and Copperhill Road. There were many people waiting for their take out orders, but we didn't have to wait long to get a booth. The food, and service, even on New Year's Eve was wonderful. We were able to take food home for another meal, because the portions were so ample.

I bought Mongolian beef from this place for special event. We found hair in a food which was disgusting. Los Angeles health department Santa Clarita district needs to check this place, specially kitchen. Also I want to complain about customer service, workers don't speak English and they are super rude specially front desk guy. I don't recommend this place at all!

After half a year, I returned to find they'd added new dim sum and roast duck to their menu. Most importantly, the restaurant no longer had that weird smell in the air, so I could finally enjoy the food again. I recommend trying half a roast duck, and for dim sum, go for the shaomai and soup dumplings.

    Rice was cold as delivered.

That's exactly how I felt after taking my boys out for Chinese food at this spot. I nearly didn't write this review because it truly feels like one of those hidden gems you're lucky to discover. From the first bite, it was clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The food carried a noticeable freshness and authentic depth of flavor that immediately stood out. I ordered three staples to get a good sense of the menu: chow fun, fried rice, and walnut shrimp. Each dish delivered. The chow fun had perfectly cooked noodles with that signature wok flavor, savory, balanced, and satisfying. The fried rice was light yet flavorful, with every grain distinct rather than heavy or greasy. And the walnut shrimp was the highlight: crispy shrimp coated in a creamy sauce that hit the right balance of sweet and savory without overwhelming the dish. What impressed me most was the consistency and quality across all three plates. Nothing felt rushed or generic, everything tasted carefully prepared and full of character. In fact, the experience was good enough that I've already returned since that first visit. The menu clearly has more to offer, and I'm looking forward to exploring different dishes each time I come back. Places like this are rare, excellent food, authentic flavor, and the kind of quality that keeps you coming back.

Their online ordering food was good, no problem there…read more The online ordering system asked for a tip, which I did not include, since we were going to pick up the items in person. Then, my eyes moved on to a breakdown of the bill. It included sales tax, of course, AND a service fee of around 7% -- both reflected as a single amount of money on a single line, entitled "Taxes $ Fees"! Maybe the "fees" were for the food cartons and plastic bag? Upon further examination today, this is how they describe the so-called fees: "Support Local Fee" (a flat 99¢) "Surcharges" (a strange percentage) Question -- do customers dining in also see these charges when the bill arrives? Maybe it's time to simply raise menu prices...

Was surprised to find such an authentic spot for Chinese in Oak Park!…read more I came by for a Mother's Day lunch with my family. When we arrived around 1 pm, the restaurant was maybe half full. But clearly it was popular as people were coming in constantly the entire time we were eating. Even though the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, most of the dishes on the menu were more like Sichuan dishes i.e. spicy. All of the food was super solid and portions were ginormous. My recommendation is to order 1 dish per person if you want leftovers, or order one less dish than the # of people if you want to finish most of the food. I don't handle spice very well, so we ordered a mix of spicy and non-spicy dishes. We shared the following: #1 Yunan rice noodles ($16.99) #32 scallion pancake ($8.99) #104 Chong qing fried chicken ($16.99) #107 braised pork belly with buns ($19.99) #109 boiled two items - fish and duck blood ($21.99) Given that the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, we felt like we had to order one of the most popular dishes from that region, the Yunan rice noodles i.e. crossing the bridge noodles. I really enjoyed the silky smooth mixian noodles as well as the flavorful broth. The fried chicken was too spicy for me; I ate one piece and my whole mouth was on fire. Everyone else said it was quite spicy as well, so eat this in moderation unless you can really handle your spice. The 3 pepper signs next to this dish on the menu are no joke! The braised pork belly was delicious, but portions were on the smaller side for this one. Still, I enjoyed making a little bun sandwich with the pork belly and pickled veggies. The boiled fish and duck blood was also super solid. It was just a little spicy, so I was able to manage a couple pieces with the help of rice on the side. Portions were very generous for this dish. We all ate lots of fish and duck blood and still had a ton left to take home. They also have some precooked 涼菜, i.e. cold dishes, on the side you can buy for dine-in or to go. We got 3 of the meats - pork tongue, pork head, and and beef tripe, to go. Paid $16.99 for a huge box of these meats. We thought this was a steal too. Can't wait to try some at home!

We also brought our baby daughter with us. It didn't take long for us to get seated near the sushi chef area. Our waitress was Natalie and she came to get our drinks and appetizers orders first. We just got soda and my wife wanted her spicy garlic edamame. She brought our drink and edamame quick. My wife ordered the Salmon and made it into a dinner meal so it would come with miso soup, salad and brown rice. I got the Mongolian beef and asked for Jasmine rice. Our food took some time to come out, the miso soup and salad came out quick. My wife like the soup but not the salad, I tried it too and they just drenched it with dressing so not good. This was when Natalie went to refill my wife drink and when she came back, it didn't taste like a coke. I tooked multiple attempts to flag her down and she didn't believe me at first that the coke tasted weird. So she didn't even take it and said she'll bring a new one and I also asked for a refill on mine. She came back and said the people in the back is replacing the coke tank since it's emptied. My Mongolian beef was delicious and they were generous with the portion. I loved my dish, my wife salmon also came out but she didn't really like. Natalie came back with just one coke but forgot my refill. The coke she brought was flat so not good. We decided to not even bother anymore. She disappeared again until I flagged her down with another waiter help to asked for the check and boxes. The customer service here was bad and where they sat us, was smokey from the sushi chef area.
