Always a great experience!! Love this place!! The food has always been good and they are very nice. The owner, she has always greeted and welcomed customers, and with a smile. Never have to wait long for a to go order. I was recommended by someone over 20 years ago. This place is one of the best, hands down. The restaurant interior has a nice clean dining area. Recommend their egg drop soup and wonton soup

Quick, delicious, affordable. I like stopping here for dinner after driving south all afternoon on I-5. I get soup and something else to help settle me down from the road. Service is excellent. Portions are generous.

My family had the sizzling beef, yang chow fried rice, and wor wonton soup. Soup didn't come out hot. Also packing in flavor, it was bland. Beef and rice were plentiful and delicious. It's just the soup was on the cold side. Service was adequate. Booth was a little tight. Nice ambiance at night, not too bright, just right, relaxing . I'd go back again soon.

We were seated right away and the servers were friendly. It is a good sized restaurant that was able to seat all 8 of us in 1 table. I forgot to take a picture before we ate, but i took a picture of the empty plates. Lol.

Great Chinese Food in SCV. Still serves tea in a teapot. Portions are huge and price is still reasonable for what everything costs nowadays. You also still get a table mat with your Chinese horoscope and a fortune cookie at the end if you finish your food.

Grand Panda has a lot going for it in terms of service and ambiance, but unfortunately for us, the food was not as good as we wanted it to be, especially relative to other nearby Chinese food spots. We live nearby and were excited to try a non-strip mall Chinese food restaurant. The stand-alone building and up-scale-ish decor on the inside were nice. We loved the little details like pandas etched into the clear dividers between tables. It felt like a nice place to be inside and the staff and our server were friendly. The portions were also quite generous. You're not going to go hungry here. The food however was relatively bland compared to similar dishes we've ordered at other local restaurants. We had a lot leftover to take home and no one was particularly excited about eating the leftovers. (which is unusual in this house for Chinese food!) We're glad they had tofu as an option, but would have also, as vegetarians, enjoyed a faux-meat option to up the offerings for our diets. It's a nice place with nice people...but compared to other places within blocks on the same street, it would be our top to choice to return for Chinese food.

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.

I'm pretty sure the sausage and vegetables were added to the shrimp to equal a pound. I am totally disappointed with this mistake and I see the reason why the restaurant was empty on a Saturday afternoon. There was no way I could have gone back to return the item since I live quite far and I made the mistake of not checking before I left since the girl stapled the bag and sealed the container inside. The shrimp isn't cooked well either. Some of them were cooked for too long while others seemed almost raw. Bad quality.

There were so many that they actually got onto me and inside my clothing. I believe I was even bitten. I immediately jumped up and started trying to get the ants off me, and I actually had to take off my shirt because ants had gotten inside it. What happened next made the situation even more upsetting. As soon as the employee saw what was happening, she quickly came over and started cleaning the seat before I could properly take pictures showing how many ants were there. Even after she cleaned the area, there were still ants on the seat, and I was able to take pictures of them. I explained how serious and uncomfortable the situation was and specifically asked to speak with the manager. The manager did not even come out to speak with me. Instead, the employee told me that I could tell her what I wanted to say and she would tell the manager for me. I find that extremely unprofessional. If a customer is complaining that ants from your seating area got onto their body and inside their clothes, the very least a manager could do is come out and speak to the customer directly. Their solution was to tell me that they could give me food to go. However, I was there for the all-you-can-eat option, so telling me to take food to go was not an appropriate solution. After discovering ants crawling on me and inside my clothing, I obviously did not feel comfortable sitting back down and continuing to eat. I understand that problems can happen at any restaurant, but how you handle the problem matters. There was no manager willing to come speak with me, no reasonable resolution was offered, and I felt like the situation was being brushed aside instead of taken seriously. I have pictures showing ants that were still on the seating area even after the employee cleaned it. This was an extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable experience, and the lack of professionalism from management made it even worse. Based on my experience with both the cleanliness of the seating area and the way my complaint was handled, I would absolutely not recommend this location.
