I had my order delivered by Grubhub. Great delivery. The food absolutely was disgusting. Wontons were soggy, and the actual wonton its self was so thick, filling was gross. Ordered a pork egg roll, got something that smelled disgusting to the point I could not eat it. The wonton soup broth was very good, but the wontons were actually doughy. We ordered 1) Shrimp Chow Mein (large) and Chicken Chow Mein (large) - Both dishes lots and lots and lots of white onions and barely any meat. Shrimp Chow Mein had 5 shrimps (yeah! we counted). We had to take onions out of the dishes and it turned out to be heap load 2) Lo Mein Chicken (large) - They were sneaky. Chicken pieces were "decored" on top of the box and no chicken inside. Not the best I've had but not the worst. I came in for lunch The service was pleasant and timely. The price was dirt cheap, so you get what you pay for and I expected it. Not bad if you just want americanized take out. Wonton soup: The broth was nice. Not laden with sodium and it was laced with strips of roast pork a d chopped scallions. This would have been a nice soup but The dumplings were thick and americanized. They sat in a pot for too long since the dough was browning on some spots. The fried noodles destroyed the soup for me. They were made in house. Had they been fresh and not burned, I would have been a happy camper. They were burnt and had that old grease taste. My soup got traces of that flavor and I didn't finish it. General Tso: The sauce was flavorful. Sadly, the breading made the chicken pieces bigger. Significantly bigger. Pork Fried Rice: With a dash of soy, it was very tasty. Not greasy, no carrots and bean sprouts. Overall: I can't complain. After tax I paid $6.10 for a filling plate and bowl of soup. You get what you pay for and I felt the price justified the quality. By far, the best Chinese place I have been in the West Hanover / Northeastern Harrisburg region. Actually, I have been here twice. The most recent trip was last night on 4/6 when I decided I didn't feel like cooking the dinner I had planned and also had craving for the company of my good friend General Tso and his band of boneless BBQ ribs. Food: The boneless BBQ ribs are very good. Ho Wah still has the best I have ever had because of the unique way they prepare them. They must fire them on the grill a bit to get a unique and smoky char on the tips. Anyway, China Wok's are also very good. They lack that smoky char, but they are always tender and the sauce is on-point. (4 / 4) The General: Excellent. One of the better ones I have had when taking into consideration the sauce, the breading, the chicken, and the overall crispiness. First, at other Chinese joints I sometimes get some weird pieces of chicken with inedible fatty pieces or cartilage (or something else ...). China Wok must prep their chicken better than most places because I have not had that experience. The sauce was mild, but if I wasn't with my daughter I would have asked for it a little spicier. Outside of that though, the sauce was excellent. A fine balance between salty, sweet, and umami. The breading was perfect. Crispy on the outside, yet tender on the inside. This is the highlight of their General. Other places, including Ho Wah fry their chicken a little bit too hard resulting in a little bit of dryness and chewiness in the meat. Not at China Wok. (General 5 / 5) Fried Rice: Under-seasoned. So many places under-season the darn rice! Add some salt to your fried rice! Despite that, the pork and the bean sprouts are nice additions. I like a little egg and scallion (green onion) in mine instead of the traditional white onion. Still, overall it was good, but what I expected (3 / 5) Egg Rolls: Excellent eggrolls. Perfectly fried with plenty of filling. Perfect execution. I always dip mine in the extra General sauce. Yum! (5 / 5) Food: 4 / 5 Service: Each time I have come to China Wok they have provided quick and highly efficient service. Additionally, at most Chinese places when I eat in, they call my order from the counter and I have to go pick it up and bring it to my table. They actually took the time to bring out the food to me and my family. That is a nice added touch that is just respectful Service: 4 / 5 Atmosphere: I have been to some restaurants with an open kitchen where I've look back and was genuinely appalled at what I saw. So much so, that I have even left some establishments. At China Wok, the building and furnishings are definitely old, but that is not to mistaken with uncleanly. It is very well maintained and clean in the restaurant. If I had one complaint, they were eating in the kitchen area in between cooking food. I didn't see any of them wash or sanitize their hands when transitioning from consuming food to cooking food. Despite that, this is a family friendly atmosphere that I feel comfortable eating in. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: $16.32 (including tax) for 2 eggrolls, General, Fried Rice, Boneless Ribs, and a Pepsi. Um, that is freaking amazing. I fed my family of 3 for 5.44 each. That is obviously higher than what I can make at home, but for eating out, that may be one of the least expensive bills I have ever paid to feed all of us. That is excellent! Price: 5 / 5 Final Thoughts: In terms of what you get for your dollar, this place may rank as the best in this region. A combination of excellent and classic Americanized-Chinese food, with above average service, and an excellent price will have me coming here any time I have a craving for Chinese food. The food took over an hour to get and when it got here, it was room temperature. I can even overlook that if the food is good, but it was awful. The chicken for the sweet/sour chicken was chewy and didn't even have a good flavor. The spring rolls were tiny and tasted awful. It's standard Chinese takeout; it does the trick. Worth noting, however, is that the presumed owners, an apparent wife and husband team, are friendly and accommodating. Unaware of their hours, I called for takeout at about two 'till 10. No problem, they said. I got there around quarter after and noticed that they'd closed 15 minutes prior. I would actually rate 3 1/2 stars. Delivery has always been pretty fast. General Tso chicken, sweet & sour chicken and lo mein are good. Have also tried some appetizers. Spring Rolls are good, unfortunately the only way the Crab Rangoon could have had less filling is if it had none at all. They were crisply fried, not greasy but hollow inside with just a very tiny amount of filling. The portions are huge. I can feed 4 people with leftovers for $25. read more

The owners are friendly and accommodating, and our take-out/pick-up is always ready fast. Sorry but I've tried this place twice and no thank you. First time had Kung Pao Chicken. Was not good at all. This time I tried the chicken and broccoli and a small wonton soup. Not sure why the wonton soup is yellow. Never at any chinese restaurant have I seen it yellow. The chicken and broccoli looked nice but had too much soy in it and the sauce was thick.
