I never found out when they were going to open, but it wasn't hard to figure after driving by one day and seeing the parking lot full. And when a place has such a full lot after only being open for a few days... it's something you know you have to check out for yourself! It's small, but really just the right size. When you walk in, they have a large menu above the counter and it's pretty straightforward. We tried a chopped turkey sandwich and a chopped brisket sandwich with a half pound of pork ribs, mac 'n cheese and cole slaw. The indoor dining is very nice and comfortable. It didn't take very long for us to get our order; they have bread, pickles, beans and sauce you can help yourself to. The turkey was okay but it seemed a little dry or overcooked. The brisket is good, but the sandwich is just a little plain. Maybe the brisket is better when you order it sliced. The pork ribs were very interesting. The meat does come right off the rib and for a few of the pieces, it was mostly meat and no bone at all. On the other hand, some of the bones had very little meat on them. The meat was cooked to the point it's almost like jerky. Not in a bad way... the pork ribs are pretty good and just very different from anything I've ever had. Nice spices rubbed into the ribs. The BBQ sauce is pretty watery and not very special. It has some flavor but no punch or spice. The cole slaw is pretty average. I think it needs more vinegar and mayo. But the white cheddar mac 'n cheese is epic! This is not a store bought mac 'n cheese and if you come here, don't miss out! They have pies which we didn't try but I'm sure on our next visit.
