Today, my family and I visited China Wok for some Chinese takeout. We were pleased to see that customers were coming in and out for takeout orders. Despite the busy scene, we managed to grab a table for dine-in. We ordered chicken lo mein, large with extra vegetables, four pieces of chicken wings, and a large hot and sour soup. The chicken wings were crispy, but we felt that they had been fried in old oil, which gave them a darker bone color. My mom taught me that lighter chicken bones indicate freshness, while darker ones suggest that they have been frozen for a while. The noodles were soft and delicious, but they were not long strands as we expected. Instead, they were small little pieces. Although we paid for extra vegetables, we felt that we did not receive as much as we had hoped for. However, the chicken was ample in proportion to the vegetables. We did not try the hot and sour soup at the restaurant because it was served in a large container, and we did not want to eat out of it. When I was on vacation in Sanford Florida. I was out with my family .and we decided to get some Chinese food. And we came across China wok. A Chinese restaurant that the folks in Sanford already knew about. Soon as we walk into the establishment I noticed that the place was very clean. And look like a buffet kinda restaurant would look back in new York. I was like wow this is really a cool looking Chinese restaurant you can see the food through the glass window while they prepare it the trays of food is right there. You have all your sauces duck sauce, soy,mustard for you to use as much as you want.this spot was not a real big restaurant but it was a decent size to sit down it is big enough put it that way . in you have nice size tables and chairs to enjoy your meal.the lady who took our order was very nice and the prices were not bad at all. We didn't stay we decided to take out .I ordered the chicken and broccoli and chicken fried rice along with there cauliflower. And another order of sesame chicken and chicken fried rice with broccoli and egg . The food was made fresh and it had a really good taste to it .the taste was different from nyc Chinese restaurant. Being in Sanford I had the opportunity to try a few different Chinese restaurant and this one was my favorite. They give you a nice portion and the white meat chicken was made absolutely the way I like it ,the food was delicious. Being from new York I can really judge the different Chinese restaurant and other states because in NYC we have so many different Chinese restaurant. While working on a project after-hours with one of my co workers we decided to get some Chinese take out for dinner. I couldn't leave the jobsite so I am unable to provide my experience of the actual venue itself. However, the staff was very friendly over the phone and our food was ready by the time my coworker got to the restaurant to pickup our order. You can order online but need to set up an account at checkout. We decided to call our order in then pick it up since they don't do delivery. I ordered the Chicken Moo Goo Gai Pan with two Egg Rolls. The food was awesome. They made it for me without MSG. Everything was hot and freshly cooked. The only issue was they didn't throw any sauces in the to go bag. My coworker was in a hurry and forgot to check before departure but that's kind of on both parties. Regardless of this minor issue, everything else was on point. We've gotten take out from here for years (China Wok 3). Now, not so much. The last few times were disappointing; the portions have gone down significantly and the prices have gone up quite a bit. Don't mind paying more for the same amount of food as before, but I'd say it's about 1/3 less amount. Egg rolls are barely more than the wrappers, very little filling. Entrees are loaded with carrot. China Wok is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. Their food is amazing!! Like, the beef and broccoli is incredible. I also love the fried rice and lo mein. I have become kind of discouraged that not all of the workers are required to wear masks, even the cooks from what I see. Not bad not great, just ok. New to the area so I thought I'd give this place a try since its convenient. I had the Beef and Broccoli with a Veg Roll. The veggie roll I will say I have no issue with. Like I said the food was ok at best but only because my food tasted like something was missing. The flavor was there but it felt like it was faint. Just not enough for a lack of better words. THe location is pretty clean I will say but the lady at the counter lacked any type of personality. Asking for condiments shouldnt feel like I'm annoying you. read more

Having been in the mood for some Chinese takeout for weeks (and mostly all have been closed due to the COVID-19) when I found out China Wok was open, I headed over to check the menu and place the order. They were extremely busy and had a handful of employees helping with the chaos, which was pretty cool. The food was prepared quick and it wasn't bad. We ordered the sesame chicken combo and the garlic chicken combo (both came with fried rice and an egg roll). And then an order of fried chicken wings. The rice was hard and some grains were not fully cooked. The garlic chicken was just ok but the chicken pieces were very small and not much in quantity. The sesame chicken was good and the egg roll was your average egg roll. All in all it was average Chinese food but I definitely appreciated that they were open for business, quick, and satisfied our Chinese food craving. Not the best but not the worst either. read more

The wings were disgusting and inedible, and the duck tasted as though it was from last week. Threw both dinners away. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special from the picture they had on their menu. It came all separate with no veggies or the nice pineapple sweet glaze sautéed on the chicken. When I asked about the picture and why this came out different they responded by telling me "We do no make it like the picture" I replied "So these pictures are false?" She replied, "Yes, I am sorry" and walked away. I am absolutely disappointed with the level of customer service and will not be returning. No refund for the meal or any care for the customer. By the time we found out it was cancelled, it was too late to order from anywhere else and we had to go hungry. Absolutely unacceptable. Ordered two dishes. Honey chicken with fried rice/veggies and the Kung Pao chicken. Neither of them came out right. The honey chicken had no sauce on it. Kung Pao chicken was still raw. I have visited this place many times before. This place is really busy and the food is really good. What I like about this place is they are smart enough to put Spanish and English speaking people on the phone. I have gone in the evening sometimes and they just one after another with to go orders. We have driven past this place on numerous occasions with nothing more than the lone thought of it's just another Chinese takeout spot. After reading another yelpers review, we decided to check it out. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and while they had plenty of customers, the 'panda express' style selections made ordering quick and easy. I'm not sure of the times when they serve the food this way, but it ensures your meal will be quick if you have to get back to work. The options are many, so don't worry about finding something you'll like. We got 2 items with lo-mein and a soda for about $6.25 each. The noodles were juicy and the meats the same as well as big pieces. While asking for samples to taste, it was hard for them to find pieces that were small enough to stay on the toothpick. I love that you can order online, I always do it that way and within 10 minutes it's ready. The only con is that there is only 2 people that speak fluent English and half the time they're not there. NY Style to these guys mean: 1. Light on the sauce 2. Hurry up with your damn order already 3. Being as friendly as a NY Cab driver. However with the prices and quality of their food, I think I will have to look past their curt attitudes. The only thing I found slightly sub-par was their fried rice, their fried rice was slightly more bland than I am used to, I don't know whether they use MSG or not, but in this case I am sure it would be an improvement. In addition to generous portions, they also have a nice fat eggroll, which a good balance of cabbage and meat. Their Chinese sausage in their Won Ton soup wraps are subdued and not over powered, with a good amount of green onion (not overkill like some places) Their entrees do not disappoint. The General Tso was not overly sweet or overly vinegary, the sauce was right in the middle, where it should be. It was not overly spicy either, some places get carried away with the pepper, for those who really like spicy food you may wish to ask for extra spicy. I am pretty critical of Chinese food, especially after moving and having to leave behind our beloved Chinese spot. Most lunch specials are 4.95 Dinner combination (very healthy portions) are an average of 6.95 (VERY reasonable) with the exception being: General Tso's which is 7.25 I find their prices very acceptable. They have a consistently acceptable quality. They are also conveniently located to those who live at the mall end of Sanford. I will post a more in depth review when I have a chance to more fairly and fully explorer all they have to offer. Oh and if you want to use your credit card for anything that isn't over $5 you can forget it, they won't do it. So if you are getting a quick lunch, have cash on hand. Even after they rang our order up wrong, they refused to correct it, when asked if we could add an entree, is when they stated their credit card policy to us. Luckily we didn't let that snafu ruin our dinner. They are open most nights until 10, and Fri + Sat until 11. PS The actual name of this restaurant is China Wok III. BTW. read more

The food was good. I really enjoyed the food. I got chicken pad Thai and beef and vegetables. I did get it delivered. The pad Thai would've been nice with more flavor. The beef and vegetables were not my favorite. Maybe I should just stop ordering beef and vegetables because I haven't liked one recently. So the food's flavor was a little above average. The main reason this is a3 instead of 4 is because the delivery took over an hour. I ordered it online through Eat24 and it said an estimated time of 50 minutes. I was OK with that until it was over an hour. I called they knew my order exactly and said they needed to get a driver and it would be a half hour. So I waited way too long for my food. I recommend just calling to order. I would still recommend eating here to get your Chinese take out fix. read more
