A nice variety of restaurants and cuisines in an old train depot. We sat at the bar at the far end (The Basin) and I purchased sandwiches to go with the beers we ordered. Sandwiches were tasty and reasonably priced. I had meatball, my wife had a Cuban. I was a little disappointed that the Cuban was not pressed. The bar was pretty empty so service was okay. We heard Henry's Depot in Sanford added a new sushi spot, so of course we had to check it out -- and wow, what a great find! We tried the Mr. Clean (the special of the day) and the Rainbow Roll so we could sample all the different fish. Also grabbed some Hamachi and Tuna nigiri, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, clean, and well-prepared. Ordering from the kiosk was easy, and the chef behind the counter was super helpful, explaining the different rolls and fish and helping us decide what to try. He mentioned the menu will be changing and expanding, so we're already excited to come back for more. First time visit to Henry's Depot provided our opportunity to check out the offerings for lunch. Walk up ordering to various vendors led us to Chin's Asian Fusion Street Fare where we shared a generous portion of Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl and a plate of 3 Philly Egg Rolls. This fast food takeout proved to be a delicious sampling of food and intentions to return to try more. Food was freshly prepared and served hot and tasty. Portions are large enough to share so take a friend. There are other vendors to visit in this old train station food court so it may be several visits to find a favorite. There is a nice tavern on one end to enjoy libations. Certainly a destination for good food. read more

Henry's Depot is a 8,000 square foot food hall in Sanford located in a renovated 140 year old train station. Over two years Sean Kelley patiently renovated and refurbished the old railroad depot into a food hall named after railroad tycoon Henry B. Plant (1819-1899), the founder of the Plant System of railroads and steamboats. In 1887, Plant built the PICO Hotel in Sanford for the accommodation of his railroad and steamship passengers to Central Florida. Restoration features of the old station include a wraparound porch, cupola, and spacious back patio. There is room for seven different restaurants along with a cocktail bar in the caboose of the hall called the Basin where they have live music and special events. The Basin offers a weekday 4-7 PM Happy Hour with discounted beer, wine, and cocktails. Dining and drink choices at Henry's Depot include Sweet and Salty Island Grindz, Greenery Creamery, The Current Seafood, Gateway City Coffee, Pom Pom's Sandwiches, Chin Street Fare, Poke and Pie, and Yugiri Ramen. After careful consideration I had an amazing shrimp Caesar salad from The Current Seafood followed by a black ash coconut ice cream from the Greenery Creamery. I have been to a lot of historic train stations in Florida. Some are still in service, some have been abandoned, and a few are museums, but this is the first one I have come across that has been turned into a food hall. I love all of the special touches throughout like historic photos and the train mural. Henry's Depot does a great job of honoring the history of this building while taking it in a new direction serving up tasty eats and delicious drinks. read more

Everything was so good, I feel I need to come back and try everything Henry's has to offer! The vibe is super chill and there's plenty of seating. They have hightops, bar seating, regular tables, and even cozy couches. There's also outdoor seating, but I didn't notice any covered areas. When we went, there was live music playing, which added to the fun and made the atmosphere even better. Had lunch at bait and hook. Ordered a salad with blackened grouper . The protein portion was slightly ridiculous- for a 10$ add on I expected to receive an actual lunch protein portion. Also ordered a Caesar salad but they didn't have Caesar dressing ? I did not know Pom Pom's opened another location, so I was excited to see it here. The seating areas were plentiful and all around. I ate dinner here today. I was disappointed to see Dharma Fine Vittles/Dixie Dharma was no longer here since I love their food. The pizza place was closed but opened later after we were already eating. Why was only the pizza place closed while all the other micro restaurants were open? I got the huli huli tofu plate from Sweet & Salty Island Grindz. I liked the tofu sauce and was happy to have a vegetarian (plant based) protein option. It was good. It took about 15-20 minutes to make but it is made fresh. I also got a black ash coconut ice cream in a black cone from Greenery Creamery. Delicious! Food here is pretty good, not many places inside that I tried that gave me the WOW factor but the food is decent. I've tried a few of the restaurants including the newest edition being Pollo al fuego (pictured below) and I got a build your own pasta, as well as the quarter chicken that came with choice of rice, beans and they offer additional sides like sweet plantains and others. My pasta had meatballs, Alfredo & marinara sauce, spinach, tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese on top. I've also ate at Pom Poms, the greenery creamery, and Sweet & Salty (my fav place so far) I aim to come back and try the other restrained but overall it's a great place to come if you are with a group of people so not everyone has to get the same choice. Staff at all restaurants have been super friendly and helpful and Henry's depot is overall a clean place to eat at. This was a -1 out of 10. I don't typically write reviews but I hope this will save another family of four from spending any money here. Over $100 for three and a 6 year old and I get food on a plastic tray in paper and styrofoam. Line of 10 people left me without the will to have a beer. Let me bus my tray. Specifically I ate my two fish sticks from Bait & Hook with some nasty salad that I apparently selected on the self-serve kiosk and they couldn't have care less. A children's meal would have had more food. Want a sandwich on white bread they have those priced to equal to my last trip to Publix. I don't know if this place will last at these prices. With how well they preserved the train stop exterior, you'd have no idea that it's been gutted and converted into a modern food hall. Upon entry, we were immediately taken by surprise. I was fully expecting more historical elements preserved inside, like some sort of general store or gift shop to acknowledge the train. NOPE, it looks like any other food hall Decent cuisine variety across the restaurant options, although I felt most were pretty heavy for my taste. Some lots were empty and waiting for new tenants. The end of the hall is a large, stylish bar, where the bulk of the seating is. Other seating is mainly bar seating along each eatery. Pretty clean for the most part, even on a busy lunch afternoon. I came to Henry's Depot a few years back when it first opened. I visited recently and was happy to see that this Sanford food hall was in full swing on a Saturday afternoon! They have booths with pizza, sandwiches, BBQ, seafood, ramen, and ice cream. I love having so many great options in one place! I chose the seafood from Current Seafood Counter and my husband and son had the ramen from Yugiri on our lunch visit. We were both happy with our choices! There was someone helping to clean the tables but there are trash cans so you can clean up yourself. There is a bar called The Basin in the back of the food hall. There are high tops and a couple booths that are first come first served. There is also outside seating. They surprisingly didn't have a lot of local beer on tap, but they had a lot of variety of drinks in general. Henry's Depot is on my list of great places in Sanford grab food and drinks! read more

Stop by the depot for a wide variety of food. We happens to be in the area for a late lunch and Salvatore's came up. We walked into the depot and there were so many choices it was a bit overwhelming. Steam punk is the vibe as the inside is a bit dark. Various types of music are also being played in different areas. Lots of folks coming and going and is definitely a high energy type place. It used to be a railroad station that they made now and into a food hall and then they have a great bar in the back called the basin and the service is amazing. This is a great little food hall in downtown! This used to be a train station and a lot of the decoration is centered around that! Every restaurant here offers something different and there's seating on both ends of the building. Service didn't take long after ordering either! I'm a big fan of food halls. Food halls are basically pop up food counters like a food court but focusing on the mom and pop establishments. See my review on "the works" (Atlanta). So glad food halls are spreading in Central Florida. In SW Volusia and N Seminole counties, "Henry Depot" is a place to start your experience. My rating is not base on food or service but the building with its offerings, atmosphere, cleanliness, and table seating. Right off the bat, when you pull up to this establishment, there ampule parking, nicely painted building, and outdoor seating. I do see handicap parking but I don't see a handicap ramp near it. I could be wrong and the ramp is somewhere else. I had to get my elderly mom up the stairs. As for the building looks, it feels like an old fashion warehouse with a barn look. I like it but for a food hall seems too narrow. There are over 8 pop ups (some were closed) and a main bar area at the back. Inside is very clean and pop ups are tightly bound together. There aren't too many tables except for the back bar area and outside seating. In CF, it rains a lot so we need a lot of inside seating/table. The hall is pretty narrow. Since the pop ups are located by each wall, the hall needs to accommodate people waiting in line and normal traffic. If your handicap, go on days in less peak hours. One comment at the bar area at the end, there are a bunch of tables but unsure if it restricted to just the bar. If not, they can add more pop ups. Which leads to my next topic, the variety of the pop ups. It's a good variety of pop ups with pizzas, seafood, Japanese, Hawaiian, etc. Unsure if the pop ups are permanent or if there are pop ups that will be rotating. I hope rotating because that's the main appeal of a food hall, otherwise, it's a food court. Overall, henry depot is a good place and a good start. read more

If you have kids under the age of 5 good luck because there are zero kid friendly options. I kick myself for even thinking of coming here before going to Elevate. I wa shopping to find something semi healthy for my 3 year old. We needed up ordering the Huli Huli Chicken Lunch Plate from the Island/Hawaiian place. It took 40 mins to get our food (two grilled chicken breasts with sauce, rice, and a weird macaroni salad). This is food I could have made in my air fryer in 20 mins. It took so long my son ended up getting his way and had ice cream for lunch. The depot was interesting. Old train station repurposed. Multiple stalls with a large assortment of cuisines. Nice bar with bar top seating, music, plus tables and nicely arranged upholstered couches and chairs. A good spot for a glass of wine. We only had an appetizer and it was good, but to be honest we really went for the Ramon noodles.
