This place almost has it all. They were fast, the food arrived early and hot. Our order was clearly labelled and they got everything correct. The price was unbelievable (in a good way) and they sent us all the free extras you'd expect. The portions were huge! The only drawback was the fried rice. The recipe they use must be heavy on the soy sauce or something, but in any case its not like the fried rice everywhere else. It has a sort of caramelized taste, which is not bad but also not what I expect in a fried rice. I've had it twice now, so its something of an acquired taste. Over the last few years my family has ordered from China Wok at least two times a month, if not three. For the most part the food is good, there have been other times it hasn't been. Our typical orders are two combinations - sweet and sour chicken with fried rice while the second combo meal switches between cashew chicken or meat and broccoli with fried rice. We also get cream cheese Rangoon. Some occasions the service lacked and the taste of the dishes suffered. Like overcooked or under stuffed Rangoons or undercooked meat in the meals. Looks like there may be a sincere decline happening. Our last trip was not good at all. The lo neon noodles were mushy, dumplings were over cooked, and sweet and sour chicken portion was small. We ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and wonton/egg drop soup. The sweet and sour chicken was good. The fried rice was BURNT!! How in the world do you burn rice??! It was inedible, right in the garbage... the soup was just weird. I always get wonton/egg drop soup (from many different places). This was NOT like anything I've ever had.. it was the wrong color, consistency, and taste. Now, the wontons - THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE MEAT INSIDE! Just a folded up noodle! Don't bother. We thought we might have found a decent place to go. Boy, was I wrong. First, the bill was 25% higher than prices on their Facebook page. Second, the box the food came in fell apart in my car as I picked it up once I got home. Third, the pork fried rice (see pic attached) had nothing but rice. No egg. No scallion or any vegetable of any kind. No PORK. They may have done us an actual favor as the food was not good. The gravy for the chicken egg foo young had more lumps than gravy. Ick. Lastly, when I called to verbalize my issues, the woman said the site was 10 years old. I said, it's your site!! Egg roll was nasty. Chicken fingers were just pieces of sweet and sour chicken. I ended up throwing out once I got that one bad bite. Yuck . Didn't finish the balance of the food. The only thing that actually was eaten was the wonton soup. The absolute WORST Chinese food I have eaten! Wonton. Soup: Big wontons with no filling, watery, flavorless broth. Hot & Sour Soup: dark brown drek which tasted like a bowl of vinegar. Sweet & Sour Shrimp: Stale shrimp and rancid batter. Shrimp & Chinese Vegetables: Small not very fresh shrimp, overcooked broccoli which was a drab olive green. Crab Rangoon - Rancid! And - the place is a dump! I can't understand a good review for this place unless you are mixing it up with another Chinese Wok restaurant in Cleveland that gets rave reviews. This is one of the WORST Chinese food i EVER had in my life. I ordered Szechuan chicken, the color was PINK and watery with some strange vegetable i could not recognize. Didn't taste anything like szechuan chicken.Shrimp fried rice had plain yellow rice with only tiny shrimps ( no carrot,bean sprouts,onion,peas etc). Lastly, I ordered chicken wings. i saw they put raw FROZEN chicken wings into deep frier. Within 5 minutes wings were ready. Apparently, wings were undercooked and bloody. I took a bite only and how to throw out. Price was ok but was not cheap. I believe owner is putting up other reviews other than Chris M. The lady at the front register was rude. It was slightly yellow, with some scraggly pieces of very white chicken and a few sprouts. So. Bland. No flavor whatsoever. Shrimp lo mein: meh. Could've used more shrimp. The flavor was ok-ish. Beef and broccoli: beef was very tender, broccoli was very fresh, but again NO flavor, especially no Chinese flavor. Egg drop soup: and again...NO FLAVOR. When I order (american) Chinese food, I usually expect some hint of (american) Chinese flavor. Will NEVER order again, I'll be sticking to No. 1 Chinese, which may not be perfect but at least had (American) Chinese flavor. And I must add, the only reason they still have a decent number of stars is because for some reason the many other negative reviews have not been posted. It's a very basic take-out place. I wouldn't actually eat there even though they do have 2 tables. The staff was very nice but the food was very uneven. We really liked the crab rangoon and the pork lo mein. The chicken fried rice was OK too. I Yelped for Chinese delivery in the North Olmsted OH area and this place was the most highly rated, so I gave it a shot. I ordered the shrimp egg rolls, egg drop soup and the Kung Pao chicken. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive (which is exactly what they told me on the phone when I placed my order) and it was actually piping hot when it arrived....yeah! They even delivered it right to my hotel room....double yeah!! The egg rolls were good, the soup was really good, and the Kung Pao was great (albeit very spicy).
