The new owners of this place have really impressed me. I believe they've been here a while but I've yet to leave a review since their acquisition. The amount of food and depth of flavor from this take out joint just amazes me. I got full just looking at all of this deliciousness and when I tasted it, I was shocked. It tastes like the authenticity of an upscale Shanghai restaurant straight outta China. So we got the combo chop suey, never had it before but I highly recommend it. Very tasty! The bourbon chicken is delish and beyond my expectations...the entire container was FULL with no fluff underneath making it look plentiful. We got a pint and a quart of house rice and you could barely tell the difference because they both were very full. The quart was a bit heavier I'll say lol and lastly we got the sweet and sour combo (chicken, pork and shrimp). The jumbo shrimp weren't jumbo at all and they were overcooked. The others were good. Their pickup service isn't bad. I placed the order online and while it was a pretty seamless process, I couldn't pay online. Oh well, such is life. I love this restaurant for quick and inexpensive Chinese food takeout. They are located in an unassuming strip mall next to a Walmart, and from the outside it doesn't look like much. If you can overlook the lack of ambiance, you'll find that the food is actually quite good -- prices even better. The restaurant is run by a family, so don't be surprised if a child is taking orders when you call. This is a family establishment, which I can appreciate. I also like how they have the kitchen roped off with plexiglass, post covid. As far as the food goes, I really like it. They have some of the best egg rolls I've had in the area and their portions are big. I often spend about $30 on 8 egg rolls, 2 entrees and rice for a my family of four. The crab in the crab fried rice and lo Mein are imitation crab that you can find at your local Walmart in those little seapaks snacks. I threw up trying to eat this slop. The crab Rangoon is overly sweet and nasty, the Chinese donuts are really greasy with hard sugar crusted on top. The fact that they automatically assume that black ppl don't eat with chopsticks is beyond me. It's just very disrespectful. The egg rolls are greasy and has entirely tooo much hard cabbage. This had to be the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The mandarin chicken looked more like Chicken Fried Steak. The fried rice was not much better than just plain rice. The lo mein was decent, but there was very little crab in it. Even the sesame chicken left a lot to be desired. I will never eat there again. read more

The lady behind the counter was fairly friendly. Also the time it took from when I placed my order to when it was done was about 10 minutes. The food was pretty good. I ordered the sweet and sour pork combo plate. The sweet and sour pork was pretty good.Te shrimp fried rice that came with it was even better. But I felt the best Item was the egg roll. That egg roll was off the chain! What I really like about it is the fact that most of their combo plates are about $7.25. The decor is what you would expect in most Chinese take out spots, Simple and not lavish. They even have a few video poker machines if Gambling is your thing. This may be as good as it gets for Chinese in LA. I've tried a ton of chinese restaurants in and around New Orleans and it stops here. Located in a small strip mall next to walmart supermarket. It isnt in a congested area so it doesn't get much visibility. It looks like your typical chinese take out spot but bigger and cleaner. Even have 2 TVs to watch while you wait or dine. They have all of the staples and some dishes I havent seen. The food is consistently good. Orange chicken, general's chicken, sesame chicken, hot and spicy shrimp. Never greasy always hot and fresh. The combo plates are cheap. $7? While it isnt a TON of food like some chinese places, it is plenty of food. I never finish my whole plate. It comes with shrimp fried rice and an eggroll. If you eat in, food comes on real plates with real silverware. No styrofoam containers here. The food and service here is better than most sit down chinese restaurants I've been to in New Orleans. This place could eaisly take down some of the bigger boys in town (not so happiness...I'm looking at you). Very good food. Inexpensive. Clean. Fast. Friendly. We've eaten from here a lot, and this past time we ordered left a lot to be desired! We ordered the orange chicken and while the sauce had a nice taste their was little to no chicken inside all of that batter, and most of the pieces had a gooey center... We called them and the lady asked me to bring the food back so that she could see the food... They were nice enough to replace the food with sweet and sour chicken which is always pretty good, and has actual pieces of chicken under all the batter... A couple of things that were disturbing were 1) the cook took out his phone and was doing something with it and then put it back into his pockets and resumed handling food without washing his hands... 2) they had a young child still in his school uniform who must've been a relative of one of the workers, and he was running all over the kitchen area... Also, the restaurant wasn't scheduled to open until 12:00 pm that day, however, they were kind enough to take my order before opening and I was able to pick it up before 12:00 pm.
