The food was good and had a good flavor. I ordered shrimp and brocolli with shrimp fried rice and a vegetable egg roll for $10. The egg roll was sooooo good, and wasn't oily. The veggies were crunchy and good and the sauce that came on it was not too salty. If you don't like a lot of sauce on your food you may want to request less sauce or ask them to put it on the side.... I found that it came with a lot of sauce. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 star rating is because the inside of the restaurant was off putting. The restaurant was under construction and had a moist/ mildew smell. The kitchen was not clean and Iooked unsanitary. It was my first time going to this place. I don't think I'll go back just based off of how the inside looked. read more

Terrible service and terrible food. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately taken aback by how dirty the restaurant was. It isn't a place you can go sit and have a meal. Just a carry out restaurant with a few tables and chairs. There was trash all over the floor, the tables and chairs. Restaurant had not been cleaned in weeks and showed. My son really wanted to order so we proceeded to the counter to order. There was no appreciation for the customer or the money being spend. Very caviler and borderline rude when taking order. We ended up getting shrimp lo mein and honey chicken. Both subpar and not worth any money. I would NOT recommend this location. Save your money. read more

I'll start by saying I've been eating here once or twice a month for 2 years now and have enjoyed it. This last visit I got pepper steak and onions with shrimp fried rice, and halfway through eating the rice I found a used band-aid in my rice. It is shaped as if it fell off of a finger. They of course denied that it came from one of their employees and did not do much to make up for the incident. The only reason they aren't getting 1 star is because of how many times I've eaten here with no problems. I stopped here for a quick take-out dinner on a cold, rainy night. I was pleasantly surprised and wished it was closer to my house! I ordered General Tso's chicken and Orange Chicken and both were delicious and super fresh!! The rice was tasty and moist. I gave my eggroll to my friend so I can't vouch for that, but all in all is was a great experience. I went in to order and my food was ready about 15 minutes later. The inside is a little rough, but I'm not going to judge because it's obviously a small family operation and I wasn't eating in so it's not my problem. If you're looking for "real" gourmet Chinese food, keep moving. But if you want a great, fresh, affordable, neighborhood-type takeout Chinese joint, this is your place. read more

Nope. Nope. Nope. I happened to try this one day when I had about 45 minutes to kill and happened to be in the area. No cars in the parking lot usually means it's not going to go well. This was one of those times. I walked in and there was a table of Asian people (Well that's a great sign, right?). When they saw me, they all slowly got up and went into the kitchen. Oops. That was the staff. With great trepidation and not enough time to go elsewhere, I put in my order. While I stood by the chair (Wasn't about to sit in that nasty thing.) and waited (a looong wait) a couple came in. Neither of them ordered first. Both looked at me...then asked if I'd give them some money. WTF?? I tried to be polite and told them I only had a credit card. The women then asked if I would buy her lunch. Double WTF!?? Um., No. They turned around and left. The entire time the woman at the counter just watches and didn't say a word. I'm guessing that happens often. I finally got my food and left, Despite everything I still went to eat the food. I've never seen Mongolian beef that was orange. First bite told me it wasn't what I ordered and I could not tell you what it was supposed to be by taste. I'm not completely convinced it WAS Chinese food. I'm not even completely convinced it was food. After reading about it having one of the worst Health department records in the area, it makes more sense. But how do you stay in business with that bad a score and that terribly a level of food? read more

Friendly service and the vegetables were good - but honestly some of the lowest quality beef and chicken that I've ever eaten.

Called in for a takeout order around 7pm. I was told it would be about 15 minutes, but I was tied up at work and didn't arrive until nearly 7:30. I walked in and was told my order wasn't ready yet, so I paid and waited 5 more minutes or so while more customers came in and sat down. I wish I could say it was 100% totally worth it, but it wasn't. To be fair, my General Tso chicken was very hot and crispy, and the sauce was less sweet than other locations (which I really appreciated), but the broccoli and carrot I often associate with the dish was nowhere to be found, and the shrimp fried rice was unfortunately bland-- I ended up pouring the dregs of the chicken sauce over the rice. I have yet to find really top-notch Chinese takeout (yes, I know General Tso chicken is not traditional, but it is on nearly every takeout menu in America) in Nola and this was on par with many, so I can't be too critical. I might visit again if I were passing by and really hankering for Chinese food, but if I'm going out of my way for it, I have a few other places I prefer. read more

I ordered Mandarin chicken it looked weird and when I tried to eat it I almost threw up. That was not chicken I can tell you that . Within 30 minutes from the time I placed the call, I had two steaming hot takeout containers filled with shrimp and broccoli, chicken lo mein, and shrimp fried rice, along with a cup of hot and sour soup, delivered to my room (they brought it straight to my ROOM, ya'll) at the Brent House Hotel. First off, don't listen to these other reviewers. I've noticed that some Yelpers love mentioning details that are completely irrelevant and don't pertain to the quality and taste of the food, when I'm pretty sure that's the most important part of a review (e.g; solicited by a bum and somehow that's the restaurant/employee's fault? Seriously??) Anyway, back to quality and taste - the food was amazing!! The shrimp were HUGE and fresh! My veggies were super crunchy, Lo mein noodles were delicious, and the fried rice had the perfect ratio of sauce/veggies to rice (not salty at all)! Now if this place could deliver all the way to Uptown, it would be a dream come true!! 10/10 would recommend - I'll be driving across town next time I'm in the mood for some good Chinese! read more

I used to live by this place. I only went there a few times but I noticed that they were never consistent with the food or even the service. I live around the corner from this restaurant. It has been there since what seems like forever. Whenever we are hungry and tired and do not feel like going out or cooking, or if I am in a big hurry, we order some food from here. It is your typical Chinese place. Quality is decent. Decor is nothing to write about. Sometimes the place smells a bit like cleaning solution. I never eat here but know quite a few people that have and like it. It is very close to Ochsner Hospital and a lot of the nurses and staff come here for lunch. At night, it is always pretty empty, which could account for that smell I am talking about. Maybe they start cleaning the floors at night when I go in to pick up my food. The service is always pretty snappy and served with a smile. I like this place and I try to sponsor it when I can. If you are looking for some quick, inexpensive Chinese food this place will fit the bill. read more

For what it is, I think it's great. I've ordered here to-go three times and every meal has had good portions at a great price. I also didn't find the place to be "nasty" as some other dramatic hipster yelpers have seemed to put it. Best eats in easy walking distance of Ochsner. They're one of the older "Generic Dragon" Chinese places around here.

The food is better than many places across town especially dishes that use shrimp .....the shrimp are not the orange pinkish shrimp they use big real shrimp which is a plus for me the staff is pleasant and the food is good the place is always clean. Been doing take out here for a few years. It's pretty consistent..food is good, not great great, but good enough for a quick hot meal. Prices are very affordable and the platters are stuffed. We usually have left overs easily. Costumer service is friendly, but not particularly warm. Delivery would make this place near perfect. read more
