Yes, I have kidney disease stage 4. They cook my item without salt.if possible. They are very nice people. The service is fast and pleasant. Food without salt would not be the average diners dish. Not sure what's been going on lately but the chicken has been fried to the point it taste like rubber. Either too fried or it's being refried. I Got this for dinner last night and me and my wife ended up with food poisoning, had a "fun" time.

This place has gone down in their quality of food. Also skimp on ingredients. They used to be very good. Not anymore. I got a hot and sour soup which I love. Now it's an egg drop soup with a couple of sliced mushrooms and about 4 carrot slices. So sad. I returned it for a refund. Lost my business. This has happened for the last 3-4 months now. Each time I've been dissatisfied.it used to be a loaded hearty soup. What happened? Skimp on ingredients and it looses it's quality.. also looses customers like me. Really good food! better than most Chinese food restaurants in Kenner. They give you a great amount of sauces here.

I absolutely love the dumplings from here! My fav go to for the steamed ones . I love how they always put the sauce on the side. The customer service is fantastic, The pricing is reasonable, and the food is good! What more could you ask for? I haven't tried the other menu items unfortunately except for the pork egg roll which was very good as well. If you're into dumplings I would def check these out! read more

Rating Red Apple as a take out Chinese restaurant, it is pretty good. Nice soups and egg rolls. Rice is good as well. We have only tried a few entrees but they were yummy. Keep in mind this is a take out based restaurant, so as long as that's what you expect, you probably won't be disappointed! read more

This is definitely what you might consider your average Chinese take-out shop, but it will do in a pinch! I ordered from the "diet" section of the menu since I didn't want anything too heavy. I got the shrimp with baby corn and broccoli. It came with a light, tangy sauce on the side and some white rice. It was simple and just what I needed. The egg drop soup was good too. The only thing I didn't like were the fried noodles that came with the egg drop soup. They were a little stale. Other than that, I thought the shop was clean and accommodating, even if it is a little out-dated. The gentleman at the register was polite too. I thought the energy of the diety, General Guan, was interesting too. I really like it when shops and restaurants have shrines or some sacred space because I used to work as a psychic and it makes me feel right at home. I really got the impression that they take care of him too with offerings, etc. The energy in the restaurant is very protected and safe because of the General, but maybe a little too masculine. I think if they found a way to balance the space with a little more feminine energy, they might see a little more cash flow, but that's just my intuition... read more

It's your typical hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, order & pay at the counter and they'll alert you to grab your food from the counter, when it's ready. Great food, BTW; however, if you have an MSG sensitivity (be aware because it is used in the food). We ordered fried dumplings (potstickers), fried rice and moo-shoo pork. My 2 favorites was the moo-shoo pork and the fried dumplings. Super yummy! The restaurant is a bit runned-down, but it is still pretty clean. They sell some odd-ended stuff: t-shirts, jewelry, etc. The food came out quickly and we ordered more than enough for our group of 4 + had leftovers. I don't have that big of an appetite, so I ate a couple potstickers, a couple moo-shoo wraps and a bit of fried rice and I was done. We were outta there within 45 minutes and back on the road. This is not my first time here but I thought I'd write a review. I ordered take-out and, as usual, it was ready when I got there. I ordered spring rolls and they are always delicious. For my main course I ordered shrimp and broccoli. The shrimps were huge, broccoli fresh and plentiful, stir-fried together in a flavorful red sauce with steamed white rice. Delish!! I wish I could give zero stars. The food was just plain gross. Crab rangoon cream cheese was curdled. Fried rice was tasteless. Sweet and sour pork didn't come with any pineapples or bell peppers. Even though the Kenner restaurant is only a mile from home, we hadn't eaten here before. It's listed as having delivery, but when called they explain that you have to order through a delivery service (eg. door dash, grub hub) so we decided to pick up. It was hot and ready in 15 min as promised. The seafood combination was beautiful and abundant; large shrimp, scallops and crab with broccoli, onions, snow peas, baby corn and rice. We ordered pork fried rice in place of white. Everything was fresh and tasty except the crab which was imitation crab that had the consistency of jello with no taste. The house special lo mein was very good and not greasy like some other places. It had a ton of pork, beef, chicken and shrimp with some veggies. The best was the overstuffed dumplings; we ordered them steamed and they were a meal by themselves. We will go back again but note that condiments are not automatic; you have to request them but we found that none were needed, not even soy sauce. read more

I give it 3.5 stars for the quality of the food, and a bonus half star for affordability and speedy service. I've been a customer for nearly a decade. There are tables for dining in, but the bulk of the restaurant's business is take out. Worth special mention is that the beef (such as In Pepper Steak and Onions) is leaner and more tender than what you typically get in a modestly priced Chinese restaurant. I gave it three stars based on the fact this was my first time here and it didn't blow me away. But for what it is, a traditional take out Chinese restaurant, it isn't bad. Our regular go to place, Little Chinatown, was closed for a few days, so we gave this one a shot. The dumplings were tasty and homemade, though it smelled a little burnt when we opened the box. Might have been fried a tad it too much, but thefts or was there so it was fine. The moo shu shrimp was good and they add their own pancakes, which is rare for most take out restaurants that serve store bought versions. The crab rangoons were okay, again, typical take out. The egg rolls were good, nothing to write home about, but overall were tasty and didn't disappoint. The sesame beef was good as well. You get what you pay for here, pretty good food at a very reasonable price and huge portions. The girl at the counter was very nice and helpful. I come here all the time for lunch and dinner. My kids always love coming with me to pick up the order because the workers always give them extra fortune cookies. My kids are picky eaters and yet haven't had a dish from here they didn't like. I have lived up and down Williams and even with other, closer Chinese restaurants (there are several on Williams Blvd) I always will come here. The friendly, prompt service and good food is consistent and reliable. I especially like their Crab Rangoons and Beef dishes. This was possibly The Best, Hands down, I repeat, THE best- Pork Fried Rice ever made in the history of Pork Fried Rice. It was so good infact, just the smell didnt allow me to leave the parking lot without trying my to-go order. And then I even forgot to put the normal 4 packs of Soy Sauce on my rice that is normally required back at my Jam in Texas. I asked for a small tweek on adding some extra of one item and he did it perfectly. It didnt affect the amazing taste one way or the other. I just like a little extra of the item. Kung Pow chicken was amazing as well and I bet the eggrolls send me into the rumored "Chinese Food Coma". The one negative thing I take from this experience....what the heck have I been eating back home and how can they call it chinese food cause Red Apple just treated me to food heaven .
