I found this place on DoorDash, but when I saw how close they were to my motel, I said, "why pay DoorDash prices? So I just came down to order to go. A simple restaurant, but it's very clean, and the employees were very friendly. They also have a few Oregon "video lottery" machines just off the lobby, if you want to try your luck. I figured I'd blow a few bucks while I was waiting for my food. I put seven dollars into a video slot machine, five minutes later, I walked out with 20. It paid for most of my dinner. :) The portions were extremely generous. I had a cup of the wonton soup, and the chicken lettuce wraps. The wonton soup was delicious, the wontons were tender, and the meat inside was delicious! There was also cabbage, , carrot, and even water chestnuts. The lettuce wraps were also very good. The lettuce was fresh, and the filling was amazing. The chicken was tender and delicious, all of the veggies were very crisp and flavorful. There wasn't a lot of sauce, but what there was I loved. I had one lettuce wrap, and I discovered that while the lettuce was good, I preferred the filling without it. I had enough leftover for breakfast the following morning. The price was Very reasonable. Highlights: Hot & sour soup is excellent-it is perfectly hot and sour as opposed to other places where it's just mild & boring. Service is excellent. Food is very good. My wife and I were customers of Chi's for over 12 years plus and we loved Chi's. We loved Nikki, the former owner. Chi's was not just a typical business in Roseburg but a great place for family and friends to enjoy time together eating great food served by Nikki and her family. Nikki is a wonderful person and we loved her food. It was a stable in Roseburg for many of us living here. As you can imagine, when you love a business like Chi's that had a strong foothold in the Roseburg community, it was hard to say goodbye. And visiting twice in a week to the new Chinese Garden, we were not disappointed. Without changing the interior decor, an extremely down to earth server sat us down and introduced herself as "Dan". Or Dana, whatever was easiest to remember for us. Dan handed us new menus and explained that her mother and father owned a Chinese Restaurant in the state of Washington. Dan took the time to explain the new menu and was able to give us a quick rundown what was going on with the new restaurant since Chi's sold the former business to her brother. We were big fans of Chi's and of course wondered how good this was going to be. We ordered a half order of fried crab puffs, General Tsao chicken, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup for me and egg drop soup for my wife. Also, green bean chicken and Kung Pow Chicken. We ordered all of this food, knowing that would be taken home 90% of it. Also, Inwas traveling for business and wanted to take food to California for my Mom. Not being able to eat as much as I used, I ate General Tsao, Mongolian Beef and fried rice. The Tsao's was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The Mongolian Beef was so delicious and easy to chew. Lots of sautéed onions were included which added to the flavor profile of the dish. The beef was a choice cut and it made a difference. The hot and sour soup was different than Chi's which I loved and missed but Chinese Garden's was also delicious but not so sweet as Chi's. My wife loved the Green Bean Chicken and egg drop soup. I loved the heat in the dishes but I'm very happy with any dish with plenty of heat. It was not overpowering at all but my wife is kind of shy to anything with chili but she loved the food. Although my wife thought it was spicy, it was till very edible and delicious!! I was so happy to have had the opportunity to eat twice here this week! I'll be sure to try the Kung Pow Chicken today. We had so much food to take home and Dan was so easy to talk to and you could feel the passion her and her family has for their new Chinese Restaurant here in Roseburg. This is the only place I've ever been to that had eggrolls which actively tasted BAD. I mean repellently-bad too; soggy cabbage, super greasy, WAY oversized (like the size of a small burrito) and I had concerns over the quality of the protein trapped within the greasy layers of possibly-stale wrapper and vegetable matter... Really dislike this place, do not recommend. Go to Chen's instead or probably anywhere other than this place. I think McDonald's would've been a less unpleasant experience. read more

Been eating here for 25+ years. Management changed, food still bomb. Prices are still on point too! My son and I had our usual, 25 bucks for two. It is now Chinese Garden Restaurant, no longer Chi's. The food is much improved with the new owners. Hot and sour soup is much better, more flavor and tangy... soo good. The chow mein is improved also, flavorful with just the right crunchiness, not soggy. Orange chicken is very good. And so much friendlier than before. Happy people and good service. Chi's is now Chinese Garden and while the restaurant has been updated with new carpeting and tables, ther food and service are so bad neither my wife will ever go back. The menu items we always got at Chi's with dark sauce were always great. However, the same menu items now taste pasty. We live in Eugene and used to go to Chi's as a special occasion. We will never return as the Chinese Garden's food is tasteless. They need to get the cook back from Chi's. read more

Food is pretty good. But when I order through door dash, I always ask "If possible no fried shrimp and just more Mar Far chicken or Mongolian beef. They don't give me any fried shrimp but then they only give me the same size order or chicken and even less Mongolian beef than what's in a normal order (3 to 4 tiny pieces of beef and all onions and crunchy noodles). Hi. I just stopped by Chi's for some take out. The beautiful, young lady who took my order had some of the best customer service I have experienced in a very long time. I told her I would be waiting in my car as I had my puppy with me. She said she would bring it out to me. And she did! I wish I had gotten her name. Thank you, young lady. The main dish with the pork , veggies, and sauce did not have a flavor I could recognized. And the fried rice was a bit off as well. The portions and price were fine, but the food was just so so.
