I decided to give a new place a chance while on my lunch break and I'm so glad I did. Stepping into this restaurant I was greeted very nicely they made me feel very welcomed. The gentleman was very patient with me seeing as though I had no idea what I wanted to eat and he talked me through the menu until I decided what I wanted. He was very attentive as well as a nice lady greeted me when she saw me waiting for my food. My food came out hot and in a timely manner just as promised. Everything was very tasty and definitely homemade and I loved that. My veggies tasted very fresh and crisp just like I like it along with the tender beef and my rice was awesome . Also the egg roll had a good crispy crunch to it. I Will definitely be back again to try different menu items. read more

I have never written a restaurant/food review, but I had to tonight. Really wanted Chinese food for mother's day so I didn't have to cook, our normal place was closed and with all the great reviews I thought "why not?"... I really should have just cooked today and saved the $60. This was the worst Chinese food we have ever had. The lo mein (both beef and chicken) was disturbing: There was an odd smell that none of us could identify, minimal color difference between the two meats and they both tasted essentially the same (leaving a very odd aftertaste). Both full containers are now residing at the bottom of the trash. RIP. The crab rangoon was nice and crispy but tasted metallic: while there was a creamy texture you could taste neither crab nor the cream cheese. I am still not sure how to describe the taste. The eggrolls were somewhat passable and I made it through half of one before that aftertaste was back.. The sweet and sour chicken was "ok", but would have preferred the sauce on the side as it was soggy (my fault for not asking). My daughter is now locked and crying in the bathroom in full meltdown mode and is afraid she is going to get food poisoning. My son is heating up a microwave pizza for dinner *yum*. And I am sitting here lamenting our wasted money and my poor decision making skills. Happy Mother's day to all. read more

Absolutely a hidden gem! The outfit is small and quaint. The lady who handled my pick up was very sweet and welcoming! The food was hot and delicious! I was already skeptical when my wife decided this was the place to get take out from on a Saturday night. She got the chicken broccoli and I got the beef broccoli. Just an ok meal, I probably would have enjoyed something along the same lines that came frozen in a bag. I left it on the counter uneaten. Then to kind of top off the meal we had switched steamed rice for veggie fried rice which ended up being pork fried rice and smelled bad. I have a few different choices from Egg Fu Young to War Shui Guy, my husband always gets sweet and sour chicken. We don't normally order soup so have no idea in that. We've been going there for years, and the couple who own it couldn't be nicer. We hadn't been in maybe two years once, and when I walked in she greeted me and asked about my daughter. They've been open since the 1970's and in my opinion have the best hot and sour soup in town. Their dumplings: fried or steamed are delicious and the leftover sauce complements the hot and sour soup well. The fried rice is also delicious, especially the bbq pork. read more

TL;DR review: Amazing quality for the price, will definately go again for take-out. I read a couple one-star reviews of this place before I ever tasted it. I have no idea how they arrived at those scores. I ordered the Kung-Po Chicken, and it was good. Not the best, but good. I also ordered the crab rangoon, and that was different. It's not quite as sweet as I'm used to, but it wasn't fishy or gross like some others I've had. Know what would have made it stand out as REALLY good? Sweet and sour sauce. The sides that came with my $5.50 lunch special were an egg roll and fried rice. Those were stand-outs whereas other take-out chinese places have really bland rice indistinguishable from styrofoam and obviously frozen, underfried egg rolls. Let me take a minute here to state that I'm not all that confident in my palate to know the difference between fried and fresh. Chinese Kitchen's egg rolls *taste* fresh. The ingredients are in chunks rather than being in heaps of glop that tastes homogenous. The outside shell is crispy rather than being flat and stale. It's hot, and very flavorful instead of being just "egg roll" enough to be able to put it on the menu to justify a higher price - like a throw-away egg roll. I feel much the same way about the fried rice too, because there were actual chunks of meat in it. It was an actual dish instead of something to hold a place on your plate so that someone could say "what? you wanted rice, that's technically rice..." when you went to complain. I will visit again, probably try a different entree, and will order a side of sweet and sour to go with the rangoon. read more

First off I will start with saying, we do not eat out, I cook and bake from scratch. When I'm in Little Rock THIS is the place. Very clean. Love the owners. Been going here for over 25 or so years, or maybe longer. Absolutely delicious. The egg rolls are from scratch. The special fried rice is honestly absolutely out of this world. My favorite is the shrimp. My husband loves the steak meals. The egg drop soup um YUM!! Plus I have done my research and healthy meals. I do not know of any better place in the state of Arkansas that has this place beat, no way and I'm a very picky person. You're really missing out by not eating here. They give you sO MUCH, like I get lunch plus supper from one meal, not counting eating a meal when I get home. But again the shrimp is so juicy and big pieces, and the veggies oh my!! I haven been here in years and only remember one really bad meal that made me stop going. But I really wanted Chinese take-out not the faux and overpriced fancy frozen food you get at PF Chang and or Pei Wei. I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered two entrees, fried rice, and 4 egg rolls. Everything was piping hot and tasty. My broccoli shrimp was the star of the meal--tasty shrimp and plenty of fresh broccoli that was crisp and green. The only thing I didn't like was that they used canned mushrooms instead of fresh. There was enough food for two dinners and two lunches!!! I will return! read more

I have bought takeout at this Chinese restaurant for over 15 years, have always liked their spicy dishes, especially the Kung Pow Beef. The non-spicy menu is also great, due to the fresh vegetables used. They make both types of dishes stand out. Great take out Chinese food at a good price. It's a little place with a couple of tables but it's really a take out place, I always get the pineapple chicken that's very good and kind of different. We checked out this joint for the first time last night on a recommendation from a friend. We were more than impressed. Great pricing for huge portions. I would agree with other reviewers that the egg rolls and fried rice had a different taste. It was sort of nutmeg like. Overall I would say we look forward to returning. My husband had the sesame chicken which is not on the menu but man was it good! I had sweet and sour pork. My only suggestion since you ask for the sauce on the side. I don't know if they will do it but it would have made my experience just a little better since it is take out only. read more

Absolutely the best Chinese food period!!! My family and I have been eating here for years. As a matter of fact, this is the only Chinese place we will ever dine. Trust me, I have eaten at tons of Chinese restaurants, but I am always disappointed because they don't ever compare to Chinese Kitchen. I live in Connecticut, currently. I'm eating Chinese food now from another Chinese restaurant, but I'm still thinking about how much better Chinese Kitchen is than the places here in Connecticut and anywhere else for that matter. They have the best egg rolls!!! The egg roll dipping sauce is sweet and compliments the egg rolls perfectly. The fried chicken, shrimp fried rice and egg rolls is my dinner of choice. I am a southern fellow, so we know good cuisine and this is it!!! If you really want great Chinese food that tastes better than any other Chinese food, this is the pace to go.
