I travel for work almost every week and love Chinese so I get it a lot when I'm traveling. I was staying at a nearby hotel as I was flying out the next day and saw this restaurant on yelp. So I called in a carry out order and got beef and broccoli, egg rolls (came in a 2 pack), steamed dumplings and upgraded the rice that came with my beef and broccoli to chicken fried rice for $1. The meal was amazing. The beef was so tender and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. Plenty of both but what really made it outstanding was the flavor and texture of the brown sauce in the beef and broccoli entree. It was so flavorful and nice and thick so it stuck to the food well. I've had some that are as runny as water and this was perfect. The steamed dumplings were great too and the egg rolls were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The fried rice was flavorful with plenty of ingredients and moist. The serving sizes were full and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. I highly recommend. Oh, and everything cost $25. I've had restaurants that charge that much just for the beef and broccoli and won't let you upgrade the fried rice that comes with it. read more

I called 10-15 minutes before driving through Little Rock and expected to have to wait 45+ minutes. However, the food was ready as soon as I got there. The entire process was extremely easy. Fan of this place. Stopped by on a work trip because I like "sketchy" and "divey places." Pleasantly surprised. I'm not a meat eater so I can't speak to that. They do a lunch buffet and the prices seem reasonable. Simple indoor area. Tables and chairs. Buffet counter. Televisions showing CNN. A fish tank. That's is pretty much. Get your food to go or for inside. Also do a drive through if you want pick up/order ahead. Portions for to go are slightly larger but it's nothing wildly notable. Probably a few more scoops of rice. Maybe some more chicken. Ample parking. Right off the freeway. Building looks a little dated as well as inside decor but the food is great. Got the vegetable fried rice and spring rolls. Nice presentation and very tasty. Only 6/7 bucks so theta a steal. Came back in the evening for the same and the egg drop soup which was better than most. Not sure if it's a destination around town. Good Chinese buffet that is a reasonable price but still has quality offerings. The buffet is small but what they do have on the buffet, is done well. Food is hot, fresh and has good flavor unlike other buffets where it seems like everything tastes the same. Good variety of steamed and fried offerings on the buffet. My favorites are the Mongolian Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli. One of the better Chinese buffet options in the city of Little Rock Ordering off the menu is very good as well. This place is awful! I don't understand how it gets four stars when there's so many other Chinese places that is much better than this one. I went a couple of weeks ago to get some Chinese food to go since I was on lunch break and it was the closest Chinese restaurant nearby. The lady at the cash register spent 20mins having a lengthy conversation with two ladies and not taking in consideration that other people was standing in line waiting to pay. I tried to get her attention of me paying for my meal but she ignored me and kept on talking. I finally had to leave the plate on the table and walked out the door due to me being back to work from my lunch on time. Today (4/17/2017), I decided to go early to beat the lunch crowd and deciding to make another attempt of grabbing some Chinese food to go since I worked nearby. When I told the same lady who normally be at the cash register about checking out, she rudely yelled at me stating, "You need to look at the buffet before you get a to go box since you place the container down on a table last time and wasting food," and walked to the kitchen without giving me a chance to explained to her what happened. She got a lot of nerves to expect someone to wait 20mins in line on their lunch break having a lengthy conversation with some customers and then get a bad attitude about it. I come here all the time on lunch to dine in and even get some things to go. But after this experience, I doubt I will ever return here again nor would I recommend anybody else to come here. With dozens of Chinese restaurants in Little Rock (including the downtown area) you don't have to spend your money at places who provide you with a bad attitude. I mean there food is not that good and the place is dirty looking. If you want Chinese buffet food, try places like Asia Grill or China Plus Buffet where the food is quite tasty and your money, time, and gas is being appreciated. If you want non-Chinese buffet restaurants, I recommend trying Fulin's, Chi's Restaurant, Aw Lins, or even PF Changs. Stay away from this rat-infested piece of dump!!! read more

The plate was very neat .indicating pride in their presentation and it was not skimpy~ was a lot of food! I'm giving China Garden five stars based in part on a cost-benefit analysis. This is quite possibly the best Chinese food in Little Rock (Fulin is it's only competition), but there is much better Chinese in larger cities. However, when four people can eat their fill for dinner, all the the food is on a continuum from decent to excellent, and the bill comes to $29, I think you have to go 5 stars. The Tofu and Mixed Vegetables stands out, as does the Kung Pao Chicken (unlike any Kung Pao I've ever had in either China and the U.S., but delicious nonetheless). The Lo Mein is a solid choice, and the beef here is not rubbery (or only slightly), as it so often is in American Chinese restaurants. As I understand it, this place is recently under new ownership, and it has made a turn for the better. If you like Chinese food, give China Garden a try. read more
