He took the time to answer every one of my questions, (and I had many) without making me feel rushed, and he was honest about what he knew versus what couldn't be determined until treatment begins. That level of transparency meant a great deal to me. I came into my appointment feeling overwhelmed and anxious after receiving very different opinions elsewhere. Instead of rushing to a conclusion, Dr. Wu carefully reviewed everything, explained my options, and developed a thoughtful, conservative plan based on preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. I truly appreciated that his recommendations were guided by what was best for me--not by the most aggressive treatment. While this was only my first visit, I left feeling hopeful instead of defeated. That alone says a lot. His kindness, patience, and professionalism made an incredibly stressful situation feel manageable. I look forward to continuing my care with Dr. Wu!

Very easy to relate with. The dental assistants make you feel relaxed. They go over everything they do , with you to make you feel comfortable. Then there's Dr. Shawn, what a professional at his job. I'm a 62 year old man, and the biggest baby when it comes to dental work. It took me a few years to build up the nerves just to go see the dentist. After 6 implants, I kick myself for not coming sooner. It was so easy and painless. Dr. Shawn went over everything in detail, we made a plan , and he did the work. I can finally eat on my right side. But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.

Since then Ive been in search of a…read morenew dentist and come to the conclusion that the quality of work at innovative smiles is sub par at best, so far 2 of the root canals that I've had done here i have to have re done at another dentist office on account of the first dentist not doing the root canal procedure correctly. So even now months after I've been here I'm still be screwed by the work that they've done. Don't go here go any place else other than here or expect to have the work redone in a few months.
