Chinook Services did a great job. The 2 guys that showed up were friendly and on time. They explained to me what they were doing and told me what they were spraying on the roof to kill the moss. They were very efficient at what they did. My only issue was when they cleaned my gutters the windows got very dirty and they did not clean them off. One of the windows is on the upper floor and hard to get to. I did not have the windows cleaned as part of my service though. Maybe something to consider for next time. read more

I had a "premium roof cleaning" service done (the 5 yr guarantee) to remove some moderate moss coverage and clean my gutters. Additionally I had my windows cleaned as well. This was in early May, it is now August. The crew was friendly enough, but forgot towels to clean my window, so one person had to travel back to get them once they arrived. They did their work, and later that day I got a call that they used the wrong solution of cleaner to kill the moss. They rescheduled and came out a few days later. some of the re-spray then splashed on my freshly cleaned windows. The cleaner they use smells like straight up bleach. If I had any slight smell aversion to strong cleaners I would not have been able to be around my house for over 3 days. I felt bad letting my kids be outside. I believe it took over a week for the moss to actually die, which was longer than I was hoping for. And then I was told that the rain/ wind would just blow the away. It has been over three months and my roof still looks awful, it now looks like tumbleweeds instead of green moss. I am so annoyed at spending $600+ for bleach and an unclean roof. I had Chinook Services come out to clean my roof with their environmentally safe, biodegradable product that is supposed to be applied to avoid runoff according to their online information and they carelessly applied a solution that burned all of my plantings surrounding the house, from destroying berry bushes and newly planted ground cover, to serious damage to well-established wisteria, maple, honoki, gingko, and japanese maple trees. We had clogged gutters and needed help. They sent Thomas and Andrew (?) and they did a great job! We ordered the premium service, so they cleaned the outside of the gutters as well. They made sure the windows below were not streaked or dirty, even though we had not ordered a window wash. Thomas had the window squeegee "swirl" technique down! Chinook Services was there when I needed! I called to schedule gutter cleaning. They were very responsive, professional, kind and friendly. They called me to ask if they could arrive earlier than promised as they had completely a previous job early. That was fine with me! Upon arrival, it appeared that the on line quote was not quite right, due to the size of my house (three stories). They immediately called and let me know of the price change, and asked if I was still interested in having the work completed or not. I was, of course, relying on the online quote, but it's reasonable to understand that my tall house would require additional time and resources. They did their research and used a technique and products recommended by the asphalt roofing association. Gentle on the roof, but you have to be patient on results. 2 bedroom, 2 floor carpet cleaning @ $300. The guy was awesome, showed up early and called my cell phone to get set-up. He was super nice and helpful the entire time providing tips and education - both appreciated. At the end, he was honest and fair. The only gripe I had was that the office attempted to charge me $400 and I had to get the on-site guru involved to fix the price issue. We recently had our windows done by Chinook Services. The customer service was exceptional and very friendly. They arrived on time and cleaned all our windows for a fair price. After a few days gone by we noticed some steaks on our 2nd story vaulted windows and I called chinook to let them know and they had a team out the next day to fix the streaks. We purchased xmas lights from this company last year which was very expensive compared to other places. I asked a variety of questions about take down and installation. I was quote one price and told the install the following year was to be wayyyyy less because all trimming etc would already be done. When lights we installed ( last year) there were many issues: flickering lights, ends of lights not being capped, and installation was a mess. The lights were literally stapled down the front of our house with extension cords visible. It looked horrible. I called many times last year and tried to have them rework the installation location which they said they would do at an additional cost. I also informed them of my disappointment in the work seeing as we paid so much. Apologies were made and they confirmed that the installation price for this year 2020 would not be as much and that credits and install would be fixed this year however they never offered to fix their messy install ( unless I paid for it). Fast forward to this year.....the installers that came did a great job this time. They actually said they were appalled at the people that installed them last year ( mind you it was the same company) and that they were shocked the ends of the lights hadn't been dipped or capped. They were also surprised at where they had been stapled to the front of the house last year and said that was not an appealing place to have them and they did't understand why it was done that way. Once they installed the lights looked great. Much more attention to detail and seemed like a completely different quality ( I would have thought a totally different company). Our invoice and conversations with them last year 2019 guaranteed an install price that was pretty decent. Fast forward to our bill arriving and the install was half the cost of buying a new set of lights from them. This was NOT what I had been told install was going to be last year. I called as soon as the invoice came which was a month ago ( Nov. 18th). I kept being told I would get a call back and they understood. I literally have called about 8 times over the past four weeks trying to get this invoice adjusted and to talk to someone and every time I am told I will be called back and they understood. To say I extremely disappointed in this company is an understatement. I am appalled at their dishonesty and the workmanship from year to year. What I was told by the owner last year and what I am being told this year is totally different. I am a person that gladly pays for what I got but when I feel I am being taken advantage of I am not okay with that. We will NEVER use this company again. Including to take down the lights they put up. It is very disheartening that a company whose website says customer satisfaction guaranteed is so absent in responding to a concern from a customer and does not even call back for 4 weeks ( yes one person called back to say they would call back ....which didn't happen so I had to call again.....). I hope others have better luck with them. We had high hopes and unfortunately are disappointed especially to add this to another thing for 2020. I called another company first (got an online bid) and when they arrived they didn't have the equipment needed, tried to upcharge me 3x the original quote, and wanted me to reschedule. So, I requested a bid with Chinook. They couldn't qoute me online due to the pitch of my roof, but sent someone out right away to take a look. The bid came in a little under the original quote from the first company (for a superior service!) and I scheduled right away. They arrived a little early and started work right away. Great experience from start to finish while breaking it into 3 parts. Part 1. They reached out to me very quickly, and gave me a good estimate which ended up being spot on. I told them up front that I had not had the gutters cleaned in some time and he added extra time for that. People who wrote bad reviews because of quotes being off need to ask themselves if they gave enough detailed information. Quality info in, will get you quality results. 2. We had to reschedule due to the gutters being frozen ( It didn't even occur to me that it could happen). They actually came to the house to determine this, they didn't just look at the weather report and say "Hey, we can't do it" 3. The day of they showed up 5 minutes early and worked hard. My Golden retriever was barking at them for a while and they were very friendly to her. She eventually calmed down and all was good. Our regular roof cleaner was backed up for the entire summer, and I found Chinook on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Their online scheduling system was a breeze to use, and I was provided with an immediate quote for the work I wanted completed based on the square footage of the house, roof condition (my perception of it anyway), and the roof elevation/angle. It appreciated knowing in advance what I would expect to pay for the services, and I received several follow-up confirmations via phone and email about the scheduled work date and time. They were prompt, friendly, and professional, and Sean (the gentleman who inspected the roof) gave me a report on what he saw on the roof. I was thrilled when he came down about halfway through the job to let me know that things were looking better up there than I had anticipated, and he knocked a good chunk of money off of the price - so they get an A+ for integrity as well! The worse customer service by their rep Nicole. I bought a deal on Angie's List to have our gutter's cleaned for $129. The service went fine, but be careful about billing. They will charge you A LOT extra if your house is more than 1800 square feet and base this calculation on Zillow (and not county records or Redfin). I got a bill for an additional $65 b/c Zillow said my house is 2280 square feet. I told their rep that Zillow is including unfinished parts of the house and the actual square footage is 1770 and sent her the county records and the Redfin data. Didn't matter to them. If I had known that the square footage calculation of Zillow would be the end all, be all above county records or even Redfin, then I would not have used their service. Lesson learned. As a follow up, I asked Nicole their customer service rep to reconsider the additional fee b/c King County records, Redfin and now Zillow state that our home is 1770 square feet. She responded basically too bad b/c Zillow is not a reliable source. What? She just said they rely upon Zillow for their source of data for billing. See for yourself: Hi Jessica, Zillow allows the general public to edit this information, similar to wikipedia, therefore, the latest email you sent me is irrelevant. Additionally, you already confirmed the total square footage is 2,280. Your account is due, please remit payment. Thanks, Nicole My response: Wow - talk about customer service here (being sarcastic). First, I said with an unfinished basement, it's 2280 square feet. The unfinished basement is about 510 square feet. Please avoid them!! Provided Inaccurate estimates and did not finish what they agreed to do and their workers are rude. I looked at their good reviews and asked them to do the following tasks: - Put baseboard trims in a room (90 linear foot) - Replace a bifold door - Replace bathroom exhaust - Replace kitchen faucet - Paint a wall - Replace a switch - Replace shower head - Trims in the bed room is time permits Over the phone, I was told that putting base boards will take most of the time but they will be able to get through everything that was on my list. Nicole also mentioned that the person who will come to work at my place can give more accurate estimate. Allen came to work. He showed up 45 minutes late. I told him the list and he said he can do it all in 8 hours. YES he confirmed it. Then he looked at the exhaust and said he can't do it. (Should have left some spare time) Then he looked at the faucet and said he cant do it (Should have left some more spare time) Then he spent 4 hours putting the trims around the living room. He was still positive that he can do everything. Then he replaced the door [It was not done correctly], spent 30 minutes Then he replaced the switch in the kitchen (15 minutes) Then he replaced the shower head (15 minutes) Then painted the trims for 1.5 hours (he was slow, very slow) Then he fixed the door for another 30 minutes as it could have fallen down on me or the people living in the house. Took 30 minutes in breaks (yeah I paid for the time and Nicole told me he can do that by law. great do that!!) During the day he said he will replace the trims in the bedroom as he could not do 3 tasks he agreed to do earlier but he refused to do it later. He got rude and angry when I asked him about this task. He did not paint the wall either. He was very slow and he wasted the whole day just putting trims and doing some small tasks. Yeah!! I was paying by the hour so he can take advantage of this. I am highly disappointed with both Nicole and Allen. Mainly because they can't honor what they agree to deliver. Being rude is definitely not acceptable. I wish they could have at least shown an intent to help me out or fix the problem but looks like they are just interested in money not goodwill. May be that is what matters!! I feel CHEATED and STUPID that I hired them and certainly I am not hiring them ever again. Also not recommending this company to any of my friends. I just had a roof cleaning for moss and gutter cleaning. These guys were very professional, friendly, and altogether my experience from requesting a quote to project completion was seamless. I got a callback from the website quote request quickly, and booked just as easily. On the phone the fellow described the options and the procedures for each option, giving me an estimate given my roof size. On the day of, the crew showed up just a tad early (15 minutes or so), so I wasn't waiting all day. They explained what they were going to do, and got right to work. Their equipment was clean and organized throughout the entire project. At the end they explained what they did and were very helpful, happy, and professional. The entire process was a joke. It took them 2+ months from the time I initially contacted them till they did some work (installed some trim around 5 windows). I contacted Chinook in Dec 2015. The handyman came and did an estimate and then in a few days they scheduled him to come over. 1st appointment: the guy doesn't show up after I took the morning off from work. 2nd appointment: the guy was late about 1 hour; I had to wait a few weeks to see the guy again. Then he came again and did some work for about 6-7 hours.The speed was below average. Of course he left before finishing the job, although I was assured he will finish the work in 1 day. After another few weeks - before the 3rd appointment I found out that the handymen doesn't work for Chinook any longer. So I had to pay ~ $700 just to get away from all this nightmare. $700 dollars for probably 3-4 hours of Real Work. The job is not done and I would have to find someone else to finish it. I have used Chinook Services for years now and they always do such a great job! I would give them 10 stars.

They had some decent advice around the services they would or could provide, and they even steered us away from a service that would not work for us. They were very pleasant and friendly and did a little extra work cleaning some mildew from the side of the house. However, several things went wrong: 1. They applied a product with bleach that destroyed plants, discolored our bronze oiled door handle, the front door, and the front door kick plate. We chose not to bring this up to them as we wanted to focus more on the next few items. 2. They improperly installed a dryer vent tube which promptly fell off at the first dryer load. They did come back that evening after a fair amount of convincing, implemented a temporary fix to get us through the weekend, then came back to install the proper fix on Monday. This item is closed. 3. At least 1-2 windows were not thoroughly rinsed. We called to request they come back and rinse them as they are high up on the second floor. They called to find out if the window was washed, and when we said no, they went to check on getting someone out. This is still an open item. 4. When we originally scheduled the service, we mentioned that our downspout was most likely clogged due to improper installation. And, if standard downspout cleaning didn't do the job, they said they would come back out (for a fee, of course) to remove it in order to clear the clog. After the first rain, the gutters continued to overflow. We called to see if they would come to address the downspout. At the time of the call, they said they would call back "right away". Two days later, we have heard nothing. This is still an open item. 5. **UPDATE** HVAC concern removed as it is not related to this service. This item is closed. If these items are addressed to our satisfaction, we will happily update this review with the results and we will increase the star rating. read more

The company gave me an estimate over the phone for cleaning my windows and I agreed. The day they came the window cleaner counted the window panels whereas I had counted the windows.
