Damn college kids. Sorry, no offence to college kids. :( This isn't Mexican food. Its not awful but it's not Mexican food. Also it's taking over the food scene and putting a lot of good family places out of business so it gets a 1. I had to come in here because my friends love it so much. I was here when I was very unfortunate in 2010. The Burritos are really generic, like any of those college-burrito style places but more brand-ified and predictable. I should mention, I only rate national and global chains on a scale of 1-2. I rate family businesses on a scale of 3-5. Here is why: Would you rather support the local family, or the multi national corporations and the rich men on yachts in the Carribbean? Why are the parking lots of the awesome local places usually half empty (or completely empty)? Why are the chains always so busy? Why can they afford to open so late and get all the TV advertising and all the prime intersection locations? Why are they always in shopping malls? Why go and support Denny's, Chilli's, TGIF, Olive Garden, or the horrendous Applebees? These places have systematically and coldly taken over the national food scene by using the cheapest ingredients, pre-packaged frozen systematic meals that are identical across the nation, overly high prices, rude underpaid servers on way less than minimum wage, and a ridiculously expensive mass brand advertising campaign that gets inside the heads of all the kids and the 20somethings and keeps them under the illusion that if it's not a brand name, it's not worth visiting. They spend all the money they should be investing in food and service, in advertising and cornering the market - the local places can't compete - and someday all we will be left with is the same chains serving the same food all over the world. That is our future. It's the way we're heading and you know it. Every time you eat at a bland national chain, you buy into that, you support that. Boycott chains. Support your local eateries. It's an embarrassment that generic brand national chains are even listed on a proper foodie website like Yelp, let alone getting 4 and 5 stars from so called foodies. Wake up, America, before we're all just batteries in the matrix. read more

I anticipated the opening of this Chipotle so much that I stood in line for 30-45min twice in single digit weather on their soft opening when they were giving away free burritos. The roasted corn, cilantro rice, and the sheer massive size of their burritos still set Chipotle apart from other competitors. I'm glad Buffalo now has another restaurant that reminds me of home. Not only is the food good, but the customer service is superb. A friend ate half her burrito only to realize that it was not what she ordered. Another friend accompanied her to the register to tell them about it and they were both rewarded with a gift card for a free burrito. read more

First, the food is wonderful. We came here on a whim but will be coming back for how happy we were. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. Also, a side note about the staff, they were amazing. Even if the food want as good as it was the staff would give us reason to come back too. They were very helpful and accommodating, taking the time to walk us through their process and explaining everything despite a long line. Overall a wonderful experience. Well, I've been to many Chipotle restaurants and this visit was interesting. It was near closing time and the remaining food was sparse, which is expected. However, while waiting in a line that took forever I noticed that the employees were more focused on socializing and making fun of people's names that placed orders online. The cashier seemed to hate her job and interacted in such a manor. I did my usual visit to Chipotle on Teacher Appreciation Day this past week. Let me first point out that Chipotle cancelled their teacher deal last year and we all know what happened...karma. While approaching the restaurant, a man walked out with no food and said there is a 45 minute wait. I walked in to look and saw the line was wrapped around the entire restaurant and started making a second loop. In my mind I was thinking, "That silly man doesn't know anything about their speed." We spent about 20 minutes in line and it felt like it moved at a decent pace. I ordered my usual burrito bowl with rice, black beans, chicken, and extra mild salsa (since I love freshly diced tomatoes and cilantro). If the mood strikes me, I add cheese. This past visit needed cheese. I'm a huge fan of the mild salsa so I just skip tomatoes since the salsa flavor is fantastic. The food is consistent here at this location along with every other location I have been to. I like that I know what I get every time and I know exactly how it will taste when I get it. It's definitely worth the wait in their "long" line. read more

The fact that the line is literally out the door every day at lunchtime speaks for itself. Chipotle has quick service, great variety, and fresh ingredients. This one serves beer and margaritas - I haven't tried them, but I keep hearing their margaritas are great! This particular Chipotle has always had quick service despite being consistently crowded. Last time I went, the guy folding my burrito was a little sloppy - I prefer a burrito to a burrito bowl but if I see a sloppy burrito folder in the burrito assembly line, I usually opt for the burrito bowl. My brother likes his burrito bowl with the tortilla on the side and little container of the salad dressing, neither things I was aware you could tack on for free. I also enjoy saucing up my food here with the Tabasco Chipotle which gives it a nice smoky flavor. To top it off I get the limes for my coke (you have to ask for them at the register but they will give them to you for free). I have to give Chipotle five stars. Where else can you find fast food mexican this good and this fresh? I guess you can try Moe's but I like the atmosphere in Chipotle better and the menu is so much more simple and easy to order from. I also don't like that "Moes Famous Queso" tastes like the worst queso I've ever had but I guess everyone has their own taste. read more

DO NOT EVER COME HERE AT LUNCHTIME! Don't get me wrong the food is always good, but you shouldn't have to wait 35 minutes to get a burrito! Now I guess I could have ordered on-line but based on what I saw here that wasn't very fast nor were people getting what the ordered! I felt sorry for the staff having to attempt to fill on-line order while angry customers stood in-line wrapped around the entire store. This place is in need of some new creative thinking management because while business is good, annoying customers like this, it will not last. Chipotle itself is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. However, this location has given me trouble time and time again. The staff are SO rude! I'm not one to complain but my goodness, you'd think that they're not in the customer service industry. The location on Sheridan is much better..I recommend making the trek over there. Edit: Visited this location tonight for the first time since my last review and was served raw chicken. The manager acknowledged it and apologized, while I watched them continue to serve the same batch of chicken to new customers. Although the manager was very nice and apologetic, I certainly don't think she did anything to prevent other visitors from being served the pink gooey mess that I was served. Like yuck, how do you not notice something like that!? Pretty sure I'm done with Chipotle for good after this visit. read more

Pretty standard Chipotle, this one threw me off though, because the way it's arranged is backwards from every other Chipotle I've ever been in. CHANGE BAD. :( Not really, it doesn't actually affect the ordering process, but it was just weird for me. I think I also threw the staff off by ordered a carnitas quesadilla, which is an off-menu item now, it used to be a standard thing back in the day. They managed it, but took a while, and instead of giving it to me in the foil it was pressed in, they decided to put it in a bol box. No matter though. it was still decent. As with most Chipotles, this one is A-OK. When I lived near North Campus, I would frequent this one a lot. The lines can be atrociously long, and sometimes they run out of something (brown rice, peppers and onions, etc.) which can be annoying. Workers are nice, but there seems to be a fast turn around since I never see the same people working. Food is exactly what you'd expect. Parking is ample but can be annoying depending on the time of day and time or year (read: Holiday shopping season). read more

Every chance I get to come here, I take it seriously because it is one of those places that you cant go to everyday. Well at least for me since I tend to get obsessed with places so fast. I love that it is far away from my house, because only god knows most of my money will be spent there. The food here is just as good as it gets, especially the Burrito Bowl(chicken), this is my special every time I come here thats all I get. There are other meat to choose from, but I am a CHICKEN LOVER, so thats all I get and I enjoy every time. It never gets old. Even though it is expensive, it is definitely worth it. My whole $7.01, I just bring my own bottled water because it only goes down right it with it. P.S. service is kind of weak though, when theres many customers around. read more

Not a huge Mexican food fan, but Chipotle is JUST ok. I had an encounter where a friend had raw chicken, and the staff is not very nice if you are a sort-of newbie (like myself), they don't really appreciate questions about the sauces, etc. But I suppose this might be because I throw off their efficient-ness, because they are definitely fast moving. There is ALWAYS a line, which I don't get because the food is so filling I don't know how anyone can eat it that often. The salad dressing is surprisingly very good, so that's a definite plus for someone who doesn't like cilantro or Mexican seasonings like me. I like Chipotle's food. I think it's fresher, better quality ingredients and overall tastier than Moe's or Salsarita's. This location is pretty standard. The line piles up around lunch time, which is to be expected. Only problem is that the tables and line are right near the door. In the winter this makes for a cold room. They have a heater/blower at the entrance, so at least I know they're aware of this, but it only helps so much. I recommend this location. read more

I really like the chipotle concept and have been to many of tgem throughout my travels. This location, however, is a huge disappointment. The protien portions are inconsistant and usually underportioned. Tge floors in the dining room are filthy. The fire exit is usually blocked with cardboard or garbage cans. The staff is rushed and seems robotic. I have to raise my voice to repeat my order. Not a cool place to be. But it is busy all the time. Why? This store has work to do. read more

Love the new Queso Blanco recipe! It's so much better than the old recipe that was previously used. I usually order through GrubHub and my go-to is always a large queso and large chips and a barbacoa burrito. I had stopped ordering from here because the queso just wasn't anything special at the time so I started ordering the same thing but through other restaurants where the queso was so much better. I just recently saw they changed the Queso Blanco recipe again so figured I'd give it a try and WOW it is so much better. I'll continue to order from here again for sure. My only wish was that the size of the large queso was more of an 8oz size for a large queso instead of a 6oz but otherwise the food is great. read more

my favorite chipotle in buffalo, I eat more chipotle then I should but it's delicious and 'reasonably' healthy. I'm in here at least once a week the place is almost always busy but the staff still give me a smile and check how my day is going when they recognize me. They rarely run out of food, and when they do they are genuinely apologetic about maybe 5-10 min waits. I recommend giving the store a second chance even if you felt you had a bad experience because they really are better then the rest read more

Best way to get lunch from here is to order ahead of time via the website/app. It takes about 40 minutes for the order to be ready, but all you have to do when you get there is walk up to the register and pay. No waiting in the 400 person line out the door. SO GREAT. I would even do this if I were planning to eat in. Place order, browse Old Navy, walk to the front of the Chipotle line, pay, and chow. I got soft corn shell tacos from here on my last visit and they were okay. Asked for rice and beans on the side. I don't know how they would have fit all of that food in the shells had I not gotten that on the side. The shells pretty much all fell apart while I was eating. Made a huge mess. I'd recommend sticking to a burrito. Maybe a burrito bowl. Burritos are what they do best though, IMO. And add fajita veggies. Gives it a whole different flavor profile. Mmm! read more

I should've went with my instincts. Buttt I didn't. For some odd reason, I didn't get the nice warm delicious tortilla for the burrito, but opted for the burrito bowl. It's the same stuff without the tortilla right? WRONG! Absolutely not. It's not the same. It seems like there's less food. You just don't get the whole experience of trying to get the whole width of the burrito into your mouth and trying to make sure that the delicious insides do not spill out. Get the burrito. Also area around the restaurant being busy, it certainly attracts more crowd. Music gives the finishing touch for the place. Over the past few months I decided to put chipotle on a hiatus. The reason being was because the last time I went I was not impressed. Mind you I have loved chipotle ever since it came to Buffalo and I've had my fair share of issues but nothing too crazy. Today I decided to get it because I haven't had it in so long and let me tell you I already regret it. I can't really say much other than they are always out of things and the service is poor. What happened to this location? Seriously, this used to be an incredibly well-run Chipotle! Wasn't going to complain about this initially but, this is the 3rd time in the last 2 weeks that this has happened - I ordered my food on my app (and paid for it in advance) and I arrived (on time) to pick up my food, and they haven't even started making my order yet. Then I get the pleasure of standing around for another 10-15 minutes while they try to prepare my food, alongside competing online orders and customers in the restaurant. Mind you, this has happened at both busy times and "off" times, so it wasn't just because of volume, but, rather, something is clearly wrong with their ordering process. This time was especially annoying because they claimed to have never received my order - I pulled out my confirmation e-mail and after a couple of minutes of searching on their computers, they apologized and told me they would started on it. The staff was polite and helpful, and obviously embarrassed about the mix up, but that meant another 15 minute wait....I couldn't just walk away (which i wanted to) and grab something else as I had already paid for my meal and they weren't offering a refund. Won't be doing that again. But while I was waiting for my food, I watched as a corporate client came in to speak to the manager, telling the manager that they had been promised free meal coupons because of how badly their lunches had been messed up the day before. The manager told the customer "Well, I just don't have those coupons on me, so I guess I can't really help you out". I've worked in retail and I was shocked - couldn't you just throw the customer a gift certificate, just to keep good customer relations? If they're a corporate client, they're probably ordering a dozen or so meals at a time, wouldn't you want to keep a customer like that happy? But, I guess that's a clue into why that location has gone into the crapper. read more

As a huge fan of chipotle that gets it at least 2-3 times a week, I find this chipotle the worst I've been to. The constant change in staff someone is always in training and gets my order wrong, or the very inconsistent portions of any of the ingredients have left me paying double meat for a barely passable single portion. The staff is friendly and the food is fresh. This may be due to the high volume of business that this place receives. During peak hours (lunch/dinnertime), the place is extremely crowded and the line can even go out the door. However, the staff is quick to serve customers, so you do not need to wait long. Let me start by saying I am a big fan of Chipotle in general and have been eating at them a couple times a week for a couple years now. So this review is more about this particular location which absolutely kills it. It's always a fun, friendly place to grab lunch, and they really make an effort to remember you and treat you special. I've never seen a staff member who didn't seem to enjoy working there. Anyone studying organizational culture should stop by and observe.
