We were craving fried chicken and this is a relatively new restaurant in the area so we decided to try it and pick it up for dinner. I'm not a huge fan of hot spicy food so I got plain fingers and fries and my hubs went all out with the HOT. Boy, was that a mistake for him! His eyes immediately teared up and he was feeling the heat. He said next time he'd go for medium. Pretty good! The chicken sandwich and slider both had a huge piece of chicken on it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box. Chicken was flavorful and delicious. Went for a lunch meeting to check out another hot chicken spot in the area and though I'm not particularly a fan of slider style sandwiches, these were good. Instead of getting a breast or thigh sandwich like most places, they serve it up as tenders. The chicken definitely had a kick as you went up in the heat level. I got one as 'hot' and the other 'xtra hot' to have comparison and you definitely will feel/taste the difference between those two levels. The crinkle cut fries were a good compliment and though I can't quite say what the Dave's sauce is, it was yummy on the sandwich as well as with the fries. This is my first time going to a Dave's. I didn't even realize it was a chain until after I was set on going there. I have to say, I was very impressed with this location. It was very clean, organized, and the vibe was very relaxed. The staff were helpful, and the service was SUPER quick. I don't think it took more than a couple of minutes to get our food. Onto the food. I love hot chicken sandwiches. I was looking forward to seeing how this spot stacked up against some other places in Buffalo. The difference here is that they have a dry rub seasoning on their chicken as opposed to a sauce. It's very unique and also very delicious. The heat is real here. The hot is actually hot and a good burn to get the tastebuds going. I got the two slider combo with fries. The sliders here are bigger than your usual slider which is good. I received the recommendation from a co-worker to try this chicken. She drives an hour away weekly just to get it, so I took her up on her recommendation. I placed my order online, and waited and waited and waited. The restaurant was packed not a single available order and the line was wrapped toward the back. I was in love with the size and the quality of the chicken. They were fried with perfection. Extra extra crispy on the outside with a good mount of moisture on the inside. Thick and delicious pieces of chicken. It was spicy. Not too much that I couldn't handle. I didn't really taste anything else aside from the spicy rub. First, a friend of mine told me I *had to* try Dave's hot chicken even before this location opened (said friend lives in Cali). He raved about the hot sandwich with extra Dave sauce + honey (a must!) so low and behold when this place opened up I tried his beloved sandwich... and it was not for me bcuz it was wayyy too spicy! Second visit I had the mild sandwich and it was delish. The fries were even better as they were hot and crispy. Third visit I had the medium sandwich and this will be my go-to from now on - I love it! They were so friendly, they opened the door for us, cleaned up dishes and even asked us how everything was and if we needed things. Super awesome! As far as the food - it was top notch. Dave's sauce is so delicious and be sure to ask for extra because you'll want to put it on everything! The cheese sauce was just okay, so it's better to dip your chicken and fries in the Dave's sauce. Fries are a must have! They are seasoned crinkle fries and have soooooo much flavor. Get the fries! The chicken is obviously the star of the show. There are so many different flavors so choose wisely! The chicken is coated with sauce but then topped with a rub which just gives it an extra layer of flavor! So so good! It's not very hot so be sure to level up if you like things spicy. After reading all of the reviews and wanting to actually enjoy my food vs just force it down because it was too hot, I decided for my first time to order the two slider combo with fries in Medium Limited menu ( which is actually a good thing, as they're just focusing on Chicken and sides ), ordered my food online and about 15 minutes later is was ready when the order said it would be, Grabbed it and sat down, the first thing I noticed was just how much food there was. I actually removed one of the tenders from each slider just to eat by itself or else the slider would be impossible to eat. Very tasty chicken and I like that it's a rub vs in sauce. Fries were good ( but a little soggy ) Overall my order was a little over $16 but honestly it was a TON of food just for lunch and was certainly plenty for one person. The negative side to this review was it took a total of 28 mins to wait for the food to come out. The waiting area should've been thought out a bit better since I felt that everyone was smooshed together awkwardly. The woman behind the counter was genuinely happy and seemed truly pleased to be taking people's orders. "Brandi O"greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word and gave the kind of customer service that one just doesn't see in a fast food restaurant. It makes a difference. This operation ran smoothly and efficiently. Constant stream of online order pick ups and DoorDash, Uber eats on the right hand side, with people patiently standing in line and quickly being called. And this was before the AFC playoffs and the place was crazy. Busy with people picking up food for the Bills game. The lady who was taking the orders from the kitchen was packaging them, bagging them and putting different colored stickers on them with practiced expertise. The food exceeded expectations. The food took 20 minutes longer than online order predicted, the employee managing the take out orders was rude, only bagged up orders and dropped them on the counter- not saying a work about who's order was ready or anything, so customers had to look through all the bags tickets to see if it was there's. When I first went up to the counter though she was still in conversation with two men behind the counter (who did not have any Dave's uniform items on and were definitely not employees), and I waited for almost 5 minutes for her to stop flirting with them to ask for my order but they never stopped and she never turned around long enough for me to get her attention or to notice me standing there, so I had to interrupt their conversation and say something a few times when she finally broke away from their flirting and playing with the cups of sauce they had been messing with to come ask me what I needed. I asked her to please look for my order bc I thought I'd heard my name called and she grabbed it from the online order pile and literally dropped it on the counter, allowing the already poorly put together lid/box to come completely undone, which did not stop her from putting the sauces and sides on top of it to be further messing up the lid. As I waited for the rest of my order, the to go bags continued to pile up with no names called, no one knowing whose was what, and a crowd of customers surrounding the counter starting to get louder about their frustrations. The phrase "should we just come back there ourselves and handle it?" Was said by several, as well as "well she's finally stopped flirting long enough to actually put some of the food in bags.." Then on the way out the two guys who had been behind the counter were sitting at a table by the door, eating their food and laughing and pointing at all the disgruntled customers. But to top it off, when we got back to our hotel with the food, we discovered there was little to no spice even on our expensive chicken. We love Dave's Hot Chicken. We come from a small town in the southern tier and only get to have it when we go to a big city, and always make a stop and spare the cash for it. But this was utterly disappointing. We've never had a bad experience at another location up until this, and the food has never been anything short of excellent until now. I don't ever bother to take the time to make complaints, but I couldn't not say something about this. From reading the other poor reviews it seems to be consistent with this location. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile, but held off until their post-opening rush died down a bit. I was able to order my food online and it was ready right when they estimated it would be. I opted for the two tender meal with fries. It comes with bread but I skipped out on that. I got my tenders mild, and they definitely weren't spicy, but they packed a ton of flavor. They were super crispy as well, and the fries were just the same. Dave's offers a range of spice levels, so if you're into high heat, you can definitely go there. As of this review, the two tender meal was ~$14, and I honestly thought it was a great value. The tenders were massive and I was too full to finish. 100% I will be back here again. Nashville hot is pretty different from the Buffalo style chicken fingers we're accustomed to around here. They give you a pager to know when your order is ready. We got our food to go and everything was packaged well. We found the prices very reasonable to comparable restaurant/fast food places. There are many spice levels available. I would suggest ordering two levels hotter than you normally would as it's really not that spicy at all. The food (when we finally got it) was great. I would pass on the Mac and cheese next time. Service was so-so. We came in with some friends, had two separate orders. Theirs came up about ~10 minutes.
