I usually never write reviews, but this had to be shared. This is possibly the worst chipotle I've ever ordered from. Over half of my order was incorrect. One of the workers must have thought it's funny to mess with online orders. I ordered a bowl that was missing the sour cream, salsa verde, fajita veggies, and cheese. Rather the hottest of hot sauces was placed on it. In addition my friend's burrito had extreme hott sauce placed on it instead of pico de gallo. She was so sick she couldn't even finish it after 10 bites and had to run to the restroom to throw up. It's so unprofessional and inappropriately. This seriously needs remediated. I can't say how disappointed I am with this location and the actions of one or two rogue employees. I've been to many chipotles across the country. Steve Ells would be pissed!!! read more

Went in today and the young lady scooping the rice acted like she was rationing for the next 10 years. I'm giving you business paying you $25 for two bowls and you give me 1/4 scoop of rice. This chipotle is the slowest chipotle I've ever been in. I'd love to see who is running the show here but obviously not anyone with any intelligence. You should plan to stand in line here for at least 25-30 minutes around lunch hour as they prioritize online orders over in person. Just awful service. read more

I eat at chipotle often and I came to this one for the first time and had the worst experience. Do not come here. The worker rushed my order even though there was no one in line behind me. I was planning on adding more (free) toppings but I was rushed into picking fast and I didn't end up getting what I wanted. My friend and I paid together for a total of 7.50 + 8.00 and they scammed us into paying 20 bucks. Workers were impolite and no receipt was offered- we were confused. This is during Covid so we wanted to leave and eat our food. Later we realized we were probably scammed into leaving a $4 tip. Not okay. Portion sizes were less than half the size they should be. I actually went to the new one on Dorset Street in South Burlington .. the food was good .. the music was so loud from the work area that I could not understand what the server was asking me without leaning in and having her to repeat herself more than once .. my hearing is great and when I got back to the table my granddaughter said hers was too hot .. when the server asked her what sauce she wanted she said "Huh" because she was not sure what she asked her and the server put hot sauce and a lot of it .. I told her to speak up next time because that was not her fault the music was so loud . Made for a not so great experience and it was not enjoyable with the music taking over the whole eating area as well .. I would suggest if they want it that loud they should all wear earphones .. read more

Another bad experience. Please for the love of god open a second location in the Burlington area. This place is WAY too busy. 30-40 waiting in line to order and another 10-15 people trying to pick up orders from a cramped shelf stuffed in the corner with less than half of people wearing masks. The staff is so busy trying to keep up with orders that they are just throwing the food together with absolutely no care and they there is no one cleaning tables so people can sit and eat, but you wouldn't want to anyways because you're just surrounded by dozens of people. I can't imagine the stress of the employees, but I can imagine that retention of employees is pretty low. Relieve the pressure and open another one in the area. Perhaps one closer to the university that can take more of the hundreds of college students. This is the third bad experience I've had in a row and don't think I will be returning any time soon. read more

I go to a lot of restaurants in Burlington Vermont due to the fact I do doordash. I come to chipotle a lot! And every time I come the staff is always super nice and very helpful. The orders and 9/10 always correct and they have great take out section where all take out orders are on a shelf so you don't have to wait in line. If your order is not ready you as the cashier and they always check no matter how busy! When ordering they are always respectful and easy to deal with. The only complaint I could have is there can be really long wait times and due to no fault is there own the dining room can get a tad messy but nothing crazy. Over all nice place to get a bite to eat! read more

Every single time we order from here, there is always something wrong. One time they gave us a bowl with chicken in it when the person who ordered was a vegetarian. Another time they missed an entire burrito. They also forgot sides to a kids meal not once but twice. This time they forgot 2 WHOLE BAGS of chips, but included only the dips. Oh, Burlington, if it were as cool as it thinks it is, it would be amazing. The new Chipotle is next to the new Five Guys. They are both plagued by the bane of Burlington business owners: staffing. We've been to Chipotle locations in other ZIP Codes, and never had cold food before. There were six college-age folk behind the counter (without a leader in sight). All businesses do what they can to keep labor costs down, and in markets like this the result is consistently disappointing. The Home Office can send all the three-ring binders it can assemble, but it won't help without good staff and management. This Chipotle has made some good, but never perfect, food. Our disappointment has finally reached the, "Oh well, not worth it" stage. Too bad--they've only been open a few weeks. It may last, but we won't help. read more

I have had a few terrible experiences with this Chipotle, all coming down to the employees that work there. 1. They are consistently out of guacamole and when I ask for some, they refuse to make more for the night 2. Criticized for not ordering online when I was getting two burritos to go. One employee was in such a hurry to finish my first burrito that he completely got it all wrong and had to redo it. 3. I was given a hard time the entire time I was there. Never been to Chipotle before, so we decided to stop in. The menu and choices were overwhelming and when we tried to step back and better understand what we were ordering they instead decided to try to rush us through. The end result... we won't be walking into another Chipotle again. Overwhelmed by the menu and ordering process, underwhelmed by the results. The meat was tasty but a "little bit of sour cream" apparently means drop the equivalent of a container of sour cream on top.... couldn't taste anything but sour cream. I love Chipotle, and pretty much every burrito chain it seems. I've been to a few Chipotle locations across the US and this is one of my least favorite of the franchises...here's why The food is good, but inconsistent. Usually I get a steak burrito bowl and it's always tasted pretty good but the steak is either rare (yum!) or well done (pretty tasty though). There's no middle ground! The pricing is well..it seems like whatever they feel like! I've been to this location so many times and had the same exact order and paid a few dollars difference each time. Sometimes they charge me for guac, sometimes they forget. (Once they charged me for guac but didn't put it on, but it was a take out order). They'll do double meat, usually for an extra charge, sometimes not. Sometimes they forget your salsa when you order chips and salsa. It seems like the inconsistency isn't just when they're busy. It's been a problem since they've opened too. But, I've never had a bad tasting meal, so I can't complain too much. Most of the time my orders are nearly right, and I'm not one to complain too much. read more

Let me start by saying that I LOVE LOVE Chipotle. No GMOs, crazy fast and efficient, high quality ingredients. That being said, the South Burlington location is nothing like the rest. I feel bad that Vermonters only get THIS experience. Here are the main issues: Painfully slow Incredibly messy Indifferent staff But most importantly--Attention MANAGER-Lay off the salt!!! The chicken is inedible. You are RUINING really great food. I have stopped here a couple times thinking that maybe I caught them on a bad day...but no, it's bad.. Really bad. Yelpers-don't let this be your Chipotle experience, take the ferry to Plattsburgh and eat at that one. It is worth the trip. read more

I ordered three crispy corn barbacoa tacos. When it arrived I assumed they had only given me a single taco because the package was tiny. Instead, they gave me three flour tacos that were tightly packed together in a sad, soggy little clump. I can't eat flour so I had to throw them all away. The restaurant wasn't answering the phone and DoorDash could only offer a 15% discount. I ordered tacos and guac, so 15% doesn't come close to covering the incorrect item. The guac isn't bad, but it certainly isn't worth 15 bucks. Just go to Moe's instead. The food is about the same and they will actually fix their mistakes. read more

I'm conflicted about Chipotle. Yes, they're corporate. Yes, the McDonald's truck is out front every morning at 7AM delivering food. Yes, the line occasionally stretches out the front door (and makes for a 30 minute wait). But, they make the absolute best burritos in BTV. Bueno Y Sano, Boloco, Moe's are all Chipotle wannabes. The cilantro-lime rice is amazing. The guacamole is perfect. The meats are all well-seasoned, tasty, and hormone/antibiotic free. The salsas are great. I honestly don't know what else you could ask for in a burrito joint. Hit up Chipotle for an enormous, killer burrito. Your stomach will thank you. read more

I've been eye balling this place for a while, ever since I noticed it was right next to Five guys! Someday, I'll go there! I told myself every time I'd get my burger! Well today was that day. The guy at the register was cool with how I came in clueless about how to order. It's actually very simple; burrito, burrito bowl, taco or salad? Then pick what you want on it! I'm pretty sure I broke a record on how quick I was in and out of there. Maybe three minutes? Sooo... I got a salad. Yeah, I know! I had already ate and was looking for something for later! The salad did not disappoint! Strong flavors with a little spicy zing to make me up a bit, super fresh lettuce, the grilled peppers really added more to the salad than I thought it would. This was the first salad I've EVER had that didn't need any dressing, it was perfect and I'm very impressed with it. Can't wait to try out some more of their menu! read more

Garbage. Digestive system took a day to right itself after eating here. I've eaten at Chipotle many times in other states, this simply is not the same restaurant. Staffed by dull children, the burritos we ordered looked more like baggies made out of tortillas loosely folded to hold inside the wet, disgusting mess. The new thing on the block in Vermont will always be busy the first month or two, but I fully expect a hole in the strip mall where this crap factory can be found. They do have pretty good napkins, I will say as I used many of them to soak up the excessive amounts of water found inside my burrito(it was more like a Mexican flavored Capri-Sun wrapped in a soggy wad of toilet paper. read more

Opened 5/31/2012 on the end of a strip mall, it's a standard Chipotle. There're 3 seats outdoors using the traditional light shiny aluminum furniture Chipotle's outdoors seats are famous for. Inside is the traditional architecture and menu, no surprises, but the same consistent quality of all other Chipotle's. read more

I love love love Chipotle but the staff here is incredibly rude. I was ordering two bowls at once which can be hard because I was trying to remember another persons order and the woman working was almost yelling at me to speak louder and she continued to make both bowls so quickly and messily that she messed up both the orders by putting the wrong ingredients in each and did not offer to remake either. It made me really sad because even though Chipotle is a great company and has great food, this location (even though it's literally the only one in the state at the moment) is pretty awful. read more
