I don't think I have ever had a Chipotle experience as good as the one I had here last night. I visited this Chipotle about an hour before closing to get a late dinner. I was chatting with the team member making my tacos and I asked him what he thought of the new chipotle honey chicken and if it was spicy. He said it was on the spicier side but it did cool down with toppings like cheese, corn, etc., and he shared that he liked it. Then, he asked me if I'd like to try a bite of it! He put a small portion in a tiny cup and I was able to taste the chicken before committing to it on my tacos. It was delicious and I felt like I was making a solid, informed, dinner decision. The team member who cashed me out was also super sweet. I wish I would have gotten their names. I will not hesitate to return to the Cave Creek Chipotle! read more

Chipotle is located in the Cave Creek Crossing. I took advantage of their BOGO offer. I got a reminder that the BOGO offer was about to expire. Before I started to order I let the staff members know I was using my BOGO offer. She didn't know about the offer nor did the supervisor. I explained what I received and she acknowledged it was good. I ordered 2 chicken bowls with brown rice, pinto beans, cheese and lettuce. I got some salsas on the side. When I got to the register, I tried to open their app. The app just sat and would not open. I asked if I could show the email. Staff said yes, looked at the note and charged me for one meal. It shouldn't have been this hard but everything worked out. The food was fresh and plentiful. This is what $41 worth of food from this establishment looks like. Quality is a lack. Care is none existent. Completely un-editable. Sent someone to pick up lunch. Tacos and Burrito were drenched in juice to the point the tortilla felt and looked like dough. The Burrito Bowl looked like a bowl of soup. No way to take back so I called to see if they could pick up a deliver something editable. They do not answer the phone. Had to call the 800 customer service. Was declined what I wanted. Was offered free food for my next visit instead. I declined. Then was offered a partial refund. I declined. Like seriously what and going to do with the cheese sauce. I didn't order chips it was for the tacos. Finally was refunded. Star rating should have the option for -100. This is so insane and nasty you do not have to worry about me coming back. read more

This is probably the worst location I've been too. Super cheap on the portions and at my most recent visit, they forgot my chips. I should've double checked my order but this one time I didn't. Tables are also always dirty inside and the staff are not friendly. It's a good location but there needs to be a major overhaul on the management side. read more

I am posting this review in follow up to an earlier post about how much their prices have gone up in past year, and servings size almost 1/2 as much. Not to mention all the other peoples comments on this same subject. What's worse? The AI cardboard response from management, after every comment, tell me they don't care. As tonight we will not be returning to eat here ever again. Customers can bitch and complain all they want but they will do nothing about it, because they don't care. Plain and simple. I hope I can influence more people to spend their money elsewhere. The negative reviews are mostly the same: ridiculously small portions, expensive pricing, cold food and terrible management. Best experience at Chipotle for the first time; Natalia was the girl helping me, she was super sweet and very quick; she knew what to do and was so awesome!! The environment was very clean, the bathrooms were literally perfect for as perfect a "fast-food" restaurant can be. They had good vegetarian options overall, and the kids build-your-own tacos was very customizable and adaptable to dietary needs. When I went to get an extra bag, I've never been served so fast; Camilla (? Camila) was manning the register and was able to get me my extra supplies! Unfortunately this chipotle location is not it. I've been to many chipotle's before, service is always great, clean establishment, etc. which cannot be said about this location. We went on a Sunday afternoon, not during a lunch rush. There were hardly any customers there and they seemed fully staffed, yet trash was overflowing and staff was mostly socializing with each other. I have some serious food allergies and can typically rely on chipotle for a safe order, but the cross contamination was rampant - i.e. sour cream drips in all of the salsas. I didn't feel confident ordering but did anyway, and regretted it - I was definitely exposed to the allergens I need to avoid. I hope management can improve this location, it gives chipotles a bad reputation. read more

Every time i come here the chips are either over cooked or not cooked enough, steak is always fatty, who cares about C.I cut the fat off. I've never been to a chipotle this horrible before and it's really embarrassing for you guys, crew/managers wear headphones on the line, no gloves for grill, long acrylic nails (which is crazy because when i worked at chipotle i couldn't even wear clear polish) and no non slips, corporate seriously needs to come in to this location and set you straight. We've been going to this chipotle 2-3 times per week for the last year after we moved nearby. The last month or two the food hasn't been great, to say the least. We mostly do mobile ordering, but tonight we were really disappointed. We get home and our bowls are half full, even though we had asked for extra rice and corn. It's almost as if they put less when you ask for extra, I guess we should just stop asking? One of the bowls had like half a serving of steak, a total rip off for paying almost $12 a bowl. Steak was also horribly dry, and it was around 7:30pm, dinner time so it shouldn't have been sitting out too long. We also noticed recently that the corn salsa is VERY spicy. It's usually just a mild spice if you get a jalapeño piece, but now regular salsa isn't even necessary with how crazy hot the corn is. I'm not sure what's been going on with this location lately but it's definitely losing quality. read more

This was the smallest portioned Chipotle I've ever had. Different gir walked to counter and relied previous one. She was rude and I believe she was probably a manager or assistant. Long hair, skinny, ball cap. Very very small portions. Even the person I picked up for said "oh we got hipped." look at the rest of the Yelp rev. This is obviously a problem with this Chipotle. Food was cross contaminated and food prep area where they make your item was a mess. Food everywhere all over the counter. Won't go back to this one. Update: Nov 3, 2024. OK my first review was bad because the portions were so small, but I thought I would go back because the CEO came out and said he was fixing that problem. We'll the portions this time were much better. Unfortunately that wasn't the only problem with this place. So went in a Saturday a little after noon. Maybe a total of 4 people eating there but nobody in line. And there was maybe 5 employees all looking bored. So I step up to the counter to order two bowls. So I start ordering, and both bowls are very different. I'm being super rushed, and as I so, nobody else is in line. One bowl has moved up the line and that person is yelling to me to pick what I want there, while a second person has my other bowl, and he wants to know what I want on this one. Its like now they move your food so fast up the line, that they will win when you forget items. Or maybe its some race where their bonus is based on if they can get you in and out the door in under 14 seconds. I don't know. But its the worst service I have ever had and this time, I am not going back. Note to management: Have one and only one employee serve one customer no matter how many orders that customers has. If another customer comes in, have another employee serve that new customer. Having multiple employees all yelling at one customer at once is plain STUPID, and if you don't know that, maybe you need some classes in hospitality and running a restaurant. read more

The staff simply do not care about their jobs. For instance, I asked for a little bit of red sauce, and he poured a large scoop into my bowl. When I mentioned that it was too much, he grabbed the bowl and began scooping out the excess sauce (using the same spoon) which was mixed with sour cream, and putting it back into the sauce container! Then, he switched to scooping the excess sauce out of my bowl and into the trash can. During this process, he spilled sauce all over the sides of the bowl and on the lid, yet he still closed it and handed it to the cashier.The dude hates his job. read more

So, this is my third review of the Carefree Highway location, and each experience is worse than the prior negative experience. I walk into this location approximately five minutes after opening. All the employees have their backs to me and the other customers. They won't explain why they aren't serving. Chipotle has excellent food, but continuously poor service. I have yet to go in this establishment and find the place clean. Doesn't matter if it's afternoon or evening weekday or weekend. Tables are not maintained clean during the business day. The counter the employees work on is always coated in food and it's quite alarming as bacteria is free to grow here. The worse thing as most visits but not all the employees constantly cross contaminate the condiments by dumping the almost empty container into the new product. Tried again hoping they had improved but nope. This is still by far the worst chipotle I've ever eaten at. They went skimpy on everything except the black bean (juice) and I ordered "easy bean". It's an understatement When I say it was COVERED in the juice. The rice was so disgusting and soggy with bean juice that I couldn't even eat it. On top of that, there was maybe a tablespoon of each of the other toppings and a half a tablespoon of guacamole which paid almost $3 extra for. On July 8 '24 ordered 2 chicken burritos on the mobile app. They were so big they couldn't get the foil around them and it was all rice. We split the first then opened the second and counted 6?pieces of chicken. First burrito was same and chicken was gristle. Picked up at drive thru, asked for forks and napkins and got neither. Wasn't until I got home and looked at the receipt that I realized all the extra charges. got chips and queso and and was charged for two additional sides of queso, separate from the chips and queso. none of bowls had queso, so that made no sense. got two burritos and was charged for 2 sides of tortillas... which we didn't order or receive. Never asked if I wanted any drinks or anything else. Which I did but if you make me feel like I am wasting your time by ordering, I'm not going to order. To make matters worse I have observed the manager's at this location cut back on portions like cheese and guac...AND with the chips, in particular, to probably make up on their costs and increase the bottom line. .
