I come to this chipotle very often and have been for a while now. Food is perfect, no issues there. But pretty much 99% of the time, it takes way too long to get my mobile order. This location never honors the "promised" pick up time. I don't blame the staff at all because they are always working non-stop and tirelessly to get orders out. But this location cannot keep up with order demand. Chipotle management needs to do something about this, whether it means hiring more staff, creating and implementing policy to be able to keep up with the heavy demand, or by expanding the location and making a bigger kitchen. As a paying customer, I shouldn't have to wait an entire hour just to get my mobile order ready to be picked up read more

Don't order on line unless you plan 30 minutes ahead. I ordered lunch on Wednesday 10-7 at 10:50 am for pick up at 12:30pm. Arrived 12:25 and my 2 item order wasn't ready until 12:55. Meanwhile at least 2 dozen people went through the live line and received their orders. Why have a pick up when they can't fulfill their orders on time. I've gone to Chipotle 2 times in the 2 months, the Same thing happened both times. I entered the establishment approximately 9:30 p.m. in which the place closes at 11:00 the grills were turned off they were no longer cooking and there was barely any food left inside the heated containers. The meat that was left in the heated containers was dried out and the veggies were barely there I asked if they were cooking anymore for the night and they said no they were done cooking for the night. I stated to the person that they did not close until 11:00 why are they not cooking any longer at that point the person acted it is if they did not understand English anymore most of the people that work there are all Spanish-speaking people that should be able to speak English including the manager. There were other customers that entered the same time I did witnessed what happened and agreed with me and walked out as I did. I will not be going back to this establishment anymore gave them a second chance and still prove that they did not make any changes. read more

Awful experience!!!! Ordered for a 7:15 Pick up and did not get out food until 8:07! I watched the entire parking lot empty from people walking in to get their food and ordering when they went in. My experience was meh. Avoid on Friday afternoons and evenings...it seemed like everybody from the town of Darien was in that joint. Parking sucks. The lot is small and awkward. The line itself was long as hell. Definitely NOT enough seating for the volume they do. Thank god the food was good...I would've been really pissed if I had waited all that time and there had been a problem with the food. This place used to be a really good IHOP so I am still slightly bitter... Anyway...there's a new Chipotle located in the I-95 North rest area between exits 12 and 13. I ha e been going to this Chipotle since they opened. I even went back after they were shut dow. By the health dept. A couple of weeks ago my kid and I decided to pick up dinner and when we drove up, there was a sign saying that they were only taking online orders, so we left. And last week I decided, I'm exhausted, it's hot, I don't feel like cooking; I'll place the online order, So it is as 5:45p.m., and I asked to pick up the order at 6:20p.m.,- 35 minutes later. I was 20 minutes away. I arrived and sat in the car until 6:18p.m. I ordered a bowl with double chicken and tacos for my kid. I went in at 6:18p.m., and saw 4 bags on the pick up rack, in addition to a long line for the pick up line. Eventually, at 6:45p.m., my order was ready. Upon getting home and eating my bowl I realized that rather than double chicken, which I ordered and paid for, I got about half of one serving of chicken. I could actually count the pieces of chicken i the order (about 9 chunks). This is the worst restaurant. At the height of COVID, rather than cut the chicken in cubes, they were actually shredding the chicken and having customers pay for double shredded chicken. When ordering online the food is always ready way past the estimated time shown on the app which gets frustrating so take that into account. Also they say they can't make me a quesadilla in person which makes no god damn sense and it takes forever online so it's not even worth going if u want a quesadilla. I'm very confused why they can't just put cheese in a tortilla when u order in person. I have been to many chipotles and this one is horrible. The service is slow, the staff inattentive and it does not appear clean with food strewn all over the counter. The food is just as bad, the inattentive staff plopped in the servings with little attention and when I got home my burrito Bowl was a big blob of sour cream with the contents congealed together. The chips are stale and the guacamole is not as fresh or good as at other chipoltes. They may want to consider hiring a strong manager to get this place in shape and train their staff on customer service. read more

I have been a very long time fan of Chipotle. It is one of those chains that hits the spot just when you need it. However, this location SUCKS. Run away. Run fast and run far! There's another Chipotle down the road in Westport which blows the Darien one away. My daughter and I were definitely in the mood for lunchtime Chipotle and we navigated to this location. We had never been there before. The parking was horrific and the seating inside was awful (forget anyone wiping down a table when someone leaves) but that aside, we just wanted the food and were going to eat in my car if need be. I ordered a salad and my daughter ordered a bowl. ALL the lettuce that was put into my bowl had brown edging around ALL the white parts of the romaine lettuce. How OLD was that lettuce? It sure doesn't go brown by lunch and with that many people, you would think there should be great food turnover. But this lettuce was OLD. I asked for chorizo and there was so little given I couldn't believe it. It was like a kid size portion, no more than 1/2 a spoonful. The server put so little rice in my daughter's bowl that again, it looked like a child's serving. FFS this is RICE not lobster! I asked for more rice please and the woman took just the tip of the serving spoon and put in a fingernail full of rice. You have got to be kidding. Then, she got the same small serving of chorizo that I did. I just sat there looking at these 2 pathetic meals, old lettuce and extraordinarily small serving sizes, and couldn't believe I was going to pay $9 a piece for that ?!?! I have been to SO many Chipotles for so many years and have never ever had an issue with portion size. It has ALWAYS been consistent until now. And then, the server started filling the order of the guy behind me and after another 3 minutes of waiting (yes, I clocked it), I said forget it. I wasn't paying $9 each for crappy food and crappy service. So we walked out and left without a word. The servers act like they are serving prison chow and it's pretty clear that they don't care about what they are doing. Hey, if you don't like your job then LEAVE. Every other Chipotle on the planet has got to be better than this one. So here's the deal..... the staff was hard working and incredibly professional considering the debacle that was taking place. We ordered on line for food pickup at 6:15. Showed up (at 6:15) to pick up our food. However, our order, as well as the other dozens of people waiting, took OVER AN HOUR to prepare and bag up. In the meanwhile, while I was waiting for my order, I watched as dozens of people walked in, ordered food, and walked out with their meals within minutes! So, for what it's worth....... if you have a customer who is willing to pay up front, order on line, and is given a pickup timeframe, WHY would you continue to take orders for food that you can't fulfill? Incredibly, incredibly frustrating, and unnecessary. read more

Did an online order for 6:30 PM pickup. Arrived at 6:45PM as this location is notoriously late with online orders and was told it would be an hour until the order was ready. The regular order line was empty and not being used to accommodate online orders. The order was literally for one burrito. I don't really understand why people like this place so much. To me the burritos and burrito bowls are just ok. I really feel like they are not even really worth the price, like they seem kind of expensive for what they are. I also do not really like the set up of this location (which is the only one I have been to because they do not have one in Norwalk). This girl I know always tells me how good the guac is, but I personally find it to be pretty average. For a chain restaurant it is just alright. Seating is weird because if you want to dine in you basically get forced to sit at a group table with a bunch of random strangers. Setups like that just seem awkward to me. If you've never heard of Chipotle...it's great, fast, fresh Mexican food (with awesome guacamole)...if you've heard of it, it lives up to its name. You just need a few tips for this particular location 1. Park in the gas station next door. Don't bother trying to find a spot in Chipotle's lot. You'll just get frustrated and end up hating Chipotle, and they should have planned for more love. 2. Don't plan to eat there. There just isn't enough seating unless you go at a random non-meal time. 3. It's fast, but there's always been a line when I've been there. But hey, you're still getting your food in under 10 minutes so I can't complain. I'm just happy they finally made it local. With these few tips, hopefully you'll enjoy it too. read more

I'm giving this particular Chipotle location 2 stars mainly because I was so impressed with their clean toilet. Anyway, I came here for the first time a few weeks ago for a quick lunch. I was kind of surprised to see a Chipotle in Connecticut a.k.a. depressing wasteland where people snort coke outside of shopping malls not too far away. Whatever so we pull in to a small parking lot, walk inside, and it's pretty busy. The layout of the building tricked me into thinking there was plenty of seating around the bend. Instead there were only 2 or more sets of childlike looking snack tables. We placed our order and the workers who dished out the food were friendly. I ordered a vegetarian rice bowl and couldn't believe how pale the corn was. Other than that it was tasty enough. My boyfriend had ordered a beer along with his rice bowl. He realized he needed a bottle opener and went to the front to ask for one. An unexpected splash of DRAMA ensued. Some big guy employee with a hat on made it seem like it was PREPOSTEROUS to ask for a bottle opener and angrily asked, "WHERE'S YOUR BEER?!" I had already been sitting at the little kiddie table when he pounded over to our spot, opened the beer, and briskly walked away without acknowledging the "Thank you" my boyfriend uttered even though the dude didn't deserve it. I'm almost positive I'll never come back to this Chipotle again (1) because I only set foot in Connecticut once in a blue moon and (2) bottle opener man ruined it. read more

Delicious food. I love Chipotle. It's basically the Subway of Mexican food. Most Chipotles are a bit better than this. The architectural component of his place is terrible. The parking lot is awkward entrance-wise. It's always full too. There is also little room to pull your car out. The restaurant seating appears to have been designed by a elementary-school student. You walk in and there is a big wooden wall in your face with about two feet of room. The line for waiting wraps around a bar stool seating area which gets crowded. On the other side, there is a long communal table. Once you can get over the design and slowish service, it's good food. I recommend takeout. read more

I'm quite surprised to discover how many negative reviews there are of this Chipotle. I go here around once a week during the summer months and while it's not perfect, this establishment has proved time and again its capacity for producing excellent food. Most reviews of this location refer to customer service and parking, which, of course, could both be improved upon. However, I don't get fast food for the service. I get it because it's consistent and easily obtainable. Many of the employees have limited English abilities but that's okay because the ingredients on the board happen to be listed in Spanish. If anything, the language barrier adds to this Chipotle's ambience as a legitimate Mexican restaurant. I order the same thing here every time: burrito with rice, black beans, chicken, pico, corn, sour cream, and cheese, and it's great, or at the very least close to great, without fail. I see several reviews complaining about lettuce. Don't order lettuce you bums. Lettuce was made for small rodents to graze on not as a staple of tex-mex cuisine. I have little sympathy for lettuce eaters and even less for those who critique the quality of said rabbit food. I do wish the prices were cheaper, they seem to be a dollar higher than average across the board due to this Chipotle's location in Darien (aka the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited capital of the world) read more

I'm a huge fan of Chipotle and have been known to travel across state lines in order to get it. So I was super excited when one finally opened here in Fairfield County, and in general it's been a positive experience. For a new Chipotle, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and take really good care of their customers. I've never had a problem with the staff. I order online, generally, so I can just walk right up to the counter, pick up my order, and leave. Online you can leave notes to the staff, and I let them know that in my previous online order they had forgotten my tomatillo sauce. When I picked up my order, it was no charge because of the mix-up. What sucks about this Chipotle in particular is: 1. Location 2. Size 3. The customers Other people here have talked about the location and size, so I'll talk about the customers. Despite this place having been open for almost 4 months, apparently no one knows how to order from Chipotle. The great thing about Chipotle is how customizable it is, yet people just walk right up to the counter and say "I'd like a burrito" and are just puzzled when the staff is like "What would you like in it?" And everyone orders 500 things to go for other people. Please, people reading, if you're going to order for more than two or three people, put the order in online! It makes it much easier for both the employees and the people around you. This Chipotle in particular has treated me well, and made my tummy very happy.
