I ordered the chips and salsa and steak burrito. The chips were kinda stale so but I went later in the day, so I'm guessing they make a big batch in the morning. Salsa was really good. It was spicy and you could see chunks of onions and jalapeños. I want to try the pico de gallo next because it looked really fresh. The steak burrito was good. Steak was tender and there were only a few chewy pieces. I do prefer refried beans instead of black beans but the black beans were good. Also, I was expecting esquite in the burrito and I may be wrong but it was only regular corn. When I think of esquite, I think of the corn in the cup dish. We walked into this spot and knew we were going to get some real authentic food. The wan behind the register recommend the bowls and that's exactly what ingot, but with shrimp. The food was very good and flavored extremely well. The rice and beans were very good. We took the food to-go, but inside was nothing special. Only down side is five minutes before we picked up our food they cancelled one item. It was taken off the bill but nothing was added to replace it. We ordered: - 1 of every taco on the menu - cilantro lime chicken burritos - crispy chicken plate - horchata - churros The tacos were good, but cause we ordered one of every flavour, there was some that we were not sure what they were. There were a few red ones that wasn't that great. But the cilantro lime chicken, in taco form and burritos was amazing! It was full of flavour. Best Mexican food in the area! Love how it shows you "not gluten free or lactose free" items on the menu so it's easy for people to browse who have those limitations. My wife can't tolerate very spicy food but the salsa was mild enough for her to enjoy but had enough of a kick that I was happy with it. Second time trying this place- ordered the Fried shrimp Bowl and a side of chips and salsa. I could eat this bowl every single day- it is amazing. Shrimp were perfectly cooked- not greasy- nice and crunchy like I was hoping for. Their salsa is delish- it's more of that saucey type of salsa which I personally enjoy. A few months ago I tried the elote corn and some tacos and the corn was soooo goood- just wish for the price they included two pieces of corn. But that's fine. The person who took my orders was very kind. Good service. Very clean. I had the chicken taquitos and although i almost can never handle spicy food and my lips are burning like crazy right now, they were still very delicious lol. This place is great! I've come a few times and can safely say it's solid. I've tried the burrito, tacos Al pastor, and quesadilla. My partner LOVES the quesadilla and thinks it's the best in Stamford. I'm a HUGE fan of the mango habanero salsa and avocado jalepeno salsa. Some of the best salsas in Stamford! This place has great food overall. The only thing I lower a point for is the price of the Al pastor tacos is a bit steep per taco, and the tacos themselves are only one tortilla. Sometimes they're great, but I've had them once or twice and the meat was fatty and not edible. Staff is very kind and service is fast. Ordering online is a breeze! My friend & I ordered a ton of food for delivery and we were not disappointed! Of course everything is better at the restaurant but we enjoyed our night in. The cheesy beef tacos, chicken taquitos, tinga bowl were all sooooo good! The jalapeño salsa was fantastic. The chips were fresh and crispy with no grease and perfect seasoning. Pico de Gallo was heavy on the jalapeños which I didn't mind at all, but if a more bland pico is your thing, then just be cautious. The one down fall is that the guacamole was like a purée with absolutely no chunks or texture. Initially, I thought it was salsa. We hosted a party for about 20 adults and wanted to serve tacos and quesadillas with all sides and toppings. We tried three restaurants in the weeks leading up to the party and thought Chicho's was by far the best. The tacos from here are pretty good. It comes with a homemade jalapeno avocado sauce, a little bit of cilantro, cheese, and pickled onions rather than the usual raw onions. I tried the cilantro lime chicken, barbacoa, and the chicken tinga. The cilantro lime chicken is a chunky grilled chicken type of taco. Good flavor but not a favorite. Coming from NY, I am spoiled by the tacos there. Both the barbacoa and tinga were juicy and good, but doesn't compare to the ones I had in NY. I stopped in Chicho's Cocina for a quick take out meal based on a recommendation. I was completely blown away by my experience there. From placing the order over the phone, to picking up my food in the restaurant. The staff was all super friendly, patient and helpful with me while placing my first order at their restaurant. A+ Customer Service all the way. Now let's get down to the food portion of the review. I had a standard barbacoa burrito, but added the lime and cilantro chicken to it as well. It was simply amazing. From the ingredients, to the preparation and even down to the sauces they recommended to go with it. It all tasted amazing. It got messy after a couple of bites, but definitely not complaining at all. Sometimes when you want something in this life you have to roll up your sleeves and get a little messy. Also my daughter who is a young, up and coming foodie. Really loved the burrito too. Every bite she took, she said was better than the last one. If you can please a 11 year old, who doesn't like half of the ingredients in the meal to begin with. Then you've out done yourself on a whole new level.
