Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, this location was short-staffed upon our visit for sure. We had an expiring BOGO, so we got 2 bowls, to go. The girls at the counter were rushed, but still friendly enough. The lobby definitely needed some love, as they were at the point of just have the cases of silverware out because they didn't have time to clean and restock. They were also out of all the fresh juices and couldn't clean to refresh. Very busy. The bowls were tasty, and very full. Not too bad, but they need to get these folks some help! read more

The worst Chipotle location. The worst. Employees are lazy and don't care about quality service. After not receiving our order, we tried contacting this location directly and no one answered. Pepper was of no help either! Pepper eventually stopped responding. Chipotle do better! Don't go to this location. They are awful and not worth the bother. Just flew in from California for a conference and was one familiar places I know that was open. Boy this place is a far cry from the quality I expect from a West Coast Chipotle. Got there during store hours and it said online orders only with 3 to 4 employees just sitting down over an hour before the store closing hours. As I stood outside and placed my order in the app which took way longer than normal because of the rain, I saw them prepare my order then just wait. They just stared at me occasionally with no way to get my order. Had to knock and they just pointed at the phone implying "online orders only". Eventually I got them to unlock the door and then they realized I was the one who ordered. Altogether I was outside in the rain for 20 minutes. Now the food itself....boy it tasted off and really cold. On the plus side it was the biggest burrito I ever had but I couldn't finish it because of the cold off putting taste of stale ingredients. Ordered chips and salsa too and the chips tasted horrible and must've been at least 3 to 5 days old because I've had several day old chips but this was way worse. There was no hint of lime or salt on it either implying it wasn't even seasoned. Yeah place needs to be closed or a proper manager brought in. read more

I usually enjoy chipotle. It's custom made and relatively fresh as can be. This location decided to go against years of success. Ordered two bowls and a brisket quesadilla about an hour ahead of time on the app. No rush. I'll even accept it a bit cold at 8:10. Picked up at 8:03 and was missing most of the kids meal. But they gave us the brisket quesadilla! Literally wouldn't come off the foil and it was cold. Like literally chilled. The meat was insanely sweet and disgusting. I can't believe they served that. The bowls were steak and brisket. Steak was excellent. Again, cold but not anything to complain about. But the brisket bowl was atrocious too. Location was unstocked and clearly in over their head. I order delivery through their app. Received my order and the bag smelled like gasoline. I was supposed to have a burrito bowl w/ double chicken, brown rice, black beans, fajita vegetables,and corn salsa. Instead the bowl only had white rice and corn in it. Couldn't find a customer support number so had to report through the app and they gave me a free entrée but when I tried to order it, they wouldn't deliver it to me since it was considered a "reward". I finally got a hold of somebody at the restaurant and they said that they don't have delivery from there, even though I ordered delivery through their app. Decided to try the rice and the rice tasted like gasoline as well. I LOVE Chipotle. I could easily eat it 3x per week. But this is one of my least favorite locations. The layout is super awkward. On any given workweek lunch, the line usually wraps way past the front door where people walk in, people sitting at tables, and even past the drink station. If you are truly stuck and you have to get your Chipotle fix at this location, just endure the line because online ordering will leave you with a sad, poorly packed bowl. Parking is tough here. Typically what I do is drive down Main Street and scope out a parallel spot. If there isn't a spot on Main, I make a left on E 14th Street and look for a spot there. If there isn't one on 14th, I make a left on Walnut, park in the Cosentino's parking garage, and buy something there to validate my parking on my way to or from Chipotle. And if you're not a Chipotle addict like I am you may just want to take this opportunity to have lunch at Cosentino's! read more

I have never been done this dirty by Chipotle before. I got a Sofritas Bowl, tortilla on the side, with chips and gauc. Simple and sweet. I come home, ready to dive into my delicious meal. Immediately I notice there is no tortilla-- I am heartbroken and devastated, but relieved I still have my chips. I pull out my chip bag and to my absolute dismay and surprise, there is a maximum of maybe 15 fried tortilla chips. I am in disarray. I ate no chips on the way home; this is genuinely all they gave me. No tortilla and a measly 15 tortilla chips. That didn't even fill the bag a quarter of the way. My burrito swiftly fell apart, leaving 2 lakes of liquid on the foil it came wrapped in. The wrap was cold, as was the inside- no delicious melty cheese occurred. The counter staff is hit or miss- the first person I talked to glared at me when I approached her at the counter. The second person was very courteous as he took my order. I won't come back to this location, mostly because parking is impossible, which isn't their fault, but it's not worth the hassle based on the other factors. Also, I had names corresponding to each order and they only wrote 1 name out of 22 which is odd as Chipotle is usually good about printing out the names on labels. This Kansas City Chipotle is OK regarding the service; the food is great of course. I saw the workers were not communicative at all, and not upselling their products. "Would you like a drink with that" kind of thing was not happening. Also when I would ask for toppings on my burrito bowl, they would follow what I said without any "ok" or "anything else?", just dead silence. The area was clean and there was no trash anywhere. Suggest the management do a better job of training their kids. Millenials having grown up with social media often lack social skills. Didn't know you serve dog food now. Food prep area makes you feel you'll catch stomach bug by how disgusting it's kept. Every salsa is mixed with others, sour cream is different colors not white, guacamole is never fresh no matter the time of day always brown. Only thing that ever looks good is the corn and lettuce. However you say it, Chipolt-lay or Chipolt-lee, this restaurant might have its bumps along the road, but I might call myself Chipotle's Biggest Fan. They have had issues with people getting sick, and I definitely don't doubt them, but I've been here countless times and never gotten sick, so I can only go off of what I've experienced first-hand. They do get fairly busy at times, which I know is a big complaint, but I think having more customers packed in trying, desperately to get a table because they LOVE the food that much, is better than tumbleweeds. Looking past all of that though will lead you to one of the best places around. Their service has never faltered, and the people there always look happy to serve even if they're packed to the brim with orders. You can choose to have toppings, beans, rice, and meat inside either three tacos, a burrito, or a burrito bowl. This gives the person ordering practically a million different combos to choose from to concoct their masterpiece. I've tried almost everything there and it all tastes good even combined with other textures and tastes. The chips there are incredible and perfectly seasoned, with lime or whatever they use, every time. Queso and guacamole are extra, but still are nice to go along with the chips. That leads me to my one and only complaint about Chipotle: the extra charge on gauc. I know avocados are expensive and it's hard to get really good ones for guacamole preparations, but it sucks having to pay extra for something so delicious. Nevertheless, this is a minor problem and everything else about Chipotle is on point. read more

I tried to order a burrito and they said someone was cleaning the something in the back (I assume the griddle?) and I would have to wait. I asked them how long and they said they didn't know and didn't go check with the person who was cleaning it. I asked for a burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side and she said I can't do that either. I said I didn't want anything in that case and let my husband order. We got to checkout and ordered chips which they were out of. By the way we went on a Thursday night so they should still have chips which is the whole reason why we wanted chipotle. I don't know why they were cleaning the tortilla pan during business hours and not at closing. The rudeness was the worst part that there was such a lack of accommodating to us. read more
