I go here twice a week before a night class down the street. Usually short on time and looking for something fast, warm and reasonably healthy with protein and veggies. Chipotle's it is. I decided to write this review after visiting a different Chipotle's today. And, in fact, I also recalled a Chipotle's I visited regularly during the summer of 2013. The Matteson store is fast and clean. There is a young woman I've encountered twice at the start of the line (glasses?) who is a bit tarty but most of the staff is consistently friendly and efficient. Compared to the Hyde Park store, where I was today, the Matteson store consistently runs like a rocket. I'm there anywhere from 5:30p to 6p and there is ALWAYS a line. I am in the door and out with food in 10 minutes. If you are a Chipotle's fan and happen to find yourself short on time during rush hour, this is the place to go. I love it!!!! read more

Great food, lousy location. Agreeing with the other posts, even after 6 months this is one of the worst chipotle locations. Luckily even the worst chipotle is pretty good, at least in my book. Order online or on your smart phone to avoid the line if possible. Parking sucks. Despite numerous opportunities in the area, they jammed this, vitamin world and five guys in a space that was small for a gas station. Last night was my last time going to chipolte in Matteson, Il. After receiving the chard crumbs of chicken on my burrito bowl ,I requested some more chicken from a fresh batch..she sarcastically said there's charge for extra chicken!!! I explained to her she should have left over scraps in the garbage.. She said I didn't see anything wrong with what I gave you!!! This Chipotle is the worst Chipotle I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. The first time I went I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was indeed a new location. However, after several trips back I have simply determined that this is just a horrible place. The woman working the cash register gave me incorrect change for my order, and when I brought this to her attention they said they would have to count the drawer and that "there were cameras" as if I was lying about her giving me 6 dollars in change from a 20 dollar bill for one burrito bowl. It was ridiculous. Eventually I was forced to demand my 20 dollars back and return the food. I can no longer put up with such terrible service at the expense of eating Chipotle. Perhaps this is why businesses in Matteson cannot last. New management and better trained employees PLEASE. read more

Sadly I hesitated awhile going to this location because I've heard nothing but complaints since it opened. I usually go to the one in Tinley and now I will continue. Ever since this pandemic started and they began their Covid-19 protocols, we've had to order online. I absolutely don't mind ordering online, but the time estimate that I've been given via the app vs picking it up from the actual establishment has been so off. I'll put in to pick up my order ASAP (because I live 3 minutes away) and when I pick my order up at the given time, my food is cold as if it's been sitting out for an hour with the top off. I thought it was only a minor error, but it's been every single time that I've ordered my food. There's no reason why after I pick up my order (ON TIME) that I have to reheat it up. They're taking advantage of us not being able to walk in to get our food by making poor decisions with the food on the inside of the building. Freshly cooked food should be the motto. I shouldn't receive cold food especially not if I'm there on time and paying for it. You guys are gonna lose a longtime chipotle lover/member if you guys keep this up. I came in at 12:05 and left at 12:25 for a burrito bowl. I stood in line for 20 minutes waiting for the employees to prepare food for 4 people. I was late coming back from lunch break based on my long wait for my food preparation. On top of the untimely food prep, I was told that I could have only a small scoop of chicken, beans and toppings for the $13.74 since that I bought. I was highly dissatisfied. This has EXTREMELY POOR management. The few times I've been there, they are always out of something. The tables and floors are ALWAYS dirty and they expect you to eat there. The manager gets an attitude with the customers defending the stores dysfunction. They have 10 people behind the counter running around each other without someone making sure the dining area is clean. In the middle of the day on Sat. 6/2/12, they ran out of white and brown rice, chicken or steak was ready, neither was there any vinaigrette. i have had nothing but trouble with this place. I love Chipolte but the one in Matteson is a joke. I ordered a bowl and when I got back to the office it was two-thirds filled. When I called and spoke to the manager {Solomon} he informed me that they "'only fill it 4 ounces full' and that's why it looked empty" - Are you kidding me!? This is the second time that I have visited this location and the customer service is HORRIBLE!!! On both occasions there was a line outside of the door. How long does it take to assemble already prepared food? I waited nearly an hour in line at this location and when I arrived to the front the worker tells me that they have run out of several items and that there will be another 20 minute wait! Seriously?! I don't understand why they would wait until there is absolutely no more chicken prepared to tell the cook to make more. To make matters worse, the manager is incompetent. She didn't apologize or empathize with our wait. I talked to her about training her employees better on food management and she informs me that "IT'S NOT MY FAULT". She shouldn't be managing anyone. I politely asked for a side of salsa and she slammed the salsa into a container angrily as if I had offended her. Her employees behavior is unacceptable as well. I am very disappointed with the service my family and I received from the chipotle in Matteson, IL. We ordered 2 chicken bowls, 2 chicken burritos, and 2 kids meals (1 taco and 1 quesadillas). I rarely visit chipotle due to the past warnings given out about ecoli from bad meat. However we gave you guys a try again. BAD BAD BAD IDEA! The service was bad, the meat was cold, the rice was uncooked, and one of the burritos didn't have any chicken, after upset stomachs the entire night I decided to give chipotle a call the following day. The call was handed to the manager on duty by the name of Antoine who went on to tell me there was nothing he could do because I called the next day, after asking him repeatedly to have another manager call me or to escalate the situation to someone above his stature he chose to hang up on me which he repeatedly did for the following 3 calls!!!!!!!!!! It's Chipotle, so the food is good, but everything else could use some improvement. Its the smallest Chipotle I've ever seen and the line is out the door because the staff is sooo slow. I have been in chipotle with lines just as long and I would be in and out within minutes. At this location, it takes about 20 minutes. That is too long. I ordered rice on my hard shell tacos and the young lady put such a large scoop in all of them I didn't see anyway for the meat or other toppings to make it on there , I asked her twice to remove some but she was too busy laughing and carrying on with the coworkers behind me . The girl named Alexis was terrible , her attitude is very rude and the way she makes the bowls , wow !!! I have never experienced this , so imagine my surprise when I read other negative reviews. As others have stated, I was excited to see a Chipotle open closer to home. I have visited this location twice; the first time I waited 15 minutes for salad dressing all the while experiencing a hostile attitude from the cashier who at the very least should be glad someone hired her. She was rude, incompetent and completely absent-minded. I tried to put this experience behind me and returned a couple of weeks later only to wait 25 minutes for lettuce to make a salad. I decided after 20 minutes to look in the doorway of the kitchen to see if there was a garden and if they were growing the lettuce in there. To my surprise there was someone cutting a huge mound of lettuce for the salad. I asked the same RUDE and INCOMPETENT cashier if I could PLEASE have some lettuce for a salad that I had waited long enough. She said, she still has to wash it. This is where common sense should have come into play. If you have a customer waiting for lettuce for ONE salad...why not wash enough lettuce for that customer and then go back to washing the lettuce for the day (which at 2:30 p.m. should have been done already). No one thought of that, and when I mentioned it to the manager she looked at me as if I were crazy. Needless to say, I left...hungry and angry with no salad. FIRST OF ALL - FIRE THE MANAGER! Secondly FIRE THE CASHIER...need a description? She is short with glasses...get rid of her...and FINALLY RETRAIN the remainder of the staff on service, cleanliness, and time management. It's not ROCKET SCIENCE but it does require some COMMON SENSE. I will continue to drive to the Tinley Park and Orland Park locations for my Chipotle experience. I am hopeful that NO ONE from the Matteson location steps foot into the new Homewood location when it opens. I Live midway between Matteson and New Lenox. I choose this Chipotle. Yes, you have to monitor the assembly of your order but it sure beats getting home from a "Drive-thru" and having half your order missing. Not to mention the quality, freshness and sustainability of the food that you're getting, a concept that we all should get on board with. Yes, you run into a newbie that doesn't know what a "Little" sour cream means or that Guacamole is free with a veggie burrito. I'm sure it's hard to find young employees now a days that are tolerant of "in your face" complaining customers, which explains a frequent turn over in staff. The manager Miguel however is a steady fixture and is always working. My husband and I are twice-a-week patrons. I am a good cook but for the price, Chipotle is the way to go. Just a suggestion... try a little kindness when ordering, it goes a long way and pays a good return. read more

This Chipotle is very disappointing. The food is decent if you can get enough to taste. They scoop out the food as if they are feeding people for free. But we are paying a lot of money for this food (appx $10-12 for one burrito bowl). I'm paying through the nose so give me more please. While you're in line you can hear the same words echoing throughout the store from people who are placing their orders:. "Can I have more beans, Can you give me more meat, I would like more sauce," etc. No one is satisfied with the amount they give you. They are so stingy with the food It is disgusting. To be fair, I stopped going and return to the Tinley Park location, but I returned with the hope that portion control had improved. But, sadly, it has not. First let me start by saying that I think everyone complains about the portion "rations" at Chipotle. My review is more so about customer service and lack of production. Usually there's a line to the door when I go. Tonight there was only one customer in front of me. Great! So I order two Bowles to go. The gentlemen obviously did not hear me. After he fixes the first one, he looks at me confused like why are you still standing there. No big deal move on. The lady putting the meat on asks what I would like. I expected the few pieces and said extra. She then goes on and asks about toppings, in between she stops to explain to her co worker what the gentlemen in front of me had on his. She again asks what I would like, I repeat. Then she says sharply i can't hear you. I look at her like little girl i will pull you over this glass. I repeat loudly what i would like. Maybe if you concentrate on doing one thing at a time so you don't frustrate yourself you wouldn't get so upset. There are at least ten "kids" working behind the counter and with few customers i guess they had nothing better to do but play at work. I understand establishments like this hire high school kids who are willing to work for minimum wage but some kids now do not have basic skill or knowledge to handle themselves as if they are at work. I will stick to having chipotle at lunch. I can deal with the skimpy portions they give you, but ignorance i can't stomach. read more
