We are a large company and placed an online order well ahead of time. When we arrived to pick it up we were simply told that the order was cancelled and given a 1-800 number to get the $350 charge off of the company credit card. Staff was unhelpful and the manager deferred giving the bad news to the employee at the register. No stars not an option. I am very disappointed about the experience that I just had at the Chipotle in Matteson. I ordered 3 bowls and a burrito. 2 of the bowls were veggie bowls. The person waiting on me informed me that she was waiting on white rice and that she would call me when it was ready. I asked her if she was asking me to get out of line until the rice was ready. She said, Well no I guess I can just take your order. I said never mind just put brown rice on them all. I should have known that it wouldn't get better! Then I asked her to put some fajita veggies on the veggie bowl. She put it on one and not the other. When I inquired about veggies, she asked me, So you want me to put veggies on here? Staff and I visit this location for lunch today, only to find a burnt red finger nail in the corn. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was directed to someone who obviously wasn't the manager. She then stated, that she would direct me to someone higher than herself. That someone, informed me that they don't wear nails and attempted to blatantly deny the fact that a fingernail was found in my food. She clearly didn't know how to resolve the issue either. Monday, April 5, I Placed an order online at 7:15. Arrived at 7:45, the estimated pickup time and received the order at 8:40. Manager was rude and useless. For example, she offered no assistance and told me ordering online does not offer any priority in the process as online orders are mixed in with walk in orders so I just had to wait. Frustrated with that response, I asked an employee to check the status of my order and learned it was lost in the queue and never printed- so I would have been waiting forever if I didn't speak up. I completed a survey online, and requested someone to contact me about the order, and now over 24 hours later, No one has reached out. I'll chalk this up as a loss. And never visit this location again. Sad that I'll now have to drive miles out of my neighborhood to get something close to good customer service. read more

Lincoln Hwy & Cicero Chipotle is hit and miss. I tried eating here for lunch and tried them for dinner. They are consistent with their chicken it's always tender, but the rice is sometimes too firm for my liking. Chips were perfect this visit not too salty. It was clean on this particular nice, majority of the time the tables are cleared, but not clean from food residue that's one of the reasons I stopped eating in. OMG....this Covid has messed up my taste buds for Chipotle. Let me explain....I've had it before at a different location when we were able to actually go inside of the restaurant and see them make your meal. So today I used the app and ordered what I normally order. Needless to say when I looked at it and tasted it I was disgusted. I ate 3 or 4 bites and put it away. I ordered a Burrito Bowl minus the rice(watching carbs), steak, cheese, salsa, beans and lettuce. Uggggggg. It looked like it was just thrown in the bowl , and was partially cold. Granted my pickup time was 1:30 but I arrived early and it was already sitting on the table. If I waited until my pickup time it would have been 100% cold. She apologized and said she'd buy my next burrito bowl and apparently, many others have complained as well. Last week I went in again and sure enough, my rice is crunchy again. I threw out the entire bowl. I can see a one time mistake but twice in the time frame of about a month? I can cook rice at home and not mess it up. Why can't they? I boycotted this location for three months. Reluctantly, I was dragged back recently ONLY FOR THEM TO SERVE ME THE BUTT OF THEIR LETTUCE! You know the very hard, wooden stump that the lettuce grows from? That was in my burrito bowl, as well as TWO pieces of beef which I DO NOT EAT. One final note: Please stop accidently flinging your meat all over the place. The chicken is in the beef. The beef is in the sofritas (which is SUPPOSED to be vegetarian). This location continually mess up to go orders and there is no way to rectify the situation. There is no way to contact corporate and the general/regional manager Thomas McDonald don't return calls. The "manager" Karly and the little manager underneath are both RUDE!! Neither of them should have any authority to manager anything. Neither of them represent the Chipotle brand, which means the folks underneath them won't either. My order arrived at my home opened with missing items, which seems to be the norm (missing item) with this location. I'm starting to think the staff is incompetent or just don't care since they can't get thing right and the customer has no recourse for a complaint. As a resident I try to constantly patronize local business giving second chances, if necessary to keep them open, but after today I'll definitely be spending my money elsewhere. What was delivered was a burrito bowl with no chicken, no corn salsa . I attempted to call the Matteson, IL restaurant to I form your staff and see if there was a way to have another order delivered but as I suspected, no one answers the phone, even though your messages states I would be transferred to a person or transferred to the restaurant, to speak with a "crew member". I know $26.43 is not a lot but its my money and I should get what I rightfully paid for. I will never order from this ragged restaurant again. I feel like I have received the worst experience ever at the Chipotle in Matteson. When I arrived, I wasn't greeted. They were joking around and having a good time, and even though they saw me, I was ignored. Then a young lady noticed, still did NOT say hello, did not positively acknowledge me in any way, but said "one minute". I was instantly displeased at her treatment. So, I waited patiently. After a minute had passed, and no one had even looked in my direction, I said nevermind and walked to the door. On a second thought, I turned and asked to speak to a manager. As the assistant manager came out, the girl who was supposed to be making my order claimed that she greeted me. She did not. She attempted to make me look like a liar. It was embarrassing and stressful. I asked for a number to call for corporate and the assistant manager coldly told me to go on the website and send an email. She was extremely dismissive and rude. She honestly did not seem to care that her employees were not properly doing their jobs. I have never been treated like this in ANY establishment, especially not a Chipotle. I went to Taco Bell instead, and while the food is not as good, the service was excellent. I am a business owner, with a new location right across the way from Chipotle. I am also vegan and was looking for a regular restaurant that could cater to my needs. I was disappointed and totally unsatisfied with the treatment I received. I've had mixed experiences at this Chipotle. When it first opened, this Chipotle was great. The employees were running on all cylinders, the food was hot, and it was a great experience that was worth the out-the-door line wait. The long lines have persisted, but the service has fallen off a bit. On a visit last month, the girl who was making my order didn't know what she was doing (as a point of reference, I like my tacos with only meat, cheese, and lettuce- not a tough ask), and was very stingy with my ask for extra meat. The extra meat taco at this location looked like the regular meat taco at every other location. I have to agree with another reviewer that it doesn't seem like the manager knows how to prioritize responsibilities during dinner rush; employees were doing everything but taking orders, and the food wasn't at a point where anything outside of the chicken needed to be replenished. This is my go-to Chipotle, but I'll be looking to place more online orders in the future. It'll get my money because I support my community, but it isn't worth standing in an out-the-door line anymore. read more

I had a perfectly good visit to this Chipotle. I see a lot of one-star reviews here, but I think it is a bit unfair to compare this location to one in downtown Chicago. It was slightly slower than the ones I go to in the Loop, but honestly, I think the issue is more customer-related than employee-related. When I went, it seemed like many of the customers had never been to a Chipotle before, and they were trying to get a handle on the ordering process. This naturally slows things down a bit. When the customer base gets familiar with the system, I think speed will increase. That said, it really didn't take that long to get my meal, and everything was completely up to par by Chipotle standards. I also like the little outdoor seating area! Frankly, I'm just happy to have a Chipotle in the south suburbs, and I hope the arrival of this chain, 5 Guys, and Bar Louie in Matteson signal some kind of redevelopment in the area. I'm not going to give this the 1 star it deserves because this place just opened on 3/28/12. I'm guessing it's going to take some time for the employees to get their act together and for the store to order better. Anyway, here are the facts from my visit last night: I stopped in at 9:45 PM (they close at 10 PM). There was a line out the door (about 10 people) If this were any other Chipotle I would have been in and out in 5-6 minutes, instead I didn't get my food until 10:10 PM. A total of 25 minutes for food! I think a large part of the wait was that everyone was getting a burrito bowl and they ran out of bowls. The employees spent a good 5-10 minutes looking for more bowls and finally decided they would use the aluminum lids as bowls and cover them with foil (not the smartest idea but it worked). Once I got to order I realized they were completely out of mild salsa and out of cilantro. They apologized and said they didn't know they would be that busy and that they just opened. I did get a free bag of chips for them being out of things. Other than the lack of supplies, the food was still good and consistent with other locations. The employees seemed happy like the other locations as well. Again, they just opened so hopefully they can get their act together, speed things up, and order the proper amount of supplies. I'll give them another month and stop in again to see if there is improvement and edit the star rating accordingly. read more

Okay, so here's an update: I think you're going downhill, Matteson Chipotle. Two out of the last three visits (within a 10 day period) the guacamole was rancid. Look that word up: rancid. I make guac at home and I do NOT serve it to people when it has begun to turn (which it does, folks, come on now). It's a dead giveaway when it stings your tongue with a fizzy, sharp (horrible) feeling and the consistency of the guac is not firm and cold, but runny (like applesauce) and lukewarm. Also tinged brown and not avocado-green. Secondly: you remind people constantly of the upcharge for guacamole with the exception of "veggie" orders (meatless), why today - all of a sudden - there is NO verbal notification nor a posted sign anywhere that if a customer orders extra cheese, you will draw an "X" on the tin lid and then charge an extra 90 cents? Since when?? This didn't happen a few days ago and there's nothing on the internet advising of this policy change. Look. I can handle 90 extra cents of cheese on my veggie bowl if 1) the cheese is - in fact - EXTRA (don't get me started on your sad extra few strings of cheese, I'm not kidding) and 2) I WAS TOLD FIRST. Once upon a time I gave you 5 stars, today I struggle with 2 and that's only because the customers in line were so friendly while we waited patiently for you all to be better than this, alas... My family and I attempted to patronize this location in Matteson today and encountered the rudest employee.. Her name was as she said "Karly w a K. This employee refused to service me bcuz I mentioned that the veggies were still raw. After standing In line for 5 or More minutes due to there not being any veggies available to serve. An employee came from back , threw veggies onto the griddle, doused oil and some form of seasoning on them , tossed them around and placed them into the container to then be used after a minute or so. .. I noticed that the veggies to be used were clearly undercooked. When I mentioned this to the gentleman that was serving me, "Karly with a K" who was standing next to him immediately Interupted and stated "they're done" and I am refusing to serve u. I have never encounter such rudeness as what she displayed.. This is a young lady is a poor representation of this establishment.
