Having been raised on the West Coast and therefore having gone on vacation down the coast every summer to Cali and mexico ever since I could remember, I've been thoroughly disappointed with "mexican food" in PA. And although this chipotle is no exception, I guess I will rate this Chipotle high given that 1) all the other food places in state college is crap 2)The lines go quick, and it's much healthier than other fast food 3) Very filling and for the price (can usually have enough left overs for 2-3 meals) 4) Although not very authentic tasting, still tastes good. I've been to a couple of other chipotle in Philadelphia, but this one in state college always seems to have the freshest ingredients and doesn't cheap out on toppings. read more

I have been a fan of Chipotle since the franchize first opened a few years ago. When they opened one right downtown across from Penn State's campus it was a fine addition to the restaurants scene downtown. if you have never been to Chipotle, it is a conveyor belt of options that you can fill a burrito, burrito bowl or salwad bowl with. the options have all the finxings of a traditional mexican restaurant with meats ranging from chicken to barbacoa (pulled pork). The servings are filling, but if it is not enough you can add the option of chips with salsa or guacamole. They also have fruit drinks, fountain drinks and water. Chipotle is amazing, but until you have experienced its greatness for yourself, you have no idea what an amazing experience this can be! Customer service is great and this particular chipotle is quick and efficient and they also take onlne orders. Don't wait! Go there as soon as you can! read more

I have always been an avid fan of Chipotle. The food at this location is what you would expect from one of chipotle's chain restaurant. However, this is not the place you would want to go if you are in a hurry. I have waited around fifteen to twenty minutes just for a single order. The only times they are not busy during the day is around 2pm-3pm. Also I would recommend getting the bowls, because the I got a poorly wrapped burrito. When you dig into your burrito, it just begins to disintegrate and fall apart in your hands. Absolutely disgusting. Went tonight and the area with the food at food all over the counter. They were extremely slow, as when they finished putting sauces on my burrito, the server left it to me wrapped and I waited for about 3 minutes for my food to be wrapped and for my order to be rung up as a man dropped several food containers around my burrito. The customer service at this location is AWFUL. The portion sizes are far too small, the preparation is SLOPPY, and furthermore the employees are CARELESS with the orders. My order was physically THROWN to the cashier, and then slid along the disgusting counter covered in food. Chipotle, in short, is a Mexican Subway. They have a line of food with many choices. Personally, I always get the Bowl because portions tend to be bigger and it's easier to store it for later. The burritos are huge, but they're a commitment to eat. I would give most Chipotle restaurants five stars for their food and service, but the service is somewhat lacking in this one, along with cleanliness. The location, if you drive a car, is difficult to get to because of parking. To be fair, this Chipotle is located in the middle of a college town. Do not attempt to go here on weekends or whenever there's a rush, because it will be PACKED. I definitely recommend going to Chipotle and trying it out. read more

If you are looking for a quick burrito that is going to make your insides happier than the Pope on Halloween, this is your place. Zero stars if we could... We stopped in after a long drive to pick up our son from Penn State and we were very disappointed. First, about 1/2 of the soda dispensers were not working and the few that were looked filthy. The food was overcooked and very salty so something to drink would have been nice to get rid of the taste. We also asked if the restrooms were available understanding that they may not be due to COVID. The employee said that they were available and the code was on the bottom of the receipt. The manager quickly ran in and said they are not available and he has not changed the code in a while. I understand that the bathrooms may not be available but if no one knows the code, who is cleaning the bathroom? If they are not cleaning the bathroom who is cleaning at all? When the receipt was printed out the manager grabbed it and crumpled it up quickly. I feel bad for the kids working there since they are going to get the wrong idea about customer service. We don't go to that area often but we will never go to that Chipotle again. read more

I love Chipotle but wasn't happy with this one. I went on the THON fundraising day so I can understand how tired the staff was, but one lady was definitely not professional. The one lady accidentally put G for guac on my C label when I did not order guac. I told the next lady (who I had a problem with) who told the cashier that I orders chicken with guac that I did not order the guac and she paused for a sec and I said "you can look if you don't believe me" and she rolled her eyes and just yelled chicken. Chipotle is one of very few chains that I actually enjoy. Two things stand out about this location: 1. Since it's the only location in State College, it's fairly busy, so the food turnover is quick. Meaning, everything is fresher! 2. The employees are SO friendly! They are always smiling and actually treat you like a human being. Also, they know what "mix it up" means (you'd be surprised, but this is far from common). Not only that, but they know HOW to mix it up correctly (using lids, not forks, is optimal). I'm a big fan of consistency and I give the management major props because they obviously know how to hire the right people and train them effectively to keep that consistency going. Not an easy task. The food? It's a Chipotle. Everyone has their tried-and-true Chipotle order. Here's mine: Steak burrito, tiny bit of white rice, no beans, fajita veggies, mild salsa, corn, sour cream, cheese, and more sour cream. Sometimes a side of sour cream (can you tell I love sour cream?). And most importantly, MIX IT UP. You gotta mix it up. read more

Yes, I love Chipotle. But this Chipotle is a different story. Even when it's not busy it feels like they are rushing you through the line, not listening to what you are saying. AND the worst part, the portions are SMALL (never thought I'd say that about a Chipotle). If you are vegetarian, you will be disappointed. They are hesitant to give you more beans or veggies, even though you are not getting meat. So, you end up with a burrito bowl with an inch empty space on each side - inconceivable! Right? Chipotle is an amazing restaurant if you are looking for a place to get a delicious meal and spend some time hanging out with friends. With so many different combinations of meats, beans, salsas, and other ingredients Chipotle offers a wide selection of meals so that the diner will never be tired of eating there. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere of the restaurant is upbeat and fun. The staff is friendly and the facilities are kept very clean. A single complaint would be that, at times, the service can become very slow and the line can really get backed up. However, this problem is only especially noticeable during the dinner rush. All around, this Chipotle is a great restaurant to eat at if you are downtown and looking for a good meal with many possible options at a reasonable price. read more

I love Chipotle, but lately this particular establishment has fallen far from the standard most restaurants in this chain hold themselves to. I believe management has told the staff to give very little servings of each ingredient. Today I received a burrito bowl that wasn't very filling at all, and that was after I complained about the amount of chicken I was receiving. If I'm going to spend $7 on a burrito bowl, I'm going to expect the portion to keep me full at least a couple hours after I eat. If any members of management are reading this review I highly suggest you start allowing the employees to give reasonable servings if you want business to start picking up again. Maybe next time I'll go next door to Primantis, spend a couple extra dollars, and actually receive my money's worth. read more
