This is the worst place ever. Every time I go there, they are out of most options. I don't understand this. The employees laugh about it. Two times in one week they were out of staple options, however the most recent time I attempted to eat there they were apparently out of tortillas, rice and guacamole. This is so disappointing. This sucks because this location is close to my house but I'm just very annoyed. My last couple of online orders have been wrong. What's most annoying is that with an online order the order is completely written out for the server to NOT mess it up yet it still does. I guess my bad for not going in or checking on it but I never have this problem anywhere else. I even mentioned to them as I was waiting (because of course it wasnt ready on time) that my last order was wrong. On top of that... the order is never done on time. I get there early or right on time and they all look around scrambled and act annoyed I'm there.... as if I'm inconveniencing them with my order. Thanks Chipotle Team in the Vista Village. Every time I come here I'm greeted with a very big smile and it makes me happy to come to this location with workers who genuinely say hi when you walk in. Every time I've gotten a burrito from here the food has always been fresh and really tasty. So I have been ignoring Chipotle for many years now. I see their ads on the freeway almost every day on my way to work, but they still got no love from me or my wallet. So after finishing the Carlsbad 5000 I heard you can get a free burrito from Chipotle. FREE burrito? I figured I couldn't let a good burrito go to waste now, could I? Got to the front of the line with my race bib, and they proceeded to make my burrito as I watched. As they were making it, I didn't think they were giving me enough toppings, but as the burrito went down the line I realized that it was getting huge. I had it made with almost every topping that they had available, and even got a few extra's. Ordered chips to go with it, and after I sat down I started to take it down bite by glorious bite. What a fantastic burrito I thought. The salsa's were also very tasty, and went very well with my custom creation of a burrito. And here I was not giving Chipotle my undivided attention for such a long time. You should all go try it out. You might like it. read more

Simply bomb-diggity. I have no idea if that is a word but it spontaneously sprung out to me. So I am Mexican and no this is definitely not traditional Mexican food. But to me it's better. I mean I'll take their lime cilantro rice over orange/red tinted Mexican rice any day. The only thing they don't have is Al Pastor. But moving on... Only doubled edged sword about this place is that parking can be a biatch. The location is in probably the busiest shopping center in Vista. Complete with Skate shop, movie theaters, Cold Stone, Panda Express... you get the idea. Keep an eye on your mailbox if you live close because Chipotle just sent out these coupons ( 1 of which I redeemed) where you get a free burrito or a free order of tacos with purchase of a Burrito. I usually get the Veggie burrito with corn salsa, black beans, rice, cheese and guac. So freaking yum. They also have nice outdoor seating at this location. read more

Another positive Chipotle review is probably pure redundancy at this point (seriously, who HASN'T eaten here yet?), but I feel compelled to add my own five stars. Chipotle works because they focus on only making a handful of ingredients, and they make them well. They also aim to use high-quality items, whether that means organic beans, or free range pork. As a meat eater who doesn't like factory farms, I appreciate that (at least on face value), Chipotle seems to be one of the most moral chain restaurants around. Aside from that, it's the taste that matters, and that's why people keep coming back to this place. You can't really go wrong, because you get to make your own burrito as you go down the line. It's a welcome change from most places, where you either have no idea what's in your order, or you need to tweak their preset burrito configurations to fit your needs. The only downside to Chipotle is that it's not "authentic", but that's fine. When I'm in the mood, I can easily visit a hole-in-the-wall establishment, and there are plenty of those here. We love our Chipotle in North County, and I'd imagine it's even better if you live in an area that doesn't have plentiful Mexican food. read more

I've been going to this chipotle since I was in highschool... they've always been the best. Bigger scoops, nicer employees, I go out of my way to get to this chipotle if I have the chance. And today I lost my wallet... hoping they had Apple Pay so I could buy something from my phone I went in anyway. Will the Vista location ever get it together? Mediocre service, terrible serving sizes, they don't seem to know the meaning of customer service...etc. We went there last night for the first time in a while (we've repeatedly been let down by this location, so we've been sticking to the Carlsbad and Oceanside locations), and left totally disappointed yet again. Okay so its not the best food ever but as far as something I could eat every day if I had to the veggie burrito bowl from Chipotle ranks pretty high on the list. The guac is always fresh tasting, the lime rice kills it and its one of the few burrito places that knows how to cook their veggies. Normally I love Chipotle. As a health-concious individual, and a vegetarian it can be difficult to find, "fast" food with these qualities. Today they were just not on their game. They were out of brown rice and the guy in front of me wanted steak, they were out of that too. Mind you, more than five people were, "working" at the time and it was slow. The two of us being the only people in line... After a few minutes, they made him his burrito, complete with steak, and gave him a discount for waiting. I also patiently waited, and received no such discount, nor an apology. There must be new management or something because for the last few months, when I ordered food for my family over the app there has been items, and sometimes full meals missing from the bag. Not only that, but they don't even start on the order until I get to the counter. There's now a new line forming next to the counter for unfinished online orders... I started having to dissect the bag in front of the staff, and when I showed them that they were forgetting food (like a full kids meal) they acted like I was inconveniencing them. It's Chipotle! Sure, it's commercialized, the burritos are slightly expensive, but you know, when you don't feel like thinking and want a solid meal that has integrity, you can't beat Chipotle (at least Taco Bell can't). Like Chris S., I really do admire their business practices -- it speaks volumes of a company, and I don't mind paying an extra dollar or two for that. If I need food fast, I go here. I order a barbacoa-fajita burrito with black beans, rice, and corn. My burrito is not nearly as big as the others I see coming off the line, but I'm always full and happy with the meal. It's easy to downrate them because their a chain, but so is In-N-Out; as long as the food is good, fresh, somewhat healthy, and has some sort of conscience behind it, there's no reason to downgrade it. The service is fast, the staff behind the counter always tries to exchange small talk, and I haven't gotten anyone with attitude. I know Tammy B. is not a fan of the A/C, but with the recent heatwave and county blackout, sitting indoors on those warm nights is refreshing (like holding the deli door open when you're getting ice cream or milk at the store). I like the industrial look. The place is clean and right next to the Krikorian movie theater. If you're still not full after the burrito, there's a ColdStone's next door to pack in those decadent calories. In comparison to other Chipotle's, this place is as good as it gets. Can't really say anything bad about chipotle. It was getting late and I wanted something filling but relatively healthy. I got the burrito bowl with sofritas my favorite tofu filler. My boyfriend got a burrito with barbacoa which was really good too. There was no line so we got in and out. Each chipotle is different with the amount of food they give you. This time we didn't as much as other places. We also asked for the secret sauce which is hot salsa and sour cream mixed together. We usually get a whole cup full big they gave us half. Ok, bottom line, Chipotle is damn tasty; and this one was no exception in that department. However, like all chain foods, I feel they should be held to a higher standard, and in this particular case, Vista's Chipotle deviated from that standard with respect to their portions. Having gone to Chipotle in Palo Alto numerous times while living in the Bay Area, I have become well accustomed to being satisfied and full after finishing off one of their tasty burritos, no complaints. With these previous experiences in mind, I came here because I was hungry. To get a full appreciation of how hungry I was, see my review of Club M. -sorry but that salad just wasn't going to cut it. Well as it turns out, neither was this burrito. This one was seriously 2/3 the size of the ones I had gotten used to at the other Chipotle. This was such a let down. I suppose I should have picked up on the figurative and mathematical foreshadowing in the price of $6.66 Furthermore, the consistency was way off as all of the sour cream was on one end of the burrito. I know I am just being nit-picky, but Chipotle really let me down today. Maybe next time they will redeem themselves. This is just an all around great place to eat. It is healthy, a lot of organic things. Its absolutely delicious and has a great burrito that is vegan friendly. I have been here probably 40x and have only ever ordered 2 different things. One is the vegetarian burrito and the other is the chicken burrito double wrapped. They are extremely delicious and at a stellar price. The staff is so friendly and always say hello when you walk in the door. Several of us have been going here 3 out of 4 Sundays after church and I'm still not sick of this place. We've brought up to 20 people with us. This is a really great place to eat. read more

Okay, this chipotle has been here for years and it used to have quality service. However, my boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Friday night at 7:00pm. We both had a craving for the crunchy tacos and when we asked for them, they said they were all out and that they had been out for the last two days. Then when it came to making our burritos, the woman wrapping them was absolutely awful. I'm sure she's a sweet girl who was just learning but the burritos fell apart when we unwrapped the foil. As always the burrito was good, I ordered using the online app which makes it so easy. Just go in and pick it up, skipping the line is great. The oooooonly issue I had and I know it'll sound silly, but I added guacamole and it didn't get in my burrito.
