I hate to complain about lunch under $10 but Hey it is my $10! My corn was ice cold. Normally I wouldn't bother to complain but this is the second time this has happened to me at this location. OK...let me first say that I LOVE LOVE chipotle. This place, though, is a different story. I have been to many many Chipotle's in D.C. and this location is terrible. They even mess the recipe. They put way too much lime juice to the rice, the fajita is over cooked and the meat is somewhat bland. Don't get me started on the service that is extremely slow and it is served with an attitude. First time I went, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So tried it again last night and it will be the last on at this location. They are extremely slow. Stayed in line for 20 mins and it took another 15 to get through the selections because they were either short staffed, busy with something else or whatever. By the time you pay for the food, the rice and warm ingredients are already cold. In short, this place is a waste of time and money. Thank you! read more

Terrible. A half hour before stated closing time they were out of vegetables and chicken and flatly refused to restock because it was too much trouble. So what we have here is a group of Chipotle employees unwilling to provide a customer, during business hours, with key ingredients of nearly all their products. This certainly isn't the best chipotle in the world, mainly because of their unattentive staff (I once had to yell to the back of the kitchen to ask for a cashier - none of the kitchen workers offered any assistance). However, I love that they have absolutely no sense of portion control, and will give you as much meat, rice, toppings etc as you ask without charging you extra. read more

I believe I timed it just right when I visited this Chipotle. It seems that every time I go to Chipotle...anywhere...the line is always long. There was 1 person in front of me and it only took about 3-5 minutes from the time I walked in the door to the time I paid for my meal. This location was clean, the the ingredients were fresh, the portion was hefty and the service was fast! Not the best customer service. Felt rushed the whole time. Forgot salsa with my chips and put someone else's burrito in my bag. Hopefully they didn't charge me for it. My girlfriend lost the receipt. First off, I love Chipotle and would give it 5 stars, so my rating should be interpreted as a comparison of this location to other locations. This place is newly built, so I guess they're in the middle of adjusting. The first time I came here, my Chipotle experience left me with such a lingering disappointment ("disappointment" is a total understatement) that I had to remedy the situation later in the week by visiting my good old reliable location in Rockville. The steak was way overcooked, rice tasted like Fojol Brothers rice (too much water, undercooked and broken... to be fair I haven't eaten FB's in over a year), and the ratio of onions to peppers in my fajitas was too high. Today, my Chipotle is less disappointing, but still, there were problems with the steak. What's wrong with them? Why are they including the tendon and fatty pieces? Why aren't these parts being trimmed off? There were definitely little cubes of fat in my bowl. I like tendon, but they're not cooking the steak long enough for the tendon to reach the right texture. The steak was less overcooked but still too chewy. I think I'll have to wait a while for this place to get it right before I will return. A more reliable Chipotle location would be Union Station. read more

It's a chipotle, so the food is what it is. But if you're looking for chipotle, why not go to one that actually has the ingredients you want? This location has pretty much never not been out of tons of stuff. Today, they were out of the mild salsa, the soda machine was broken, and they'd run out of cilantro for the rice. Honestly, how does a pseudo Mexican fast casual place run out of pico de gallo and cilantro? Cilantro?! I've frequently had to wait five minutes or more for chicken, which i only did because they would also be out of steak and barbacoa. Guacamole being in stock is a blessing. The soda machine is frequently on the fritz. Honestly, things I've never experienced once at other locations are daily occurrences here. The one in Chinatown is pretty nasty, but at least you'll get what you're looking for. Go there if you REALLY want chipotle for some reason. Otherwise, go to el sol for good Mexican, or anywhere else for better food and a fully stocked menu. read more

Food poisoning on Saturday, June 19. My wife ordered the carnitas bowl with black beans, lettuce and mild sauce. I ordered the barbacoa burrito with everything, guacamole and spicy sauce. Within 6 hours of the meal, we were vomiting throughout the night, extremely nauseous, and had diarrhea. We were sick for approximately 24 hours. read more

I love Chipotle, but something about this location just didn't do it for me. I'm not a fan of the location as I don't consider it metro accessible, and it is a pain to drive to as street parking is limited so unless I'm going to safeway and already in the garage I would skip here. Traffic in this area is also pretty bad at times so that affects my decision. The service line didn't seem to organized. I ordered two burrito bowls, one with brown rice, one with white rice. The white rice ran out as she was making my bowl and there was only 1/2 spoon left. Instead of getting another container of white rice, she was just like I'll put more beans. Eh, I don't want a bowl of beans and a teaspoon of rice. Just turn around and get more rice or ask me if I want brown and white which I would have settled for. I also got chips and guac, which was a waste since the two large chunks of avocado took up most of the space. The place was relatively clean, staff eh whatever. I doubt I would come back here again unless my girlfriend wanted it and I was already at safeway. I'll stick to the union station location. read more

I typically don't review chains like this, but this one is pretty bad. I've only been there a few times, but on those few times, I've had missing ingredients, and I've watched the big tattooed guy cooking chicken and then eating a piece of chicken off the utensil he was cooking with, and another guy drop a cooking utensil on the floor, then put it back on a surface where it may very easily be picked up and reused. It may have taken a while for the folks at this location to get settled, but now they are on the move and operating like a well oiled machine. If you go to this location, and they are packed, you won't have to wait long in the line. They efficiently serve everyone, including those with odd and particular requests, with a smile.
