This chipotle location is very spotty. I've had very good, large chipotle burritos here. I've also had small, terrible burritos here that make me sick and aren't good value for my money. It all depends on the worker I guess. Sadly, this seems to be a theme in DC...versus the chipotles I used to frequent in Michigan that gave me a huge delicious burrito every time. The guac is always good, but this location needs to step it's game up a little. My last few barbacoa burritos have been lacking meat. Also, there is no outside seating here anymore. That used to be a nice touch, as there is a huge open space for patrons to sit. Sadly...it's gone now. If this were any other restaurant I probably would never come back here. But my love for chipotle/lack of fast food in woodley park keep me returning. read more

I've eaten in plenty of Chipotle as I really love their burrito bowl but this is defintely one of the worst . This review has nothing to do with the food, it's always the same from place to place however the customer service in this place is horrible. The staffs spends more time talking to each other behind the serving line than to the customer. The gentleman that was serving me was talking to his co workers about his night last night and it took us 5 minutes to get my food when there was one lady in front of me and no else behind me. If you frequent Chipotle you know they have this process knock down to a science and you are served in less than 1 minute The serving here is much smaller than any Chipotle I have been as well. This is the most disgusting Chipotle I've ever been to. The store was absolutely disgusting. They were also out of chicken and no one "wanted" to make more chicken. I saw an employee pick a piece of chicken up from the countertop and place it in my bowl. I then asked for steak instead because I was so grossed out, and he dumped that chicken back into the bowl. Completely unsanitary. Above that, the staff was rude and careless. There was food all over the floor, the trash cans were overflowing, and not one table was clean. I asked an employee if they minded cleaning a table for my mom and me​ to sit at and he refused. I think I'll peek through the windows before I ever go back. Mediocre service. Employees hanging around on their phones and with backs turned. Ice dispenser had no ice. Most food pans low or empty. Fajitas old and dry. Cooks prepping food with bare hands (no gloves). The only redeeming trait is the bathroom is clean. Skip it! I love chipotle and I have it very often but the employees were not so great. I ordered my burrito and a quesadilla for my mom and they charged me for extra chicken but they i never asked for any. Then when I asked about it they whispered to each other and looked at me weird and then didn't remove the charge. I love Chipotle. So let's just get that out of the way. That being said, this is probably the best one in the district for short lines and ease of getting there. It's serviced by a bus, a circulator and a metro stop and yet the lines are always reasonable every time I go there. The staff is great and the place is clean. This is a rather disappointing Chipotle. Serving sizes are subpar. I ended up paying extra for more chicken once I realized that the first half spoon of chicken I received was all I was going to get. The result was another half spoon of chicken. As my meager burrito moved down the line every employee had to note that there was extra chicken on the burrito so the cashier would know to charge for the extra. Perhaps it's just me, but I think extra chicken should be evident from a more abundant amount of chicken in my burrito rather than a verbal persuasion. Of course, without the verbal confirmation the cashier would have never guessed considering how little chicken was in my burrito. Better luck next time! read more

Great burritos; Chipotle burritos are my favorite, hands down. Their menu is short, fresh, and delicious! The guac isn't bad (tasted fresh) but I always think it's a bit over-priced; just stick with the burrito, you can't go wrong. I've been to this place a few times since it's near our apartment; no problems with this joint when I've been here... both over the years and recently. Location here on the corner is nice (and convenient to metro... but no eating on the metro!). read more

There's something about Chipotle restaurants in the District. Why are they such a letdown compared to the Chipotles I grew up with? In any case, the Woodley Park store is the epitome of mediocre. It's a slight improvement from the location a mile down Connecticut, but it's hardly the best one around. The lines typically don't get too long, but the staff is often very slow. The inconsistency of the food is the biggest issue though. Sometimes you'll go and it will taste OK, other times you go and someone will have gone wild with the salt shaker. It's too bad, it's locations like this that make me wonder if the entire Chipotle brand is as good as I remember it. read more

This Chipotle is about a 5 minute walk from my apartment, and on the way from the Woodley Park metro exit home, so I commonly will order dinner online from the office and pick it up on the way home if I'm working late. Since the beginning of the new year, something has gone wrong every time I visit, just some highlights: 1. Ordered a burrito, burrito bowl, two bags of chips and guacamole. Went to pick it up, was charged for all of those items, received two large bags--no chips or guac. Called to ask if my boyfriend had left a bag on the counter, "no, we're out of guacamole today." What? 2. "I have an order to pick up at 6:15 that I placed online. It's under Callie, and it's paid for." At 6:20, they tell me that they never made it, and to hold on. Then the try to charge me twice. 3. Yesterday, some friends and I wanted something quick after wandering the zoo. I was ordering a bowl for myself and a burrito for my boyfriend. When we got back to the roof deck to open our food--everyone else had these enormous burritos, so much so that my perpetually-hungry boyfriend was even impressed--and I somehow ended up with a child's serving worth of food. Despite ordering: double white rice, fajita veggies, extra black beans, steak, corn salsa and "like a boatload of cheese," in both...I got a drizzling of each. They charged me for "extra" on both items, and I was still hungry after my meal--I'm a small girl, I can rarely finish a burrito bowl in one sitting. If you're diligent, and not expecting the sort of standardized service that you get when ordering online for the M street Chipotle, or visiting another location--you're fine. Make sure to check the bag before you leave, and watch what they throw in the bowl if you're ordering multiple entrees at once. read more

A clean and friendly Chipotle! The service was fast and the workers were pretty generous with the toppings. If not, the employees were nice enough when I asked for an extra scoop of something (i.e lettuce, corn, salsa, etc.). This place is like any great Chipotle! It's also very conveniently located near the metro stop making it the perfect place for that quick grab and go to carry with you to your next destination. I'm a huge Chipotle fan and have been eating at this chain at locations throughout the country for years. I wish I could rate my experience at Woodley Park Chipotle even lower than 1 stars. The employees are rude and thoughtless, which believe it or not is the least of Chipotle's problems. I'm a vegetarian and have enjoyed ordering a sofritas burrito bowl since Chipotle came out with the dish. Typically, it's great! Today i ordered my standard sofritas, black beans, lettuce, mild salsa, sour cream, and cheese bowl to go. When i got home and started eating, i noticed something very sharp in my mouth after i had taken my fourth or fifth bite of the dish. I removed what appears to be either a bone or a piece of sharp plastic. This is concerning because not only am I a vegetarian who does not eat any meat, so i have no idea why a bone would be in my meal, but it is also a massive safety hazard. I tried to get in touch with chipotle HQ and they told me they'd give me a call, but haven't managed to reach out. If you are in the area and craving Mexican food, I'd proceed with caution. Looks like this is the end of my chipotle dining experience, as i most certainly won't be eating at the chain in the future. Such a shame they lost a consistent patron, and something tells me this won't be the last time this happens to them. read more

I'm not a huge tex-mex fan and even less of a fan for fast food chains, so I've always turned my nose up at suggestions of going to Chipotle. Until about 2 weeks ago, I thought of Chipotle as the place that serves ginormous but gross burritos, but little did I know that you can get a substantial salad that's full of flavor without the rice and beans that always make you feel so bloated! Under the apprentice of big eaters and seasoned Chipotle vets, I have now mastered THE thing to order at Chipotle - salad, with double meat but also two kinds of meat (best mix is carnitas and chicken), regular salsa, chili-corn salsa, cheese, sour cream, and extra guac, topped with some hot sauce. Best "salad" ever. Yeah, I think calling it a salad is a bit of a stretch since you only get a small hand full of romaine lettuce, but it's definitely worth the three-times-of-your-daily-recommended sodium! read more

I love Chipotle as a brand but I have to give this location a 1-star rating. The employees here are extremely unprofessional and rude. They have no problem having inappropriate conversation amongst themselves but then can't even utter a single word while taking your order. I have gone through the line several times and the guy making my burrito just stares at me with a blank expression without asking if he can take my order of what I would like. Have stopped here twice this week, while visiting from out West. I ordered the salad. Found the meat to be nicely seasoned, lettuce to be fresh, salsa tasty, sour cream, cheese, guacamole really, really flavorful and one heck of a lot of food for the price. The chips were tad dry, but good. That kind of guac will make anything taste like heaven. Also, the sauce they give you is spicy, but not just for the sake of being spicy....so much goodness. Came in today using a coupon that chipotle mailed to my home: buy one, get one free. So I ordered my bowl and my son got an order of tacos. Presented the coupon to the cashier and she wouldn't take it, saying it was already used. I insisted it's never been used (and it's not expired either). The whole time she had an attitude and kept saying, "well it wouldn't go through. All the other coupons gave me no trouble. This one is used." So I told her: "well don't you take the coupon after you scan it? Why do I still have it if it's used?" That threw her off guard and said, "yeah, but..." She had no explanation. Then one of her co-workers showed up and told her what to do. She apparently didn't push the right buttons to activate the coupon. And that's it. No apologies whatsoever. I completely agree with Chris K's review. For the past 12 months, I've probably eaten at this particular Chipotle in Woodley Park an average of 3 times a week. That's a lot. I'm probably one of their best customers. BUT. Every time I go in, I pray the "skimpy employees" won't be working. But they always are. It's like the management of this particular Chipotle makes a point to tell the employees to not pile on the meat or the salsas or the cheese or the sour cream or even the lettuce. And for the past 12 months I've consistently felt like I was not getting my money's worth. The Chipotle in China Town is 10 times better at giving you the more standard over-sized Chipotle meal. I can't wait for the Chipotle in Columbia Heights to open so I can stop going to this skimpy Chipotle. read more

I love Chipotle, but this is the worst one I've been to. Service was poor, the staff had trouble completing basic requests. I always ask to have my burrito mixed before it is wrapped so you don't get bites of only rice, etc. It's never been a problem before, but the employee said they didn't tell her to do that so she wouldn't. They also put smaller portions of meat than any other one I've been to. Maybe I'm spoiled being from Colorado where chipotle was started, but this was a bad experience for me. read more
