This is hands down the best auto shop I've ever patronized in my entire life. Not only are they honest, but their prices are *reasonable*! I never feel like they're trying to pull a fast one on me, and they only recommend what's needed at the time with a heads up on things to be prepared for in the near future. This helps me budget my car expenses which I appreciate so much since I drive for a living (Lyft). The cherry on top is that it's WOMAN OWNED!!! I've quit going to the dealer and other chain auto shops because I feel like as a woman I'm frequently taken advantage of. (Even if I wasn't, the average person is not a car expert, so it's easy for them to rack up the bill and me unknowingly handing over a credit card.) Dina is *so* good about explaining the issue, the parts that are needed, and what may have caused it. I honestly learn so much about cars every time I come here. I had 4 new tires put on my Buick. Before they did my alignment, they found some suspension parts that needed replacing and we decided to get those done too. A mechanic showed me exactly what was wrong with my car in person. Everything was done efficiently and within a few hours. I brought it back after a vibration came up at highway speeds about a week later and they found the problem within minutes and fixed it free of charge. I always liked this place for tires. They are quick, reliable and honest. I took it to have my new, performance brake pads installed. 3 weeks later there was CRAZY squeaking. Ear piercing. I finally took it back and saw that the rotors were wearing very quickly and poorly. They said nothing was wrong and to contact the manufacturer. I spent weeks going back and forth with experts. I finally took it to the experts at EcoTech. I needed ALL NEW brakes AND rotors. The backing plate had not been put back on the pads. I have the pads, they look totally funky. $600 later (after the first $400), lesson learned. I still come for tire changes but ONLY that. read more

Was having tracking issues w/my older model car. Concerned the issue might be serious but was hoping I just needed an alignment/tire rotation. Had been to Chippewa Tire several years ago and they were friendly, efficient & priced right. So, thought I'd go back and see if they could diagnosis the issue w/my car. The two technicians suspected an alignment problem. The alignment tech was knowledgeable and performed the tire rotation and alignment and found no other issues. I had hit a concrete divider while turning onto a street the night before. Roadside assistance arrived and removed damaged tire and replaced with my spare tire. The tire technician told me to find any tire shop to have tire repaired. After doing a search on yelp and reading reviews, I called Chippewa tire. Dina answered and was so friendly, understanding and extremely helpful! She told me to bring the car in and they would take a look at it. Upon arrival, met Dina in person and my car was immediately taken in. Not only was my tire replaced quickly, she also provided a military discount! I was in and out within the hour! (May have been only 30 minutes actually!) Outstanding customer service and support from Dina and Chippewa tire especially today when customer service is so lacking. I have had a CRAZY time with SEVERAL of my tires ever since I bought my car from the Chevy dealership last year. Up to this point, I've already replaced 4 of the four tires on the car and every time had a great experience with Chippewa Tire. But this last time, was the most memorable and appreciated... My front, right tire had a gouged rim that was causing a slow leak. For weeks I didn't want to address it, just because it wasn't a bad leak. But eventually the leak started getting worse and worse. I had taken it to Chippewa first for an estimate and then also (admittedly) took it to the dealership to see if they could do better on the price. Well, the dealership treated me like a number and also failed to address the real problem (which was the bent rim)... The fixed the valve that was leaking air and sent me on my way- but that was no where near what it needed. They ended up telling me they could give me a discounted price, that was 80 bucks more than Chippewa because they said they wouldn't use "used." (Insert scoff...) So, after all that hastle, I went back to Chippewa and got the new to me rim (which was what I wanted). THEN, ONE week later the SAME tire ends up going flat over night. This was perplexing. I called them because I thought maybe it was related to the former issue. Mitch, was concerned and DROVE to my HOUSE to look at the tire for me after he left his shift that day (yesterday). Upon taking the tire, he found it was a totally different issue. This time, I had run over a screw! (I do a LOT of driving...) But, within 12 hours, Mitch had replaced my tire AT MY HOUSE by removing the old one and taking it to the shop and brining it back first thing in the morning. I hit a huge pothole (St. Louis toads, amirite?) and destroyed a tire. I was able to bring it in and get a replacement the same day, even though it had to be ordered. The price I was given is the price I paid. Everyone was friendly and there were no attempts to upsell me anything I didn't need or get me to buy multiple tires. They even aired up all of my tires before I left. We like to keep our business local whenever possible, and we will be returning for oil changes, brakes, and more tires as needed! read more

im a mechanic . Her mechanics are very inexperienced. I take the vehicle there for alignment . they did not listen about the previous mechanic of theirs and what had been done to the car from something that her mechanic discovered previously. she notified me that I am not able to speak with a mechanic. Everything Hass to go through her. So it is impossible to convey any kind of messages. They are so expert that they need to zero input. This is very very cocky and they've done good business before but I highly suggest you do not waste your money with this business that's going down the tubes. read more

Epic Fail... Went in for tire rotation. After leaving I started feeling a strange thumping noise. I looked out the side mirror and saw that the rear wheel was slanted. I pulled over right away and saw that the wheel was only on by one lug nut. Thank God It didn't come off and get me killed. They apologized, refunded my $24, and will order a new wheel. Great! These folks were a lifesaver. I had a slow leak in the back tire and made an appointment for Thursday morning at 9 AM. They were ready when I arrived. After a few minutes the mechanic came out and explained that I had three foreign objects in my back passenger tire. Worse than that, my front passenger tire had worn so badly on the inside treads that the steel belts were showing through. The mechanic explained this is what they call an absolute, 100% blowout coming! They took great care of me and got me back on the road within 30 minutes without breaking my budget. I will be going back to get an alignment, as that is what caused the horrible west. Reasonable pricing, quick and efficient service and knowledge. read more

The people at Chippewa Tire are the friendliest, most helpful and honest that I have ever encountered in auto service. The typical auto service experience is intimidating and you constantly feel like you are being ripped off. I have never felt any of those things here, and always the opposite. I recently had an issue with a sensor on my car that I was unaware of. They did a great job of explaining the problem, the costs involved, and why it was important to address. Most tire dealers would have tried to sell a new tire, however, Chippewa Tire repaired it with an inside patch, which restored the tire to former condition. I will seriously only ever take my car to these people! They are totally price conscious - the first time I went in, I had a tired I tried to have patched. It couldn't be done, and I was visibly distraught because I was fairly broke at the time. The guy helping me at the time was so nice, he let me know they sell used tires that are as good as new for very little, and they put that on my car (labor included) for only $60. For reference, I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I took my husband's car here for an oil change ($30) and two tires to be put on and they beat the online warehouse we had previously bought tires for his car for by about $40 including labor. They are the best and nicest in STL, in my opinion! read more
