My husband and I stumbled upon this place while staying at a nearby B & B. We placed our order at the counter and were given an approximate wait time for our food to be prepared. The set up is typical local deli style - don't expect fast food turn around times. There is a small dining area for those who wish to eat there. It has small tables and chairs and may not be the most comfortable - we placed our order to go. One cool thing about the dining area is that there are shelves & shelves of books! The place serves as a book swap, so you can take a book, trade books, or leave a book. There is also free wifi. Now to the best part - the food! I had the Greek sub and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Perfectly done! If I lived close by, this would probably become a favorite of mine. read more

What happened to this eatery? I've eaten here on many occasions in the past and it was always good. We moved away from the area and only recently returned. We ordered a pizza to go and it should have gone...in the garbage! It was burnt, tasted like cardboard and the pepperoni actual "cracked" in half when you touched it. I don't recall there being any cheese on it and all the toppings were unrecognizable. The cost of this pizza was over $19 and when I called to complain they asked that I bring the pizza back. Hello, it's not like we live around the block. Now I've got to waste more time and gas driving back to show you this pizza so I can get credit? You know when you took the pizza out of the oven that it should not have left the restaurant. Needless to say we will not be ordering anything every again from Chirios. read more

That is the most annoying thing about this place, mostly because they don't offer quality chips to make up for it--only lousy ones. One and done. We ordered two large pizzas for delivery and could not have been more disappointed. On the supreme pizza there were almost no toppings and I think they honestly forgot the cheese on both pies. The only redeeming part was the crust but that wasn't enough to make the pies enjoyable. read more

Ordered here while Visiting wintergreen area with a group of friends, we got the veggie, cheese and pepperonis. The pizza was delicious. The veggie was especially unique and amazing! Even better was the experience. We called before delivery opened and asked them to pick up ear plugs and tums. After a good laugh, he actually agreed to it and brought them! Staff was so kind and helpful. We got pizza (which was fantastic) and sat outside on the picnic tables. It was a really nice experience and would definitely come back. The owner is lovely and friendly. It's not that New York pizza that you're of nor greasy pizza from the big franchises. The pizza dough and toppings here are fresh, simple, and tasty. We were vacationing and wanted some pizza, NY style, sounded great. It was flat and definitely NOT NY style. Unless you define NY style pizza as the sizes available. The worst service!! Called in an order for three large pizzas and two salads....was told it would be 1hour. Okay. So we waited. And waited. Only to receive a call back from the restaurant, well AFTER an hour, stating they were just leaving to delivery the food. Worst part was whomever called had a TON of attitude. We are staying at Wintergreen, and after getting in late on our travel day, we didn't feel like going out to eat! Luckily Chirios will deliver if you order over $25. We had 3 pizzas (all toppings are just pick your own, so we got creative) and the Greek salad with chicken (the salad was the best!!!!). We attempted to order over the phone - the owner refused to describe the ingredients on a veggie pizza - because he was too busy. He was rude throughout the call - to the point that we told him to cancel the order. He rudely stated "this is not Dominos" - he is right, Dominos would have better customer service. read more

I get that one shouldn't expect good exceptionally quick at places other than McD's, but Chirios should be renamed Molasses. We've eaten there twice and the wait was absurd in both cases. We stayed at wintergreen and wanted delivery service while we were there. I called days ahead of time to be sure they deliver to the resort, which they said they do. When we actually called to order, the person we spoke with gave us a hard time about placing an order for delivery and demanded we tip well (which we did and would have without being told to). The phone service was awful, although our delivery guy was nice. However, there pizza was the worst we've ever tasted!!!! Tasted like it had been microwaved. Would not recommend. This was the sketchiest place we have ever eaten. It was dirty, and the girl working was unfriendly. The plastic utensils were in a dirty cup on each table. The cups for the drink machine were stacked next to the machine and were the small coffee foam cups. The furniture was old, worn, and mismatched like it was all donated from a thrift shop. This place is the best thing about living in Nellysford. Quiznos ain't got nothing on this place. It's called Chirios Pizza, but the best thing about here is all their sandwiches. They toast their subs, long before Quiznos was around, and they're all quite delicious. Their sandwich called "Recovery" is definitely one of the best options; open face pita sandwich. Their salads are ridiculously huge, two people could easily share one and then split a pizza or something. Ordered pizza for a group of young teens. Was told delivery would take 1-1.5 hours, 2 hours later we're calling to the store and told food was on the way. 15 mins later food finally arrives. We open the door and the delivery person walks right into to the house to the kitchen as if she lived there. Delivers pizza and then tells us she has NO change. None. Not happy we have to fork over a $15 tip for late pizza, but I've got 10 hungry teens. And to top it all off, pizza sucks. If you like toppings on cardboard, perhaps this would suit you. Chirios Pizza has consistently delivered great pizza and sandwiches. We Orders can be slow, but this is partly because the owner rolls out the pizza dough for each order. We typically put an order for pick up as soon as we get off Interstate 64, timing usually works well. The owner is almost always there and has been since the 80's. read more

I have always found Bill and company to do a good job at a great price. I do not care much for pizza and a veggie pizza,,hell no. For a good bang for the buck go for the Hot Italian sub.
