I find the staff always friendly and the waiting area welcoming. The treatments help, Dr. Maxwell gives suggestions on how we can help ourselves, and it all works for me. I'm 84; you can figure that I don't have the flexibility I used to, and encounter a few problems due to "office" chair or work in a steep back yard. I've worked through a couple episodes of sciatica. I was interested in scheduling an appointment to find a solution for my chronic pain, but I wanted to do my due diligence before providing any personal info -- particularly after seeing the reviews here of the concerning billing practices. When they called in response to my request for an appointment, I kept an open mind and the clerk was friendly and respectful -- but when I asked for specifics about potential costs, she became notably evasive and declined to provide the requested info. She asked me for my insurance straight off, so they could see what it would cover. I declined to give her that and said I wanted to know what the out-of-pocket costs might be before I decided whether to involve my insurance. She said "OK" and then told me about their deal of $97 for new patients -- which includes the consultation and X-rays. Sounds intriguing but "does that include any adjustments?" I asked -- "No," she said. "Ok, how much does an adjustment typically cost?" I asked, thinking this is an obvious, ordinary question since one typically doesn't seek out a chiropractor only to not have any adjustments done. She replies, "Well, we have a few different plans, which we can tell you about once you have had your consultation." "So... I can't know how much this might cost me until I'm already there and committed to my first appointment at a cost of $97?" I asked. "Yes, we only give that information in person," she says. That is just downright suspicious. I told her I didn't feel comfortable with the lack of transparency, and she just politely said if I changed my mind, I could call back. No attempt to ease my concern or rebut in any way that they lack transparency. I appreciate she was respectful -- but there's something genuinely fishy going on when a business can't be upfront with its prices. It's even more egregious when considering this is a health care business and that the people needing these services are more likely than not individuals in chronic pain. Shady business practices like this are how you take advantage of people -- not how you build trust with new customers, let alone secure loyal ones for the long term. I'll be looking elsewhere for a chiropractor that I can TRUST and that demonstrates TRANSPARENCY with their potential customers. read more

I tried it, but was aware of the negative reviews. They're all in when your initiating new patient set up and taking you money. Checking in is cumbersome and ineffective on their small screen, where you have to repeat the process over and over for each troublesome area. I get reduces labor input in their part, but seems very flat and narrow while trying to relate my concerns. Tried 2x, but decided not to return. Had to chase them multiple times for 1 month to get and answer. For a small place, turned off by staff's lack of follow up and accountability. Will revert back to my previous chiropractor who's more effective, accountable and trustworthy. Also, it was a turn off when I inquired about the reviews regarding payment, they were quite negative saying the patients didn't understand their insurance. I get that, but in hindsight think it's reflective of the unhelpful nature if the office. The level of professionalism is lacking. I don't recommend this place. read more

Always a pleasant visit, the team is so great and make me feel welcome and happy to see me. Dr Maxwell keeps me relaxed and talking through my adjustment and has really brought me to a level I haven't felt in so long! I'm not in constant pain, I honestly didn't even notice so the check in process helps you see how you're progressing. Definitely recommend! read more

Can see that the reviews are pretty split and feel I must agree with being disgruntled about their billing practices. Wish I had not been in so much pain because I did not do my due diligence and did not take the time to read about the billing issues which were posted by other patients as this was also one of my issues as well. Insurance was taking too long to pay so I was taken to small claims court by the doctor's retired attorney husband and ended up paying out of pocket nearly $1k until I was reimbursed by the insurance company after getting to go to court twice in Issaquah. No fun. The chiropractic services are fine but the clinic set up is not for me. The waiting room is small and includes the check-in desk where personal information is discussed out in the open for all to hear. The adjustment tables are in open air cubicles where we can hear each other being adjusted and the doctor discussing our medical conditions. Don't know about you but I neither want to hear other's medical issues nor do I care for them to hear mine. read more

It is affordable, they take different kinds of insurance, and they are willing to help find the best way to pay for chiropractic care that works for you. The facility is conveniently located and is easy to find. The space is always clean. Their check in system is quick and easy and allows you to efficiently report the state of your body at each appointment. I live in the area and have been wanting to try this place. I finally made a visit today just to understand their billing practice after reading a few of the negative posts here. If you are in any type of business, it's important to provide a frustration free experience and be clear about what the patient should expect to pay so their are no surprises in the end. I told the younger receptionist that I would be a new patient & asked what their price is for adjustments per visit. She asked me if I have insurance and I told her yes, but I would rather pay out of pocket due to my very high deductible. She hesitated and said well the price for adjustment DEPENDS ON EACH PATIENT. I thought that was INTERESTING because most chiropractic offices will tell you what their standard price is per visit. Then she said we never give out our prices but if we do let me see if another receptionist will tell you. Then, as the other receptionist makes her way down to me she whispers & asks the younger receptionist if I have insurance. She didn't think I heard hear whispering. Clearly they really badly wanted to bill my insurance because she stated "we need to pull up your insurance information to let you know our price". I stated AGAIN I don't plan to use insurance and she proceeded with then the first appointment will be $95 for an assessment. I asked if the "assessment" includes an adjustment & she said no, it's just as assessment which included exams/x-ray but if you have x-rays from another place and bring it in then it would be $70 and that would include adjustments. After the first visit though they refused to give me a standard price for adjustments which I find very shady. It also seems like the receptionist get annoyed and nervous when they talk about price and they were not personable or friendly AT ALL. I am sure any Doctor would like to have more established patients but when you have your front desk being this secretive about pay right from the start, you KNOW you are not going to be in good hands here. I hope the Doctor reads this because as a business owner myself, first impressions and customer service is everything and so is word of mouth. I won't be coming back & do not recommend this place based solely on my experience with the receptionist and their secretive pay practice. This shows all the negative comments are true. read more

My husband and I were looking for a new Chiropractic office and we're so glad we found Dr. Melinda Maxwell and her team. The intentionality from them to build a relationship with us has been phenomenal. Being business owners ourselves, we appreciate the time Dr. Maxwell takes to invest in her patients and their families to build a relationship and trust. Being parents of a toddler, it's especially nice that the ladies at the front desk offer to help keep an eye on our little man while mama and daddy get adjusted. So, needless to say the environment and culture they've created is a standard of excellence that my family and I appreciate. Another bonus is the wealth of knowledge that Dr. Maxwell shares with us to improve our lives, from little stretches and exercises that we can implement into our daily lives has been so helpful. My husband and I have suffered from multiple car accident injuries along with what we do for a living that takes a toll on our bodies so those stretches and exercises have added so much value to us. We've consistently come out of every adjustment appointment improved and we're beginning to see the compound effect of the treatments and the effort we've put in at home. They billed my insurance wrong, and they didn't tell me and my daughter that insurance doesn't pay them, until we completed(Seven) appointments .And they make us pay for it all. Great chiropractor! Horrible billing. No complaints at all about either chiropractor, they were excellent when I went in. However the billing has been problematic several times. Receiving a bill more than five months after the visit (despite checking with the desk after every visit to be sure the account was current and paid) and getting no offers of working out the payments makes it so I will not be returning after the latest billing pain. The answer I got was "you should already have known your portion of what to pay" apparently regardless if what the office staff said. Sorry to have to find a new chiropractor, but this last billing issue was the one too many. read more

I recently experienced some pain in my wrist that led me to believe that my career as a massage therapist was in jeopardy. After two treatments from Dr Maxwell the pain subsided and has not since returned. She is wonderful at pinpointing the origination of the pain source and effectively addressing the issue . She also has helped me in my heath awareness by referring me to a foot reflexology and recommending that I get some tests done that I was able to have my regular Dr attend to. I was able to get my concerns addressed and without her I would have been completely unaware. read more

This place has changed hands many times in the several months. Nice enough facility but I agree with the post regarding unprofessional billing practices. I received a bill months after my appointments for a co-pay that I was never asked for...and would have gladly paid. Then the past due was inflated for late fees. A work from home legal guys started sending threatening notices, scheduled a small claims court date, never returned my calls for how to pay, the balance continued to increase. I ended up taking time off work and paid trumped up charges just to get this guy off my back. Very upsetting, stressful experience. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews - I have never had any billing or care issue here, but then I also understand my insurance and that I will likely have out of pocket costs because, well.. INSURANCE, which is the pitts sometimes. It's always important to know what you are covered for and even then the insurance company surprises you sometimes. As someone who has worked in the healthcare industry I understand that. That said, I have been going to Dr Maxwell for the better part of a decade and I look forward to every visit. Dr. Maxwell's adjustments are a GODSEND. She is always careful not to over-do it and educates me every step of the way. The front office staff are always very friendly and accommodating, and even when my insurance company takes FOREVER to pay the bills (we all know how that goes!!!) they are patient and always nice. I had a long-standing bill for a long LONG time because of a car accident that I was involved in that was dragged to court and took a considerable amount of time to get through. In the end I knew that if my settlement didn't cover it it would be my responsibility to pay the whole thing, that's life; but thankfully it was enough. I cannot wait to go see Dr Maxwell for my next adjustment!! PS - the massage therapists are so attentive and good at what they do, too! GO HERE! read more

I am soooo pleased to have been refered to this place. Dr. Maxwell is an amazing Dr and has been so helpful in helping me relieve common discomfort during my last months of pregnancy. I have gone to many chiropractors over 20 years and would highly recommend Dr. Robinson to all. He is experienced, pays attention, is gentle and thorough. The massage therapists at this location are pretty fabulous also! The personnel at the front desk are very patient and helpful and their lobby area is relaxing. The massage therapist here are great. I've seen Chicka and Garcia. The only drawback is their cancellation policy. IT doesn't matter if you get a fever the same day, they still want you to pay the cancellation fee. On the other hand, if you do go in sick with a cold, they will try to send you home, so they don't get sick themselves. I'm a little unsure of how that works out for their business concept. read more
