I live down the street and have had everything on the menu over the years. Staff is cool, all the food is good and there is a great neighborhood bar to catch up with old friends. Travel Note: A couple blocks south, you'll have to parkour the northwest sidewalk curb at South Everett Street & East Bridge Street when departing on foot. Oh my goodness. The chicken tenderloin was incredibly HUGE ‼. I had mine dipped in hot sauce. It was fried perfectly with a side of fries. If I lived here, I'd eat at Chix every week. The food came out fast for lunch. Love it read more

Small town, family restaurant. I've actually never been inside. I'm new here and ordered for delivery. 1st time, it was amazing, but the Texas toast was soggy. I had reviewed them commenting about the toast. That first order had the toast with the main dish. I've ordered a few times since but different stuff, always amazing. Tonight I ordered my chicken parm again. The toast? Separate, foil wrapped!! They listened, they corrected!! We had an Attentive waitress with super prompt service. Clean location. The food was on point.. Friends had horseshoes that were huge and said to be very good. I've been eating at Chix since it was over at it's old location near Family Video, and I've always loved the food. The fries here and wonderfully seasoned, and the burgers are delicious, too. They have a friendly staff and a nice atmosphere in their restaurant! My only complaints are I wish they had a normal BBQ sauce rather than just Honey BBQ, and I preferred their spaghetti sauce they used to use way back in the day. Even with these complaints, the wings and the spaghetti are still delicious. If you're sensitive to loud noises, make sure to check their Facebook page to make sure they don't have a band playing there that night! Streator people. Do NOT order from chix. They are rude. Unprofessional. Change your order. Charge you for things then don't send them and they say they don't offer what is on their menu. Chix Restaurant has rude delivery drivers that apparently don't know how to tell the truth. $50 for three cups of soup and a "special" fish meal. I've never had a problem ordering from anywhere. What an absolute embarrassment for Streator. Per the "manager". "I sent you the soup you paid for because we didn't send it correctly the first time. But you now owe us $4.50 for that soup because you need to pay for it." Your math isn't mathing and you're stealing from customers and lying and being disrespectful while doing so. Been going here off and on since it opened over a decade ago but just realized I've never given them a review, so here goes... Chix has never disappointed me or anyone I have gone here with. Customer Service: Their customer service has always been top notch. Very welcoming and they have always been shown appreciation of my business. Food: A little disclaimer here: Do not come here if you are looking to eat healthy! They may have healthy food, I don't know, but you wont appreciate the place if you're looking to eat healthy. Chix has the best fried mushrooms I've ever had, hands down. Every single person that tries them with me has agreed. You do have to like beer battered food though to appreciate their style. Their cheese sticks are unique and yummy, made from Monterey Jack. They even beer batter their fries! Their ribs are worthy of a competition. The pasta sauce is well known around the area. Their burgers are great. Hell, it even feels as though they do something different to their fountain drinks to make them extra tasty. Final Thoughts: I grew up in Streator so I've known Chix since it opened well over a decade ago. I live in the burbs now and if you look at my other reviews you will see that I have a wide range of tastes. Still, there is something to be said about a place like Chix. They just do it right. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking them out. p.s. If you're reading this Chix, make sure to always bring wipes with ribs. I phoned in an order last Friday at about 7pm for pickup. I was told it would be an hour, wow I said, was told they were busy. I drove over at 8pm, called to let them know I was in the side parking just north of the side entrance. I waited 30 minutes before I went in to see what was taking so long...the gentleman said he would check, and found my order on the table just west of the door.. I said, I hope it is not cold, he relief, no it just came out. When I got home, everything was soggy like it had been sitting while hot, but not brought out..I was very disappointed and would have brought it back, but it was close to 9/pm already, and I was very hungary. Needless to say, not sure I will be ordering take out too soon. I so want to frequent local streator places especially during these trying times for you, but would like hot, not soggy food.
