Before I even walk in, I know the quality of food I'm going to get and I know I'm going to walk out of the restaurant feeling like my arteries need a few business days to recover. As the name suggests, Burgers & Beer offers delicious burgers and an even better time. I've had so many different sandwiches from Burgers and Beer and I've come up with some favorites. The Fowl Player is an extremely decadent burger that is great if you want to take a few years off your life! It comes with bacon and an egg. The flavors are fantastic, but you definitely feel some kind of way when you have grease and egg yolk and butter running down your arm. Consider it a cheat meal. If you're looking for something exotic, the Gladiator takes Mediterranean flavors and adds it to the burger. It has tzatziki sauce and feta cheese on it. The burgers in general are always cooked well and flavorful. Burgers and Beer sells other things too. The Smokin' Q is a decent BBQ chicken sandwich, but nothing too crazy. They have hot dogs and fish sandwiches, BLTs, peanut butter and jelly, you name it! I also get my sandwich was a side of tater tots. Those can be great, but sometimes they're a bit overdone. You also cannot forget dessert, their brownie sundae will be sure to give you a sugar high. Generally speaking, service is friendly, but food can be slow. On multiple occasions I've had to wait close to an hour. This is also one of the few restaurants in Gibson that is accommodating to all types of dietary restrictions. I come here with my colleagues specifically for their gluten free friendly options, as well as meatless items. I certainly consider Burgers and Beer a staple in town, you certainly can't beat a good juicy burger with your buddies!

Owned and Managed by Aaron Thomas with his really great team. This family-friendly alehouse prioritizes local partnerships and menu creativity, earning its place as a surprise standout in central Illinois' dining scene. Culinary Highlights The menu shines with elevated bar classics, including Ropp Jersey Cheese curds sourced from Normal, Illinois. ~a crispy, creamy nod to regional agriculture.  Wings tossed in bourbon-Sriracha glaze and lemon-pepper buffalo rub draw regulars, while the Italian beef sandwich, paired with sweet potato fries and maple mayo, offers a sweet-savory twist. The showstopper is the custom steak-blend burger: certified Angus beef smashed on a brioche bun, smothered in American cheese, and served with loaded fries-a "step above" typical pub fare. Surprise Standout Culinary Chronicles' sleeper hit is the maple mayo dip, a sweet-smoky companion to crispy sweet potato fries. While rumors swirl about its cult following, the dip exemplifies The Local Tap's knack for balancing familiarity with innovation. Today we ordered a maple bacon milkshake, peanut butter milkshake, 1/4 pound grilled cheese burger on toast, 1/2 pound New Orleans burger and a shareable basket of parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the positives, the shakes were well made and not overwhelmingly sweet and we liked that a lot. My husband's 1/2 pound burger seemed a little small and my grilled cheese burger said it would be on Texas toast but it seemed like it was sourdough bread and not really thick cut like Texas toast should be. I was looking forward to eating here because the pictures of the fries online looked long and thick cut, the basket of fries we got didn't look like that at all and lacked Parmesan cheese. The negative experience was the fact the water tasted weird. I took one sip and tasted a weird chemical taste but my husband and I didn't complain, we just paid and left. I don't know if it was the water or the cup but it definitely had a weird taste. Overall, the experience was ok. I think we had higher expectations seeing all the pictures online. The name of the place threw us both off because we thought it was a Latino owned burger joint with a Mexican twist but that wasn't the case at all.
