Great atmosphere, service and food! So glad to have this place open in Streator. Awesome food and they have live music that adds to the ambiance without being intrusive. Great service from Jamal and the food was excellent. Definitely try the pub fries as well as the pasta!

Breakfast review: This review is from last September, the Yelp app wouldn't allow me to post 2 reviews at once even though I had visited Saturday evening and then again Sunday morning. My girlfriend wanted to go for the breakfast/brunch the day after I had just went to dinner here. She was running a few minutes behind so I went in and got us a table. There were maybe about 4-5 tables being served when I got there. We thought maybe there'd be a rush or something after the churches let out but there were never more than 5 tables being used the whole time, maybe this isn't a very good breakfast spot. I waited for 8 minutes before flagging down someone to give us at least some water. Then about 10 minutes after that our server Jamal shows up and says there was some confusion on who our server was supposed to be... not a very good start. I was just going to have water to drink but our server raged on about how awesome their Bloody Mary was and that it was the best he'd ever had that I just had to try it. At 15.00 you'd expect it to be amazing but it wasn't. It really didn't have much of a flavor and was pretty watered down. I didn't even finish the whole thing it was that bad. It did however have a slice of bacon, some olives a celery and carrot stick in it so it looked good but the taste just wasn't there. There were a few breakfast items that sounded pretty tasty . I asked our server about the corned beef and hash breakfast and if it was like the shredded corned beef or if it was more like what you get in the can. He said it was made fresh there and like the shredded corned beef.... Wrong, it was like the canned. Which was ok I would of probably ordered it anyway but when your expecting it to be one way and it comes out the other I was a little disappointed. I also ordered my eggs over easy as I like to dip my toast in the yoke but they came out hard. I would of mentioned it to our server if he hadn't waited about 20 minutes to come check on us. My friend ordered a lunch item The Goodfella as I told her my son had gotten it the night before and really liked it. All in all I'd say skip the breakfast/brunch and just go here for dinner

Our food and drinks were outstanding tonight! Our server Olivia went above and beyond to make sure everything was as it should be. Probably the best we have had so far. My cousin was here from Nashville and he is somewhat of a history buff. He was impressed with the vaults and the fact that it used to be a bank.

My wife and I went to this restaurant and it was delicious. It was a Saturday so of course we had to get the prime rib. Was a great meal, super great service and we even got the special tour from the owner to see what the place is going to become. It's a VERY nice place now, but I'm super excited to see the ending results of what this place becomes! Highly recommend!!

My friend Rose brought me here for a birthday dinner treat. This restaurant is newly opened. This place is still getting on there feet. The place decor and atmosphere is AMAZING. Love it!! The prices are much higher than usual steakhouse. The service was friendly and professional. The drinks were strong and didn't have much flavor, but then again I like them strong. But being that it was a fruity drink it shouldve had some flavor. The appetizers were good. The steaks were just OK. I had to ask for A1 sauce for my Filet. The garlic potatoes were just mashed potatoes. So their cook really needs to step up their game for this kind of an establishment and those prices. I was very disappointed by the prices and food quality. Considering I travel coast to coast each year and eat steak regularly. Then again I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt since they're just newly out there getting their feet wet.

It just so happens that I visited the night of a holiday bar crawl in lockport so the inside wasn't set up how it normally would be. For being packed, we were still able to grab a cocktail table to enjoy our drinks at. The bar was decked out in holiday decor to get everyone in christmas spirits. My group got two rounds of drinks which included the Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned, Figgy Smalls, Christmas in a Cup, Happiness is a Warm Puppy, Milk & Cookies, and Maple Bacon Old Fashioned. My favorites by far were the Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned and Figgy Smalls. My group also loved the Milk & Cookies. The bartenders hustled to get drinks out and still took time to smoke the old fashioneds to perfection. I'd love to come back on a normal night and re-enjoy this lockport hotspot.

We figured it would have been the perfect way to top off our evening. For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. This place does have a lot of great events going on as well with their upcoming Valentine's Day event that looks really interesting. It does get pretty busy as well after 7:00 p.m. from our experience. Overall, I was excited and enjoyed our visit coming to the 933 speakeasy!

Tin Roof is one of those unassuming places that most people just pass up. For sure it's not fancy. You might be able to catch live music. Cheap and rustic is an accurate way to talk about this bar. It's located outside a small town on the way to Starved Rock. The inside is bigger than it looks and apparently is a great place to listen to local bands or whoever. However most come to get boozed up and complain. It's about $5 for a basic mixer. Whiskey and whatever. Food is also pretty basic. Mostly fried things. It's about $5 to get a basket of Pretzel Bites. These are great to munch on between sips. Food menu is pretty uninteresting to be honest. There's also other fried things like jalapeño poppers and mini tacos. Got a few cheap cocktails and okay munchies out of it. It's located on Route 34 a bit west of Somonauk. The food here actually is shitty but whatever.

I think they have seats for only 25 people so prepare to stand when it gets busy. Our bartender was Edward and he was really nice. I ordered a Tiramisu Martini and then a Porn Star Martini. They were both good, but I preferred the Porn Star one. We also ordered a Smash Burger, which was actually from Holt's, connected to this bar. That burger was tasty - brioche bun & onions = yum. I disagree--I am a Chicago boy and it has a big city hidden gem quality about it. In fact, they promote themselves as a speakeasy. Of course you can get any cocktail you want, but my husband and I both opted for a special strawberry cocktail made with Hendrick's gin. It was refreshing, not too sweet, and garnished with a dehydrated lemon slice. Perfect! Our friends both ordered old fashioned cocktails that looked equally as good. It was a Saturday night and this tiny bar was jam-packed. We had to stand, but it was okay because we had only stopped in for one drink before heading to another restaurant for dinner. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. Prices are not inexpensive, but average to what you'd find in a downtown Chicago restaurant. The drinks were excellent--well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with skill. There was also a live musician performing during my visit who was amazing and added a great atmosphere and really elevated the overall vibe. Service, however, was a mixed experience. One of the bartenders (a newer female bartender) was very friendly, attentive, and showed a lot of potential--she made a great impression despite seeming a bit new. Unfortunately, the other bartender completely brought the experience down. He came across as rude, disengaged, and honestly like he didn't want to be there at all. I understand it was a busy night, but there was very little sense of urgency from him, and wait times felt longer than they should have been--even factoring in the crowd. That said, I do understand everyone can have an off night, and given how good the drinks and atmosphere were (plus the positive reviews I've seen elsewhere), I'd likely be willing to give it another shot. Overall, great cocktails and ambiance, but inconsistent service keeps it from being a top-tier experience--for now. I will be happy to update following a repeat visit.
