Sky high prices & I wasn't impressed with the cut or color! I'm not cheap but $245.00 for cut & color????

I have been to this salon a few times over the past few years and was very happy with Michelle who is no longer there and Nate did a great job on the cut I had back in August. Thus I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. But the service I received on 02/05/2024 with Leah Farr was extremely disappointing. Below is what I asked for versus what was received. I asked for an angled cut with the back being a bit shorter than the front. This is not how it was cut. I also asked to just give me a few layers in the crown area so it would not lay flat and she started layering as you would for another type of cut. This is why I now have a very noticeable gap on the left side. I asked to brighten up the red and to give me just a few low lights to break up the color as to add a bit of dimension. I did not ask for a full head of foils and I also did not ask for a root touch up. We even discussed that I had just touched up my roots the previous week. We discussed what I wanted but Leah did what she wanted instead of what was asked. The color on the foils was left on my hair for over an hour if you count the time it took her to put the color on my roots which I thought was going to be the all over brightening up of the red that we had just discussed and looked at on the color chart. I have been having my hair colored for over 30 years and I know how long it should take. The longer that color stays on the darker it goes. Which means my lowlights are darker than intended. Lastly, the price was a lot higher than when I had my hair done there previously. I did not notice it because at check out I did not have my glasses on and noticed this when I was at home reviewing my charges. Leah stated that it was based on the time it took. That is unacceptable given that she started on another client's foils while my hair was being processed and why the color was left on my hair for entirely too long. This sounded to me like that meant I was paying for time that the stylist was doing someone else's hair. I reached out to the stylist to discuss this and she stated prices were due to inflation and that she charged whatever comes up in the system. read more

This salon was a God send! My husband and I traveling in our motorhome, and I needed my root touch up desperately. They were able to schedule me in right away. My stylist was Leah and what a sweetheart she was! She did a great job with my hair. All the stylists there are super friendly and know their stuff! If I lived in this town this would definitely be my choice for a salon! read more

This review ia specifically for Nathanial. So I have been going to my girl Paola in LA (see my reviews, she is good) but obviously with all the COVID stuff, have made no plans to go back. I went to a salon in Flagstaff, and didn't have the best experience. I met Nathanial at work and he told me he is a hairstylist. I went ahead and booked. OMG I HAVE FOUND MY AZ STYLIST. he knew exactly what to do with the color pattern and working with a not so great balyage from the previous job. I love the way he cut my hair too. read more

I called them to make an appointment after reviewing their website they offered pedicures. The woman who I talked to informed me that they no longer offer pedicures. I asked for a suggestion since I am not from Cottonwood. She said slowly; Well there is a nail salon at the Fry's Mall that does nails. If you don't mind if they are "Vietnamese"...? WOW. I was left speechless. Is this 2016? Do we not have a black president? YES! I went to the "Vietnamese" salon where I had a fabulous pedicure and their staff were all fantastic and fun to be around! The whole experience of going to the other salon was so worth it. I am so glad that Chocolate Blonde doesn't offer pedicures any longer so I had the experience of the "Vietnamese" pedicure instead! read more

I would highly recommend Chocolate Blond Salon, Cally, Bethany and the staff at the salon were amazing, we had a party of 6 for a wedding, hair for all, and makeup for the Bride and Maid of Honor, up-dos, braids, extentions, the choices were limitless, and very affordable. This is a very talented staff, thanks for making this a great experience, I love your salon and the warm, friendly atmosphere. Will defiantly visit when we are back in Arizona! read more

Chanel: Best everything. Cut, color, style, treatments. And she's an amazing human being. Chanel is worth the wait. And...the other stylists are wonderful, too, if you can't wait. The salon is Arizona-chic, a little western, very down-home with the friendliest staff ever. Chanel originated my textured beachy rootsy blonde look in the mid-2000s when I lived in the area. Even though I see other stylists since I moved away, I still travel occasionally to have Chanel maintain my signature style. Love this place! read more

This place was the absolute worst. I had a hair trial appointment with Bethany and it was a nightmare. She wasn't personable at all and did a horrible job. I brought hair extensions in that I wanted to wear on my wedding day and she put in three of the seven and just curled them. I asked if she could use more or them and her response was we can just use them all on your wedding day. So what was the point of a trial before the wedding then???? She rushed and just wanted to get on to her next appointment. I would definitely NOT ever recommend this place for anybody getting married. Worst experience ever. read more

I would recommend this salon to anyone, the ladies here are really, really, REALLY good at what they do. I'm not even kidding, I loved every second of my experience here. The ladies who work at this salon are extremely sweet, smart, awesome, funny, down to earth... I could go on! They knew what they were doing, and I could tell they loved doing it! I went to their salon because I was in my friends wedding and we all wanted to get our hair done. They decorated the salon, and had drinks and snacks just for us! Love this place! Before coming here I tried to get highlights at another salon and was left with a dried, brassy mess. Cally is a miracle worker and I love love my hair now! Also Trish really came through for my mom this morning by coming to her hotel room at 8:00 am to do her hair for my uncle's funeral (on less than a day's notice) plus she did an emergency fix on my daughter's bangs a couple months ago after she took a razor to them. read more

I have never been treated so unprofessionally and snobbishly. This is not a first rate salon like the advertising would have one believe. Perhaps they are better with "parties" but one-on-one, I regret having gone there four times. Each time was unpleasant but I kept going back to see if they lived up to their own hype and they do not. read more
