LIFE SAVERS!!! Had my girlfriends prom Friday night and on Thursday the night before at 6:50PM, she needed to see if we could bring her dress in for an alteration. The owner, fully aware that they closed at 7:00PM stayed an extra 30 minutes for us to get there and an additional 40 minutes fixing the problem, so my girlfriend was able to feel like a princess in her dress for prom. The owner rushed the dress to the seamstress, and had it ready in the morning, altered and pressed, for more than a fair price based on the slim time-window they were given. The owner and staff are great, friendly, reliable, prompt, extremely outgoing, and have a sense of humor that will make your sides hurt. I rarely post on yelp, but I wanted to write a comment regarding Choice 1 Cleaners in Wood Ranch. I brought a beautiful dress in to the owner that had impossible stains. The dress was for my daughter's prom. The owner was very transparent and shared that the stains may not all come out and that she wouldn't charge me (despite the amount of work it was going to take to get the stains out) if they didn't. The owner is a woman who takes pride in her work. She goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and top quality work. I was blown away when I came to pick up the dress. Recently I took a dress shirt and suit pants to get altered for my wedding. The customer service was amazing, and the tailoring perfect to fit. Pricing is very reasonable. Now the longer version if you care for it. My fiancée needed a dress dry cleaned months ago, which was the first time we had been to Choice 1 Cleaners (based on Yelp reviews!). We only had a few days before we needed the dress for an event. Like my recent experience, the customer service was amazing, and the dress perfectly cleaned and ready a day before our event. For my recent experience, I had my suit pants hemmed previously (at a different tailor/dry cleaner) and still had too much slack (or a break as I was educated at Choice 1) in the pant legs for my liking. I decided to take the pants to Choice 1 and asked to get the legs shortened a bit more. Their tailor got it perfect where I wanted. Second piece was a Calvin Klein "slim fit" dress shirt, which had way too much material in the sides/back and under the arms. DARTS were recommended right away to pull the material in at the back. Once again, the tailoring was perfect and symmetrical (with respect to the DART placements on the back). The shirt now fits like a slim-fit shirt, without being too tight...it's perfect to go under a suit jacket yet have a thin undershirt. I also got four silk ties pressed for my groomsmen as part of their gifts. Pricing was standard compared to other dry cleaners, and once again done on-time. This will now be my go-to dry cleaner, and I luck out because it's closer to home than my previous one! read more

I had one week prior to a wedding where I was going to be a bridesmaid. I had some fabric to add to the back of my dress to make it more comfortable. It was Vera Wang so I was really nervous about altering it. I came here and the entire staff and tailor were so welcoming and knew exactly how to design the back of my dress. They listened to my concerns and made recommendations, then had me return a few days later to make sure it fit me perfectly, which it did. The day of the wedding I got so many compliments on my alteration and some girls said they wish they did the same! The lace wasn't tight or restricting, I included a picture here showing the difference. You can't see it in the pic but they even brought the lace down to the waistline seemlessly. All I can say is how amazing Choice 1 Cleaners truly is! I arrive on a Saturday about 15 minutes before closing because my daughters pageant dress for the Miss Malibu competition was wrinkled. At first they told me their steam press had already been turned off and it would take approximately 30 minutes to heat and they were closing in about 15 minutes. I just moved to Simi Valley and as a working professional I needed my blazer dry cleaned and stain removed. The employee I first spoke with took my request and stated she would share my request with the spot cleaner and it would be ready for me. They were able to fix the stain so the dress looked brand new and he washed it with ice so that the color would stay in perfect condition. Without a doubt, this is the BEST cleaners in simi valley, possibly the tri-county area. I had a pair of jeans with a broken button, after taking them to another cleaners where they sent me away telling me they couldn't be fixed (um i think that all jeans have the potential to be fixed) right in front of my eyes did the owner (who works 24/7) ask me to wait 5 min and wahla! all fixed, and for free (didn't even charge me the cost of the button)! so you are probably thinking, that is just a coincidence, no way is this man that good-hearted. The second, SECOND time i went in there here is how it went down. my best friend had a interview that day and had no time to get her shirt pressed, after ranting about this place, i told her i would take it to him and see what i could do... i walk in there and tell him my dilemma, how my best friend has the interview at one and if i could come by and see about picking it up later around 12. He asks if i have 5 mins, walks in the back sends it off to his little helper and sure enough 5 min later, I HAVE A PRESSED SHIRT AND for just the right price, FREE OF CHARGE. since then have i taken ALL OF MY FAMILIES DRY CLEANING and sent many that way. I have been really happy with the service and quality of care taken on my clothes. Friendly, courteous and strive to attend to customer needs. In the past I have had challenges finding dry cleaning processes that don't make my clothes smell like chemicals. Choice 1 does a good job with the chemicals and of course the most important thing is I remove the plastic immediately when I get the clothes home. Not only does it refresh the clothes it protects the fabrics. Even when I had to bring a dress back because a spot was missed (I didn't even see it...dress was ivory and only showed up under florescent lighting) they quickly removed the spot. I also like they use heat applied scan tags for piece identification. Other places put tags on all the clothes so you spend time removing tags and plastic which results in trash in addition to the plastic bags. NOW if a cleaner would create a reusable bag to put over my clothes that was not plastic, perhaps a breathable product that would be great...and green! Finally re the review from 6/2/21012 Not sure why someone posted a review calling the owner's wife an inappropriate name...maybe they aren't use to being out in the world where calling names is not how mature people behave.
