Enrique and Andrew came out prompt, professional, and completed the installation within half the time of the allotted window. These have only been installed for a couple of weeks, but so far we are very happy with the investment, service and quality of work. This is the 2nd order I have placed with Creative Mirror & Showe and would definitely recommend them to others and use for future projects.

I love the shelf above the sink; and my husband got the small pantry cabinet he envisioned, which has enabled us to keep the counters free of clutter. As for the actual construction, 4Ever were willing to work around our schedule. We were provided a calendar that included the entire schedule. The process was very smooth, and the disruption was minimal. All the workers were punctual, professional, and respectful. Everyone cleaned up the area before they left for the day. We were also impressed with the fact that some of them were even willing to work on weekends to keep up with the schedule. Moreover, the craftmanship is excellent, and all the workers are seasoned and highly skilled. 4Ever transformed our 2 full bathroom with a tub to a very beautiful walk-in shower. We paid $30k+ for a bathroom remodel and did not receive the design services, project management,…read moreor craftsmanship outlined in our contract. The contract specifies a clear process: design completion, written client approval, project schedule, parts ordering, then demolition. 4Ever did not follow this process at any stage. Our designer scheduled demolition before the design was approved. When she arrived for the contractor walkthrough, she claimed to not have received my voicemail or email requesting a design revision (included in the contract). She walked the contractor through the unapproved design and attempted to schedule work to start that Friday. When I objected, she claimed this was to stay on schedule with my contract. I had to quote the contract back to her via email, where it states "an updated start date and schedule will be provided during the design process." No project schedule was ever provided, despite the contract explicitly stating one would be. The designer then asked me to approve materials in Buildertrend with no final design, and told me NOT to refer to the design in Buildertrend to visualize my final bathroom because that design is "for the contractors" -- and to instead trust the studio samples. So I was supposed to commit $30k based on physical samples and my imagination alone. On May 1st, we reselected the materials (fortunately we opted to purchase hardware direct from Ferguson, after discovering 4Ever's significant markup) and our designer promised an updated design. By May 15th, my bathroom was fully demolished and unusable -- no design received, no design signed off, and no project schedule. I did not receive a final design until the following week, after email reminders, and it did not reflect what had been selected in the studio. I emailed our designer photos of the tile I had taken in the studio v. the tile in her design and asked her to change it. On May 20th, she said she'd look into it. I heard nothing back until I sent her an email reminder on May 27th. 4Ever had ordered a special-order, non-returnable tile without providing a final design and without my design approval -- disclosing this only on May 28th, after the bathroom had already been demolished. I was then told work could not continue until I approved the design. I left a voicemail with the manager, was promised a callback, and never received one. The tile issue was resolved and we signed off on the design, but problems persisted. A project schedule was never provided at any point, despite being promised in the contract's scope of work and requested multiple times. Our sales rep had quoted approximately 3 weeks total. Shower glass was not installed until July 3rd -- almost 2 months after demolition began. Once we were finally able to use the shower, we discovered a grout crack running from the ceiling down 2/3 of the shower wall. Upper management's response was that this was normal. It is not -- grout failure of this extent within days of installation is a workmanship defect. After I submitted 17 photos documenting cracks and bubbles, a contractor came to repair the work on July 21st. That same day, our PM tried to get us to sign the project closeout document, which triggers final payment. We declined to sign until we could verify the repair held. Our PM persisted, saying defects would be covered under warranty. Despite not signing the final document, 4Ever tried to send us an invoice for final payment. We gave it a week and scheduled our PM to collect final payment. On that day, we received a voicemail, email, and multiple app notifications stating we were overdue, would be charged late fees, and that 4Ever had already contacted their attorney and we would be liable for their legal fees. We later learned 4Ever placed a lien on our home over the disputed final payment. Post final payment and grout fix, we're finding more cracks in the grout. We did not receive $30k worth of a remodel. We received failure to follow contract process, defective workmanship, terrible communication, and legal threats. Do not recommend.

I ordered a Samsung microwave from Best Buy online. It came damaged, we assume it was damaged in…read morethe shipping because on my order the microwave was guaranteed to have no damage. I went to the store for an even exchange however they did not have my microwave in stock (although the BB website said they did). I agreed to have the store order the microwave and it would arrive on Tuesday, not ideal but my only option. Just called today (Wednesday) and spoke with Pacific Sales (who apparently this order is going through). My microwave is still not there. The microwave is not available anywhere so I now must wait until Saturday to pick it up. I have my son's birthday party on Saturday and a hole above my stove for all my guests to see because Pacfic Sales/Best Buy/whoever lied about the shipping date. I could have it shipped to me on Friday but most likely it will come damaged like the first one and I will be caught in this loop. No notice of this delay until I called and no apology for the major inconvenience that this is. I am so upset and will rethink where I purchase my appliances from.

We had looked into three or four design firms and went with Design Inside because we got along well with Abigail from the initial consultation. She's friendly and had suggestions from our first meetings. Our remodeling scope was pretty basic (resurface hardwood floors, install new tiling, new lighting, new kitchen countertops/backsplash/hardware, painting, etc.) We weren't planning on taking down any walls or putting up new walls - hence "pretty basic" in our eyes! The initial few weeks involved back and forth with designs and occasional meetings with Abigail so she could get a handle on what we wanted done. Abigail was accommodating with meeting/phone times, and would often meet with us late afternoons or early evening. She created designs we had never thought of doing (enclosing in structural poles, wainscoting, etc). Abigail also was able to easily "read" my husband and I in terms of color schemes and we ended up choosing one of the first few samples of tiling and backsplash that she dropped off with us. Kudos for that! Abigail also provided us bimonthly hours summary / detail so we knew how much we were being charged for her services. She would break down the time she spent working for us by the minute and it was helpful to see where our dollars were being spent. From a "grand overall design", Abigail did a good job, but when we started getting into the details in the later phases, we did run into a few minor issues. I recommend ordering all materials / furniture / art yourself and not going thru Design Inside. With a little work on the intranet, you can find it cheaper, not to mention a lower delivery charge. We had a few material mix-ups with Design Inside - i.e. we received the wrong hardware; not enough tile or grout was ordered. Abigail's measurements for the den were incorrect so she didn't order enough tile / grout - her measurements for the wallpaper were also off, but this time we almost ordered too much. The invoice system used by Design Inside is a little confusing and you should pay very close attention and track your own expenses. It's hard to describe but trying to track all the bills and refunds with the invoices provided was difficult. Overall - I would recommend Design Inside and Abigail for your remodeling needs. I would just offer a bit of advice to double check measurements and order your own materials, but would still recommend the company. Abigail provided different designs and options that demonstrated her design skills as well as her ability to connect with us in terms of what our goal of the remodel was. In our eyes, that was key.

The Kitchen Studio popped up in my google search as being a local dealer of the specific higher end material I wanted. Upon arrival, an employee told me "they don't do just countertops". Okay. That isn't clear on their website. Then she went on to tell me she can't think of anywhere in the area to refer me that "just does counters". First, of all, there are at least 10 countertop fabricators within a 10 mile radius of Glen Ellyn. Someone in the industry should know this. Second, I'm sure the Kitchen Studio has an in house fabricator or they subcontract it out to someone local (most likely) and thus, why on earth would you not give this person my business??? I have a fairly large kitchen and master vanity. My quotes from the other local fabricators, who do, in fact, exist, are coming in at $120/sq foot and up. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because all their kitchens on houzz are truly lovely and I'm sure if you hire them they would design a beautiful kitchen.

However when cost estimates were developed for contract signing for the project implementation phase, her personal fees were 3 times of what they should have been per our retainer agreement. When I pointed out the retainer terms, instead of correcting, they sent me a new retainer document and told me their process has changed. The change is permanent and sometimes there is a little fallout like this. These were Susan's words in her email to me. I took them to court ( case#2019SR000483 in Dupage county) to get my money back which I did. Susan herself is talented and personable but her business partner and company co-owner's dealings are disappointing and ignorant of basic business ethics. Susan kept saying he handles all money and pricing aspects. I had to walk away! Update 1/10/2020: I stand by my comments and the fact that you completely disavowed the terms of retainer and when I pointed out the pricing terms that we agreed to In the retainer, you emailed me a new retainer document with all pricing terms removed from it. I would have never signed anything or paid you $7k based on that new retainer devoid of any specifics. This was an act of complete lack of integrity. If you are serious about building reputation, practicing integrity will help. Good luck
