When notifying the front desk, they took my name and phone number and said they would reach out. No one contacted me. On Monday, 11/24, I found out the front desk staff had misplaced my information over the weekend. They asked for it again and I provided my email, specifying that I'd prefer to be contacted via email instead of phone. I specifically told them that I would be at work all day and would not be able to answer a phone call. I watched the front desk agent circle my email and write "best contact" with my own eyes. Later that Monday, I received a call from another representative, who had to leave a voicemail because I was busy at work. Their voicemail essentially told me to check lost and found. No mention of my jacket being stolen or a crime having been committed. Given the lax response from the gym, I decided to file a police report. I completed the process online and was notified shortly after that the case had been accepted. I was given a case number. On Tuesday, I once again notified the front desk staff that I would prefer to be contacted by email. I specified that someone did call, but that I was unable to answer because I'm working. I also notified them that I filed a police report, and emphasized that any correspondence between us would now need to be written. I also reiterated that I know a crime occurred because it was a small window of time (6am-7am) and that my jacket had a broken zipper on one pocket, meaning whoever took it knows it does not belong to them. I am irked by the way the gym responded to this. I am also disappointed in their poor performance when first reporting this crime. This gym charges $115 monthly with a $175 annual fee. You're better off going elsewhere for far less money. I have been going to much better gyms since I was in high school and I've never had something stolen from me. I added a picture of a row of broken ellipticals. This is typical for this gym despite the amount of money it charges its members. There are also broken pieces of exposed, sharp wood in the men's sauna that ownership refuses to properly repair. Buyer beware.

I was interested in the pool so I asked what the availability was for lap swimming. No available lanes Saturday morning! The entire pool was blocked off for swim team and swim lessons. It was nice and cool on a hot day yesterday when I was on the treadmill and the same this morning when I went to lift. Very clean, new equipment, varied equipment, the weights were all arranged appropriately (VERY important to my brain), friendly and easy check in process, nice spin studio, seemingly a good class offering, and so not crowded at all. Having belonged to or visited gyms all over the country, this is by far one of the best. I sure hope to be back soon while my hotel is still under construction:)

It's unpretentious. As someone who is curvy and wanted to go to the gym to improve my physique, I was initially very nervous about people staring at me or judging me for using the weights. I've gone to other, bigger gyms like PF and I always felt like everyone was looking down on me, and worse, I was fighting for equipment. Not at AFC. Everyone here is going to the gym to work on themselves, whatever that means for them. While of course you have many physically fit people here, there are also people of all ages, sizes, races, men, women, etc, each sharing a common purpose. I've never had a problem snagging equipment I needed or felt like I was in anyone's way. In fact, trainers and members alike have told me they've seen great improvement in me, which makes me feel so great. That's the benefit of a smaller gym - the people there remember you and root for you. I also love the boxing class. It's really popular here! I had never done boxing before and fell in love. It makes me feel powerful. Strong. And, best of all, disguises the workouts a bit! It's so much easier to work out when you're concentrating on pads and bags, and I end up burning 400-500 calories a session. Jason, and all the trainers, pay attention to your moves and help you improve your form. The classes are smaller too, usually around 10 people, so you can ask any questions you want and the trainers can pay attention to your form. If you're a nervous first-time gym goer like I was, or if you just moved here and are looking for a clean, community gym, this is the place.

The owner Jason is a military vet and was super kind. He even gave me a military discount since I'm an Army Vet which was nice. The gym has everything you need from a small boxing area, trx/crossfit area and of course your traditional cardio machines and weight lifting equipment. It's really a great atmosphere to get an amazing working out in. I enjoy coming here because it doesn't get packed in the AM like other gyms and the best part is if you have any questions the staff is alway there to help you and point you in the right direct. If the owner Jason is there he will even come spot you which I've seen him do a numerous of times to different individuals working out. There's also lots of parking, so if your'e around the Hudson area of NH be sure to give AMC a visit if you're looking for a gym.

Checking in is a breeze, the front desk staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and there are plenty of vending machines with healthy (some more than others) and refreshing drinks and snacks. The Merrimack location has an indoor track, racquetball courts, cardio and weight equipment, a swimming pool (for lap swim, classes, swim lessons, team swim, etc), as I mentioned previously, three locations for fitness classes (aerobic and yoga area, spin and dance studio that is used by the barre class). I love Yoga, Zumba (regular and toning), Dance Fit, and kickboxing. The instructors are friendly, welcoming and informative. I always have fun even if I am not the most coordinated individual. It is a great way to cross train for my regular hiking and running routines. The fee price is more than your typical PF type place but offers so much for the cost. They have reduced fees for individuals who may be in need due to low income, disability, etc. I am a fan and look forward to going.

I constantly had to reach out with issues or from frustration with not getting the benefits offered. They do not weigh you each week or weigh/measure you each month unless you arrive early/stay late and request it. It's never even discussed in classes. The nutrition plan was never received after months of requesting (in fact I never received despite paying for it as part of my membership). I received excuse after excuse. If this happened to just me I would consider it a glitch but my friend who also signed up had all of the same issues. The classes itself were fun but having 2 instructors seemed useless. One was always barely helping or the workouts were so quick that there wasn't enough time to correct form/help. For HITT the moves should be simple so form can be clean and prevent injury but some moves were so complicated that even after 3 rounds people weren't getting it right. The "spa" is definitely not as shown online either and are only a benefit for the members paying the highest membership tier which is surprising since the room is run down and outdated and I never saw used. Overall I was so disappointed and would not recommend this gym to anyone.
