While talking to the manager, I mentioned I tried a capacitor that was a different size which didn't work so I figured I needed to buy the right size and asked her if that could have been the problem with the one I had bought. She said the size shouldn't matter and that there was something else wrong with the heat pump, and that she could have a technician come to our house later this morning. The technician arrived, replaced our compactor which took approximately 5 minutes and waited an additional 20 minutes to make sure it continued to work. This $55 capacitor which my husband had intended to purchase ended up costing us over $400 for a 5 minute job. What a rip off!!!!

They conceived a way to run the line sets internally within the existing internal duct work. The install required out of the box thinking and we did have challenges with the condensation lines. The mark of a good team is how well they communicate with one another and how they respond timely when given curve balls. They were professional, able to diagnose the condensation line issue and my system is now running beautifully. The team worked well together and operated with integrity. Jeff and Brad stopped by after putting in a full day to see if our problem had been solved. I told them the story above and they asked if they could take a look. And I am so glad they did! On both occasions, the job "fell through the cracks" and ended up taking over a month to complete an hour's work. 2. Poor communication. They don't adequately set or meet expectations regarding performance and do not respond routinely to emails or voicemails. I had to call them repeatedly to find out why work wasn't getting done. 3. Unfair and unreasonable pricing. Our most recent bill was $275 to reroute a circuit (which was a less than ideal solution, as it required a new breaker, but they didn't have the breaker on hand) and to install 1 GFCI outlet. 2.5 hours' time charged at $85 per hour, plus parts, for work that should have cost half that amount. Kruse apparently thinks they are "the only game in town" so they take advantage. And, they may be right -- which is why they can get away with it. From our experience, most of the contractors out that way are either useless or are crooks, so Kruse may actually be better than most. Which is sad.

Spent much longer than 20 minutes unlike the previous maintenance person from a different HVAC company. The cost was very reasonable even though i didn't use the fall or spring discounts. That's when i should have done it but be that as it may it was well worth the visit. He even checked to make sure the drain line was not clogged, again, something the previous maintenance person failed to do.
