Fantastic. More than just good Korean cuisine. This is just great food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outside is indicative of an older neighborhood, but inside is bright, vibrant and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is amazing. The only question I had was "how can I try it all?" Our server was friendly and expedient while not being too forward. We were seen by three people over the course of the meal who all truly cared about our food and our experience. I cannot wait to return. I want to try everything they offer. The main dishes were scrumptious, but the attention to detail in the side dishes was equally impressive. I have been to Seoul and recall the dining experience to be very much like Choi's in the flavors and how the meal is served. Thank you to this restaurant I look forward to seeing to again!

Went here on a whim and boy did we find a gem. One of the best places to get jiajiamen and kimbap. The banchan as you can see are lacking in portion and variety/taste was not the best. However, everything g else was above expectation that they deserve the 5 star! I'll be coming back to try their cold noodle and their soups next time!

I was in the mood for a hearty meal after driving for eight hours. Luckily Choi's was very close to my hotel. It's small and cozy and the wait staff is very friendly. I enjoyed a meal of pork belly buns as an appetizer and had the spicy pork entrée. Everything was very delicious. The buns were fresh and tender and the pork belly was perfectly seasoned. The spicy pork entrée came out steaming hot on a platter with onions and scallions. Excellent gochujang flavor without being too hot. It came with a side of rice and banchan, including potato salad, pickled cucumber, kimchi, and noodles. Of course I had no room for dessert. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and in the mood for Korean food.

We have been here a bunch of times now and I can say with 100% certainty that you need to come here. I'll start with the service. It is fantastic. Obviously everyone is super nice but they are incredibly accommodating to allergies. My significant other has celiacs and the owner actually came out the first few visits to ensure he had options. ( she is so kind every time we come) She explained everything and recommended meals like the kimchi pancakes which she made GF for us. It was so good by the way. Since our first visit, they even added a GF menu. The staff is pretty knowledgeable but if they don't know they always ask which is amazing. Every single menu item we have had has been exceptional. If you aren't sure what to get, just ask and they can recommend something that you will most definitely enjoy. The restaurant has a chill vibe. The tvs are always on and music is playing. We have always been seated promptly and we will continue to come back!!

I was happy to hear that this place reopened...so we decided to make it a family night here. First of all, I loved the renovations to the place...went up a notch in ambiance for sure! Also, there were multiple TV screens playing different K-Pop performances...and that was very in sync with the many restaurants in Koreatowns (Duluth, LA and NYC). A/C was great...and the general vibe was really comfy and entertaining! Now the food. We ordered several items...from Korean Street Food Sampler, to Seafood Pancake and Tangsuyuk, to Pork Katsu and Wings. First of all, I have to mention that I found it very odd (particular?) that the Tangsuyuk was included in the appetizer portion of the menu (instead of the entree portion)... whereas it was entree priced at $28. Also, rice didn't come with the order...meaning, I had to add it for extra 2 bucks (or was it 5?). This was a first for me (not in a good way!)...in a Korean restaurant. The Tangsuyuk itself tasted good enough, but the texture was way too hard (not only crunchy, but just hard to eat?). From my experience, the best Tangsuyuks were crispy, yet soft at the same time. I know...sounds impossible, but for folks that have had lots of authentic Tangsuyuk, they know what I mean. I just was not a fan of this dish here...especially with its weird listing/pricing format. I was also not impressed with the Street Food Sampler. For some reason, I expected better...in taste and presentation? The same with the Seafood Pancake. I liked the crispiness, but it just wasn't one of the better versions I've had. I don't know...I just got back from Duluth, so maybe I'm being a bit picky?? This place used to be value-priced, but just can't say that anymore. The new price points here are about as high as (or possibly higher??) that of a much more sophisticated MOA in uptown. Also, I feel that the foods used to be more authentic before. If I had to guess, the kitchen staff may not be Korean. My husband and son felt the same...the foods were not bad, but just not great (not authentic), and the pricing just didn't fit. Believe me, as a Korean, I WANT to love this place...but I just can't sugarcoat it. I thought the foods were good, but not quite great. Again, I loved the upgraded ambiance, but I just didn't think the foods matched it. Service was also just OK. The waitress was friendly enough, but seemed too distracted or busy. We didn't get any water refills, for one. Also, our appetizers were VERY delayed. We actually got our appetizers about the same time as our entrees. Sadly, a bit disappointed with the food and service...but am still glad this place reopened. I've had their Jjangmyun several times in the past (under the old management), and I really liked it...so maybe that's what I should have stuck with?? Still, I am definitely open to trying other things on the menu. Maybe I'll like the foods (and the service) more next time, and hopefully I can bump up the ratings?

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Truly a fun hip pojangmacha restaurant with a full menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The naengmyun and galbi are great. Similar to Anju in hidden gem like excellentes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good for dining alone and big groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try the sweet potato soju.

This place is absolutely amazing! I visited yesterday, and both the service and food were exceptional. My husband and I were looking for a spot that truly captured the essence of authentic, homestyle Korean cuisine--and we found it here. We had the Mandu (to start), the Kimchi Fried Rice, and the Soon Du Bu. Highly recommend it; you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely a joy. This small restaurant has been near me for years and I've never gone there - until today! It was amazing and delicious. The bibimbop was delicious and came out crackling and popping and sizzling! Tastful and flavorful. Great service in the restaurant and I loved the kpop playing.

I was really anticipating this would be a great restaurant but it wasn't meant to be today. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The night before, it was very crowded there so a return visit for lunch today was the goal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After being seated quickly, I ordered JaJaing mein noodles with pork and a side order of the potstickers. The noodles looked and tasted great but I found out there was no pork, just bits of seafood consisting of shrimp and octupus. I called the server over and told her she brought the wrong dish. She asked if I wanted her to order another one and I said no. After she apologized for writing down the wrong order, she proceeded to charge me the seafood price after the check arrived. I stopped her and said the check was incorrect and she had a dificult time understanding why I was asking for a correction to the bill? Once she figured out the solution to charge me for the pork and not the seafood version, I told her this remedy was fair, even though a good restaurant would have probably removed the charge for the mistake. Potstickers were average, and overall I was pretty disappointed with the experience. I decided I won't be returning back to this place in the future.

Very good food. Authentic to Korean cuisine I'm used to. The scallion pancake was different but it was close enough to hit home!

Quick lunch pick up from Choi's Korea and Wings was the best decision I made today. I placed an order for 2 Kimbap, the 6 piece Korean Spicy Fried Chicken Wing and the Dolsot Bibimbap. I was told to go to drive thru to pick up my order. From order to pick up it was about 15 minutes. The Spicy wings pack some heat but are not unbearable. The Kimbap was a hit. The dipping sauce is kinda sour but compliments the kimbap. The nibblings love that there was beef and crab inside the kimbap. I think their favorite was the Bibimbap. They only ate the beef from the dish but they gobbled it up. I've never had bibimbap like this before with cabbage in it but I enjoyed it. My mom was a little worried about ordering from Choi's but I'm so glad we did. Choi's definitely is the poster child for don't judge a book by it's cover. Choi's has an extensive menu and I will be back to try more. Choi's Korea and Wings 808 E Arrowood Rd Charlotte, NC 28217 Tuesday May 18, 2021 2:30pm (Review 491 overall, 35 in 2021)
