    Kung pao chicken

Extremely generous portions and low prices. I will definitely be coming back on my drives to Yosemite! The place is clean, the staff is extremely friendly, and service is fast. I can't get over how huge the portions were. That makes Chong's stand out for sure. Also, we asked for "less salt, less sauce" on everything, and it all came out perfectly. Here's what we ordered: * L2 Lunch special: Comes with mongolian beef, chow mein, fried rice, spring roll. I really liked the beef -- a good dish, similar to Panda's. Chow mein was similarly delicious, and the spring roll was fresh, crispy, tasty. The fried rice was the ugly duckling for me. Tasted like rice with soy sauce. That wasn't a big deal though. The rest of the combination was well worth it! * Kung pao chicken: This dish didn't hit the spot for me. The chicken was relatively dry, and I wasn't sure what to make of the taste. It was a bit strange. Not a particular fan, but hey, it was still a large portion! So I'm still a decently happy customer. All in all, there were some misses, but the wins outweigh the losses -- I would more than happily come back to try other dishes! I would highly recommend this place to anyone on a long drive. The massive portions will make you very very happy.

This may be one of my new favorite restaurants for Thai/Chinese food. We will see as time goes and more orders to come for more experiences. Nice and clean small place at the corner of the plaza, seating about 43 occupants, but friendly and prompt customer service. Order to go beef chow fun during busy hours, but regardless they got my order ready within 5-10 minutes. Usually, at other busy places, might have to wait 15-30+ minutes during busy hours. Food was good to my liking being of Thai/Lao ethnic myself. Love that they give large generous portion with a good price.

As you can tell all gone it was delicious

Some of the best if not the BEST WE HAVE TASTED since we moved from San Francisco we totally recommend we will most definitely be returning

    Food

The portions have changed and giving practically nothing for an expensive price... They hardly put meat in the entree plates and used more vegetables it still the entire portion size was still extremely small.... And they left the stickers on the vegetables and cooked it. so gross. It's not the same here anymore. Wont be coming back

    Kung Pao Chicken - delicious

We had a fantastic lunch this week. The people there were very friendly and attentive. The food was great as well. Too often, when I order a "spicy dish" like Kung Pao or Mongolian Beef, there is no heat like there should be. Not only were these dishes delicious, but they brought the heat. My wife were very happy. We also enjoyed the fried vegetables!

Was driving through the area and stopped by Chong's. It is located in a shopping center so there is lots of easy parking and Tesla super chargers are within walking distance. You can't beat the prices here, we ordered three lunch entrees with tons of food leftover and spent under $40. The lunch specials all come with either rice, chow mein or both and most also have a veggie egg roll or other small side included. Substitutions are allowed (sometimes for small charge) We tried the garlic chicken, lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken - all were the same breaded chicken but with different, flavorful sauces. The Thai yellow curry was also quite yummy and probably the group favorite. Also got a Thai iced tea to wash it all down (it was larger in size than most places). The restaurant has tons of options to choose from between the Chinese and Thai food items. True to the reviews, the owner is really kind and friendly. There was no wait for seating when we arrived but the place filled up fast - seems quite popular. Overall, this place satisfied our Chinese and Thai cravings with friendly service and a smile. We will absolutely swing by again the next time we're driving through!

Beef and broccoli dinner. Good amount of beef (more hidden). Needs more salt on everything

Pretty standard generic Chinese food, I just needed a bit more salt on everything. Beef and broccoli with fried rice, chow mein, egg roll. The portion was pretty good, bigger portions than say Panda Express, especially the beef and broccoli. But was a bit bland. Salt definitely helped bring it to my level. Forget the egg roll. Hot and sour soup was mildly sweet which I didn't prefer, and could've been a bit more sour. Overall very average at best. Nice people work here though. If I ever had to come back, I'd guess the Thai food had a better chance.

Food doesn't taste Thai. I've noticed here out in the country it's really hard to find Asian cuisine that tastes good

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE THE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! My experience was rude disrespectful and disgusting!!!…read more I took both of my daughters here after school to get mango sticky rice to go, and they also ordered noodles. Unfortunately, this turned into a terrible experience. As we were driving home, my daughter started eating her mango sticky rice and said, "Mommy, there's a long hair in my rice." I looked and saw a long black hair cooked into the rice. Before touching anything, I took a picture of it. I immediately turned around and went back to the restaurant. I told the woman at the counter that there was a hair in my daughter's rice. She responded, "This has never happened before." I told her, "Well, it happened this time." She then said she couldn't see the hair. The restaurant was so dark that I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone just to show it to her. I eventually pulled the hair out of the rice myself and handed it directly to her. She took the hair from my hand and went toward the back. Another woman came out and said she didn't see any hair. I explained that the first woman had already taken the hair from my hand. When I asked for a refund, I was told that I couldn't get one because my daughter had already eaten some of the rice. I explained that she had to eat some of it in order to discover the hair that was cooked into it. My other daughter kept her food, and I even said I would accept a partial refund. The woman continued arguing with me about the refund. I told her this was bad customer service and that if they are preparing and serving food, they need to make sure hair isn't getting into customers' meals and should be wearing proper hair restraints. I then told her that I had a picture of the hair while it was still cooked into the rice and could show it to her. That is when she finally decided to give me my refund. While giving me the refund, instead of apologizing, she proceeded to tell me to get out of the restaurant, never come back again, and that she was going to call the police on me. I couldn't believe the way this was handled. Finding a hair cooked into my daughter's food was bad enough. But denying what I was showing them, taking the actual hair from my hand and then acting as though there was no hair, refusing the refund until I mentioned that I had photographic proof, and then threatening to call the police while telling me never to return was completely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how a business handles them. A simple apology and refund would have ended the situation immediately. I have the picture of the hair cooked into the rice. We definitely will not be returning.

As you can see from the photo, the stains are quite bad, and we will most likely have to throw the shirt away because they cannot be removed. He apologized when he bumped the sauce, but he didn't realize how much had gotten on my daughter's shirt. When I pointed it out to him and showed him what happened, he apologized again, which I appreciated. Accidents happen, and we understand that. However, since the incident ruined my daughter's top, I would have appreciated the restaurant taking a little more responsibility--perhaps offering some compensation, a discount, or something toward replacing the shirt. Unfortunately, nothing was offered. The food was good, but this experience was upsetting, especially seeing my daughter almost in tears over her shirt. I hope the restaurant can handle situations like this better in the future.
