The staff is so friendly and helpful! 5 for them. The decor and spacing of tables is great! I appreciate that we weren't too crowded. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed with the food. The Tom Kia Ghai was very lime forward with very little coconut milk creaminess that I enjoy. The chicken was a bit tough too. I've always liked this Thai restaurant until one of their employees was complaining that their calls were too much which was why they stopped answering their calls. Are you kidding me? Most restaurant would LOVE to have their phones non-stop with calls. The arrogance was astounding which is why I can never give this place a 5 star rating. Came from Modesto to try this place looked nice and thought it might be good. Ordered Pad Thai and my fiance ordered pad kee mao. Food was eh. But honestly the texture was way off and super grainy. My fiance let the server know. The server told us its supposed to be like that. (Umm no We eat ALOT of Thai food from much more reputable places so we know what certain dishes are supposed to taste like and texture) my Fiance asked the waitress if there is some extra sauce she could have the cook put in it becuase it was crazy grainy. The waitress said thats how we ordered it. NO. Extra spicy does not mean extra grainy or extra texture. My fiance asked more than 3 times for her to take the dish and add more sauce. The waitress said "DID YOU HEAR ME? DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYIN?" And the waitress told my fiance she has still has to pay for it. my fiance is also a waitress so we know that is no way to address your customers. Ya my fiance and waitress went back and forth. We asked to speak to the manager right away. Manager offered to cover our meal but we just didnt want the Pad Kee mao, when we paid the managet barely tried to take like half of the price of the pad kee mao off! Average Thai food with excellent service. We stopped by for some filling food on our way back from Yosemite. Blu Lotus did the job, but I've definitely had better Thai food before. From our order, we enjoyed the tom yum soup and Thai milk tea. The pad kee mao naturally comes very spicy, as warned by the server. It was okay but traditional Thai wide noodles were replaced by some pasta like noodles so it lost some points for me. Red curry and chicken satay were decent. My partner and i came in on tuesday around 240pm... we werent really sure they closed between 3-5pm (which i did mention to my bf because i saw it on apple maps and yelp) BUT he didnt listen to me (google users) so here we are coming in at 245pm when theyre about to close. 1st time here. My wife and I came to Modesto to visit family. I found this restaurant on Yelp. So thank you Yelp fam. This restaurant is good. I'd definitely recommend it and come back again. This is my boyfriend's go to spot for fried chicken and papaya salad! Those are the only two things he gets here. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy and the papaya salad (Laos style) reminds me of my childhood. However, I'm not entirely sure if the fermented style is for everyone since I just grew up eating it, but it's very authentic in my opinion and the best spot for it in a restaurant! We go here by default for Thai only because it's close during our lunch time crunch even though it's pretty mid and overpriced. After our last visit we won't be back. Servers rude on various visits for both phone in and done in even when there has not been a single other patron there. We pretty much had to beg to spend our money there. I won't be back and will spend $30 per person for lunch elsewhere. The owner really needs to realize how his hostesses are treating the customers, if they care. With that being said Blu Lotus has been on my radar for a while so I admit it i was a lil hangry and had built up expectations for the restaurant. With in the first 15mins i was aleady convinced to give the Blu lotus a 3 star review due to the awkward and subpar service. Its hard to describe the service in words, it was more of body language, lack of menu knowledge, as well unreadiness in my opinion. But im happy to say that they moved up to a 4 star because there food is really good, and after the food was ordered everything else was spot on. So the cook saved the day lol. Reduced my recommendation from 4 stars to 1 because the service this last time was absolutely horrible. Our entire family loved this place but we won't be back. Placed a takeout order through GrubHub. Order confirmed by restaurant. Got there at the time indicated and we were told they forgot to put in the order. No problem. It happens. What happens next is the issue. We can't wait the 20+ minutes it takes to get the order. The guy offers refund. Great! But the boss who gives the refund is too busy. I don't want to leave without refund. So he goes to the back, talks to the boss, comes back and says sorry GrubHub has to give you the refund. GrubHub didn't make the mistake. You did. They have fresh food. The only thing is... it's a bit pricey I order the orange chicken. The general Pso is really good! Veggie chow neons are delicious because they are more of the thicker noodles. My mom is a huge fan of the veggie spicy fried rice Fried egg rolls and the chicken dumplings are delicious!! Be careful when saying veggie rolls because you will get a lettuce wrap.
