My husband and I went on a Friday night around 7:30 PM. The restaurant was busy, but there was still plenty of seating and we were seated right away. There was live music from a two-man band singing soul and Motown standards. Both had great voices, and the music added a lot to the evening without taking over the room. Our server, Ty, was so friendly and knowledgable. She was warm, helpful, and made good recommendations. We started with the Brussels sprouts, and they were delicious. Sweet, flavorful, and cooked well, they still taste it like Brussels sprouts. You might even be able to convince a toddler to eat these. Definitely a recommend for me. The menu now includes small plates, which are priced a bit lower than the regular prices . It had been years since I visited this location, so the menu felt new to me even though a few familiar dishes were still there. My husband ordered the roasted chicken small plate with onion rings. He thought it was delicious. Between the chicken, Brussels sprouts, and fresh yeast rolls, it was plenty of food, and he still had some to take home for the next day. The chicken looked like at least half of a small bird, so the portion was generous for a small plate. I ordered the pasta Alfredo. Ty recommended adding both chicken and shrimp, so I did. The chicken was mixed into the pasta, and the shrimp were arranged on top with a small edible flower. It looked good and tasted good, although the Alfredo was a little bland for me. It needed a bit more seasoning, but the chicken and shrimp helped. This was a very enjoyable dinner. For $103, this was a letdown. We ordered a pomegranate martini, a whiskey and Coke, and two "small plates" -- beef medallions with l'orange sauce and the beef short rib. For that price point, I expected quality and execution. It just wasn't there. The short rib was very tender, I'll give it that. But it was swimming in a heavy gravy with potatoes piled on top and steamed spinach hidden underneath, which made the whole dish soggy and overly heavy. Then there was a random orchid blossom and a branch of whole parsley on top (mine had a flower, too), which felt completely out of place. The beef medallions were the bigger issue -- no sear at all and they had a slightly gamey flavor (which I'm hoping doesn't come back to bite me later). Honestly, the l'orange sauce was the best part of the dish and the only thing saving it -- without it, the plate would have been close to inedible. The "crispy potato medley" was neither crispy nor seasoned -- and I mean not even salt. It was mostly zucchini, squash, and red bell pepper with zero flavor. All 6 of the tiny potato cubes themselves tasted like they came straight out of a freezer bag. Nothing was inedible, but nothing justified the price. My son, wife, and I had dinner at The Chop House in High Point on a Friday evening February 2, 2026. Great choice. We had made a reservation, which turned out to be smart because the place was busy, with a packed bar and full tables. We were greeted promptly by the maître d and seated right away. The cocktail, beer, and wine list is expansive. I started with a Manhattan, properly made. We kept it simple and ordered entrees only. This was a good call because the portions were just right with sides. All three of us had filets, and I added the surf-and-turf option with a lobster tail, Cabernet mushrooms, and asparagus with béarnaise. The flavors worked well together. We paired dinner with a bottle of Caymus and were impressed by the depth of the wine list -- some serious bottles on there, including Opus One. Service was smooth and perfectly paced. We were seated in the back of the restaurant, which has a cozy, library-like feel with a gas fireplace. We didn't have room for dessert, but the menu featured plenty of classic steakhouse options. This was my first time getting sea bass and I loved it. I also had a Caesar salad. I wish the dressing had anchovies in it too give it a better flavor. So first off the staff, our server lakeisha was phenomenal. She was the sweetest and made the birthday celebration super special. The kitchen staff was awesome as well and came out to say hi to us. Didn't know how to prepare steak Pittsburgh style even after assured me they could. 1.5 hrs later they came out and said they forgot to prepare 1 of the steaks Pittsburgh style. 30 minutes later they came out with a piece of meat not worthy for my dog. Waited 30 minutes initially for a a bottle of wine. Came back and didn't have the wine we requested. 20 minutes later they served the wine. They weren't busy and the tables around us came and went. Went to Chophouse for an office lunch and had a really good experience overall. The service was a bit on the slower side, which was noticeable given that we were on a lunch break, but the staff was polite and attentive once they got to us. I ordered the fish with the house salad, and it was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly filling. Several of my colleagues tried different items on the menu and everyone seemed pretty happy with their meals. The restaurant itself is very clean, spacious, and has a professional, upscale vibe that makes it perfect for business lunches or more formal gatherings. There's also plenty of seating, so we didn't feel cramped or rushed. One of the highlights was definitely the parking situation--a massive lot with tons of space, which is always a plus when you're coming with a group. I didn't get a drink, but my colleagues tried the tea and said it was really good. I'll probably go for it next time. Overall, while the pace could have been a bit quicker, the food and environment made up for it. I'd definitely come back--maybe for dinner next time when there's less of a time crunch. read more

I was there for a private dining event. Staff was unobtrusive through the presentation, and did their best to quietly serve, enter and exit. One of my pet peeves is when a restaurant menu or in this case, the printed dining menu for the event, lists what accompanies a salad or entree, but main components are not included. For instance, the house salad did not list raw onions, and you guessed it, raw onions were atop the salad. Why bother listing cucumbers, carrots, slivered almonds, and shredded cheese, but not include raw onions? Ordered my filet, which had to be at least 10 oz., medium, but unfortunately, it was prepared medium rare. With so many diners to serve at the event, there wasn't an opportunity to send it back and still end on time. So I ate around the outside of the steak. Disappointing effort when a steakhouse misses on the steak preparation. I've been to chop house so many times but I've felt like each time I've gone they've made some changes that constantly hurt them. I started with the calamari and the Brie bread. The calamari is one of the items I think they've changed to the point it is unbearable. Bland and tastes as if it was fresh out the freezer, sadly the sweet Thai chili dressing doesn't save it either. The Brie bread however is delectable. The toasted sweetness of the bread mixed with the savory dip provide such a great mix of flavors. For entrees I ordered the aged ribeye. While it was cooked to my liking but the steak fell short lacking in any real taste to leave an impact compared to other steakhouses. I paired it with the mushrooms and once again another unlikely hero as they were also the star of the show. Tasty and crisp such a great dish to have on the side pair that with the Brussel sprouts and they were amazing. My waitress was great but the service felt slow in moments, and my waitress did apologize due to the fact she hadn't had a break. Which was understanding but she was great nonetheless. There were to many inconsistencies and for a place that is elegantly designed felt very short coming. With its price range it sad that it isn't comparable to similar restaurants. I've had pleasant experiences at chop house in the past but it may be a while before my next visit. Chop House takes care in their presentation. The tables are formally decorated and the choices for dishes, silverware and napkins were very exquisite. The menu choices were hard to choose from, because everything looked appetizing. The highlight of the evening besides the conversation with my party was the waiter. Every time I almost give up on customer service, I run into a Brian who sets the bar very high. He was a top notch waiter with amazing energy. Yes the meal was delicious, but I would come back in hopes that Brian serves me again. He did a phenomenal job serving our table. My dish had an amazing presentation and it tasted amazing. Something has changed recently here. This used to be very good. The water quality was absolutely atrocious this visit and tasted like metal. We asked for water bottles and/or new water. The new water was still bad so we chose the bottles. It was $5.25 per bottle and I asked for a comp bc something changed on their quality at lunch. There was no comp (except two bucks lol) and they stated that is not on them. The food was good as usual - but not above par like it used to be. I will not frequent this place anytime soon bc I can get about the same quality for a good price elsewhere. I used to be so impressed with the service and quality of their food. I just feel it has gone downhill in the last months. Pretty sure they've compromised on basic qualities like calamari and some of their steaks. My service, the previous time I was there, took almost two hours to even be completed because of staffing I guess. I don't know for certain what has happened recently, but the last two times have not been terribly pleasant so I'll have to search for a new place now. I also got the rich lobster Mac and it was really good, I do wish that the price was lower for the portion you're getting but a pretty solid meal. We had 6:30pm reservations on a Friday and were seated immediately. Not sure if weather came into play (Hurricane Helene just came through), but I was surprised the dining room wasn't busier. Our server was polite, attentive, and professional. The food was amazing! The baked brie came out piping hot. It was topped with brown sugar pecans and accompanied honey drizzled and cranberry topped apple slices and toast points. It was a bit messy (maybe should've let melted brie cool a bit), but a delicious started/appetizer. For dinner, I ordered Carolina crab cakes. The cakes were all crab on inside with light breading on outside. The pecan remoulade was okay (seemed like an odd paring--it was tasty, but I would probably skip next time). My visit to chophouse was terrible. What was once an amazing restaurant with an amazing Wedge salad has become an absolutely terrible experience. We waited over an hour and a half for our food and when it finally came in one of the four entrées for our table was missing. Management offered no apology whatsoever. Our important business dinner with our customers was ruined. We will never go back to chophouse again and I suggest that you do the same. When I told the manager, I had lost my appetite after my friend had missed his meal, I was not offered to take the meal home to eat later. In fact, I was offered no apology at all, and the manager simply took my plate of food and walked away without saying a word. How rude! I was disrespected in front of my customers and friends. The only bright spot was that the salad came quickly. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, except for when I've gotten food poisoning. As a longtime fan of the chophouse, I can confidently say that the restaurant is no longer what it once was. Each year it's gotten worse with longer weights and a worse menu. Do not go back to this restaurant if you've been here before and had a good experience years ago. It is very bad now. I've honestly NEVER had such a bad experience at a restaurant. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were not seated for 15 minutes. We were given a small table in front of the bar with a group of people staring at us. I started eating it as soon as the waitress brought it and forgot to take a picture! The hot bacon dressing is a must and the Filet was seasoned perfectly. The pork chop chutney was not sweet like you would think, it was more on the sour side. Next time we'll probably leave that off. The pork chop itself was cooked perfectly and had a fantastic seer. The dessert was the best chocolate cake with a hint of cherry. It reminded of a chocolate Cherry cordial that my grandmother used to love. It was presented beautifully, wouldn't change a thing. It was not served as described on the menu. The sauce it was supposed to be tossed in was served on the side. The calamari was also cold. Lucky the entrees and drinks were better. Photos show what we ordered and we each liked our orders. Sides were a la cart and were piping hot. I definitely recommend the brussel sprouts. This is the second time I have been here. It's not a place I can afford to go to often. I went with a group of coworkers and our boss who is in town this week. First of all this is a clean well kept place with very friendly staff. Our waitress was great and handled our group with ease. I ordered the ribeye and loaded baked potato.
