The legendary Mark Kramer, with Pan American!
    Jickles H.

We came here to see the legendary Mark Kramer and Pan American for an evening of ambient guitar-centric music with films playing as a backdrop. We had dinner first and had the Smashed in Paradise burger and some steaks. The food and service were very good and the price was reasonable for what you got. The beer list was good but not huge; no problem - they had what we wanted! The music venue was very large and had great sound. Folding chairs were set up as the music was meant to be experienced with the projected films. I appreciated the open space at the restaurant and venue. Easy to move around and no claustrophobia!! We will happily come back for dinner or a concert or both!

Came here with my fiancee to see her friend's son play in the Led Zeppelin cover band. On an afternoon where all the kids are playing, this is a busy place. There's a long bar area in the front, and the stage is through the doors in the back. I had a rum and coke, people watched, and enjoyed the music. It's a clean place but gets crowded quickly. The bar staff seemed overwhelmed. It was crowded in the back, and people kept walking by trying to steal our table or leaving their trash on our table. The staff used sandbags to prop the doors open so people kept tripping as they came in and out. It was an alright place and experience. It was interesting to see the School of Rock performances.

This is one dope concert venue. Me & my girlfriend got to see Tommy Richman's sold out show and it was everything we expected and then some lol. The crowd was so diverse from age & ethnicity which showed this a venue that excepts everyone. I do want to come back eventually to try their food when the restaurant is open.

We just tried this place for dine in but my husband ordered takeout before and enjoyed the burger and fries. We also got a few things from the butcher and everything has bren good. Especially the dry aged steak... one of the best steaks I've ever had. When we went this week, I got the the filet mignon. Beware the menus aren't consistent. What was online was different than the QR code but we asked and could still have the filet. It was on the rare side for medium rare but very tender cut. The broccoli was good but a little sparse. My husband tried the special burger and enjoyed it. He liked their fries a lot. For starters we had the oysters and wings. The oysters were good. My husband but into what appeAred to be a raw drumstick and we told the waiter. He took them back to the kitchen, comped the app, and brought new crisper ones. They ensured us they had been smoked for 6 hours and were cooked through but def looked suspect. Either way, the waiter was great and they handled it well. Overall, good service. Pretty good food and great butcher.

I didn't eat anything here, but I wanted to comment this is a FABULOUS place to catch a live show! Spent just $35 to watch Mucca Pazza on NYE and it was one of the best concert going experiences in years. The space is clean, open, well-ventilated, with high ceilings and great acoustics. Space for a merch table. Could pop in and out to the bar if needed. I was just there to see the show so I didn't eat or drink anything, but they did offer food before the show and the menu looked great. Staff: SUPER NICE! This was NYE and they were dealing with a lot of sauced up customers by 1 AM when I left, and were very kind and patient with everyone and especially nice and welcoming to me as I arrived and left. Coat check, too. I can't wait to see another show here.

Came for brunch a long while back and it was a solid brunch spot! Recently came for the Tommy Richmond show and it was so fun! Super easy to get in, no line. Smaller venue with an upstairs which was nice. Our beers were somewhat cheap but I did see the cocktails were a little expensive. I'll come back for another show for sure!

Food came out very quickly and staff were nice :) So tasty without bones and cauliflower was perfect! Not to soft and not uncooked.

Screw this venue. Woefully understaffed bar meant waiting about ten minutes for a round of drinks. $9.00 for a shot of well bourbon and then these people have the nerve to tack on a 20% tip without telling you. When they hand the credit card machine over, it has some suggested tips--those are above and beyond the 20%. This place left a bad taste in my mouth

We came here Wednesday evening for happy hour - which means Oysters! For February, they had a special deal - a bottle of Michael Lavelle rosé with a dozen oysters for $35. Given that a dozen oysters was $27, this special was definitely worth it. The oysters were nice - not the best I've tasted but they had a delicate and light flavor and were served with horseradish with cocktail sauce, or vinaigrette with shallots. Nothing tasted spoiled. For happy hour, we also ordered a few of the appetizers - cauliflower bites and also wings. These were marinated in Siracha chili, and honey sesame. Both sauces had a good taste and provided a good amount of moisture to the fried plates. We also ordered a cheese plate, which was nothing to brag about - it had Swiss, cheddar, and bleu cheese, along with some chicken liver pate and a few cold cuts of meats. In contrast to a lot of the other reviews I've seen, service was quick and they were extremely polite and accommodating. That being said, there were about 4 tables seated and the rest of the place was empty - perks of coming on a weekday night I guess. Overall price was very acceptable, since we ordered off happy hour menu. If I'm looking for a cheap oyster experience on Wednesdays, I'll be for sure coming here.

    Prosciutto Wrapped Burrata

Had tickets to a show and came here for dinner before. It was perfect logistics. Really convenient. Had the choice of sitting inside or outside and chose to dine on the patio. Interesting murals and comfortable, casual tables. We waited a really long time for service, but as I implore others to do, understand there is a serious staff shortage everywhere, remain patient and understanding. Once our server came by, she was very sweet and apologetic. They didn't have a cider on tap, my personal favorite, so I started with a very spicy, but very yummy spicy Margarita. After that, I switched to a canned cider option. It was okay. We had the burrata wrapped in prosciutto. Hated this dish! I would almost suggest that they remove it from the menu. I don't want to make a flippant comment without constructive feedback, so allow me to explain and also preface this by saying that this is clearly based on my personal experience and expectations. I eat burrata very often and have always seen it presented as a pillowy ball or small pulls of it on a pizza so I envisioned that but just with a blanket of prosciutto. Instead, it was 4 rolls of prosciutto with burrata spread in the middle. Without a photo as a visual aid, I'd say it was comparable to a salami/cream cheese roll up made famous in the 1980s potluck party scene, if you were lucky, there was a pickle in the middle...okay, sorry getting back on track. I'm in no way complaining that it was too much prosciutto, but the overall dish just made no sense. It was like eating a huge piece of lunch meat with a fork and knife. There could have been bread or more burrata. The cheese to meat ratio was very off. I cut away the prosciutto entirely to be able to taste the burrata, it was incredibly overpowering and I do love me some prosciutto, but this was an incredibly disappointing $16 appetizer. It's almost a bad look. I wish it didn't taint the rest of my experience because we both enjoyed our burgers, albeit smaller in size than what I'm used to, but quality ingredients and well cooked. I had the smash burger. Thumbs up for sure. My husband had the Royal burger and it was also pretty stellar. I upgraded from fries to elotes and glad I did. The elotes were fire. We both declared it our favorite dish of the evening. Overall, we had a solid experience, but my takeaways are to avoid the prosciutto wrapped burrata, get the elotes and plan accordingly because we both felt like either portions were a little small or we need to evaluate our appetites, but we both felt like we were still a little hungry.

You need reservations, paid a flat rate per person, only include a drink, absolutely worth it. The menu is set by the chef. The waiter is super knowledgeable and friendly. A disclosure is that the chef doesn't make your food in front of you, the show is to see all the kitchen staff in action, you have front row seats to where the magic happens. A unique experience, the food was super delicious with a mix of flavors from around the world. I left with an amazing experience in terms of food and flavors, but my greatest lesson was how hard the kitchen staff works and the passion: the orchestrated action to keep with the orders, the constant heat from the kitchen, the attention to details, and the love for flavor perfection. Plus, one of the best old fashioned I have ever had!

Service was a bit slow. It took 45 mins to get our first dish, which was the halibut. First, just want to comment that the portion size is quite small relative to the price of the dishes. The halibut. This was very delicious. Somehow the blueberry nuoc cham works? The fish was tender and flaky. The sauce was salty and full of umami with a hint of blueberry sweetness. This fish dish made me crave for a bowl of steaming hot bfluffy white rice. The string beans. Unless you are allergic to nuts, this is a must get dish. Perfectly cooked string beans (still crispy but not raw) sautéed with fish sauce vinaigrette was an absolute delight. It's also on the salty side which made me crave rice but it's such a flavor bomb. The cashews provided a contrast in texture but yet complemented the seemingly simple dish. I wish the portions were bigger. The galbi. It's was good but compared to the first 2 dishes, didn't really wow me. The meat was one rib strip (4 rib bones) cut into 4 pieces so it's a rather small portion for the price. The stone fruit slices was a nice pairing in that it provided a sweet and tart contrast to the heavier meat flavor. After trying this dish, I felt I personally prefer the LA galbi marinade flavor and preparation for short ribs. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this place. Would come back for the string beans on a splurge day .

Hands down, and I don't say this lightly - Boka is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. I don't think it's too wild to say it may certainly be my FAVORITE restaurant in the US of A. This past week was my second pilgrimage to Boka, and I was stoked as ever. We ordered some non-alcoholic drinks, a few appetizers, and our entrees (duck and black truffle chicken). We had a nice discussion with the waiter and shared our enthusiasm and excitement with him. We shared that this was our return to my safe culinary haven, and I was prepared to be dazzled again. And dazzled I was. The chicken was phenomenal. The flavors were amazing and so poignant, and the tenderness of chicken made you really question if you were eating chicken at all. Everything was so moist and tender, and each bite was a ballet of flavor in your mouth. The duck, although not the star of the show, was hearty and delicious as well. The parsnip puree added an earthiness complexion to each slice of duck. The kicker of the night was when our server brought us our bill at the end. He gifted us complimentary menus of what we ordered that night, paired with a generous "Welcome Back" and the date of our wonderful evening. That small, but mighty, gesture encapsulates Boka in a nutshell. Fine dining, excellent quality of food, topped with service that was personally catered to make our meal enjoyable. For our entrees, we ordered the black truffle chicken and the glazed beef short rib. I'm not sure how they prepared the chicken, but it was incredibly tender with some of the most flavorful skin I've had. Every bite was juicy and almost melted in your mouth. The short rib was just as impressive, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I've also done the tasting menu here before, and it was just as memorable. You definitely won't leave hungry. My friend told me the way to "fully experience" Au Cheval is to get the cheeseburger plus both the egg and bacon add-ons, which our server also recommended. I did try a piece of my friend's bacon with my burger and it does add a depth of smoky sweetness. However, that becomes a 17.99 + 3.49 + 6.99 = 28.47 for a burger. That's insane. The add-ons themselves cost more than half of the burger. I'm not doing that to my wallet. Sorry, but this was a disappointing experience for me. I'd rather just go to Shake Shack, which at least comes with tasty and juicy burgers for 1/3 of the price.
