Best pet food and accessories spot around! They are very knowledgeable and will gladly order something you might be looking for! I always feel like my pups and cat have been priority number 1. Been coming here for 11 years and always happy! i highly recommend a stop by to see it

Sequoia comes to shop at Choppers with me.

We LOVE Choppers! They sell high quality dog and cat products that are not found in chain pet store and do not have fillers. This is a great resource for hard to find products such as Ziwi Peak and Zignature food! I'm a raw feeder and they have also special ordered products for me and my dog Sequoia. The staff are patient, personable and helpful. We highly recommend!

I've walked by Chopper's several times while wandering around Fircrest - "Another boutique pet store?" I'd yawn as I walked past. Today, after a sad lunch nearby (another story), I wandered into this shop to pick up some Merrick dog food. What a lovely store! The customer service was really on point, the prices are competitive, and I saw some products I've never seen before. Case in point, a "Thundercoat" for my dog, who is a rescue. It's a dog jacket designed to swaddle her and promote a sense of calm. The women working here were very knowledgeable, friendly and honest when I asked them questions about products. Score! Totally makes up for the lame lunch today...

This is my favorite pet store by far. They're the only store in my area that sells Acana, which is what brought me in the first time. I've now visited three times and have been helped by three different clerks. All of them have been equally knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and showed a genuine interest in my two chi's. Like one of the other reviewers said, when my hands were full with my purchase and my dog, they actually helped me carry my large bag of Acana to my car! I bought a bag of raw frozen food the other day and my chi's didn't care for it. I called them today about returning it and they very cheerfully told me to bring it back and that they'll send me home with samples of other raw frozen food. I love a store with a great return policy. I felt bad for buying a whole bag of the food instead of just asking for samples. I am now a very loyal customer! I love this store. I love their store cat too. One of my chi's almost got nose to nose with it (sniffing, since he's never seen a cat close up) and it didn't even flinch.

    Buck digs Chopper's!

Today I made a little bit of an error by grabbing two sizes of pottypads thinking that they were the same. I asked a gentleman named Xander, who was busy doing something else if he could assist me compared to me interrupting the standard checkout line. He did not hesitate at all! He was cheerful. He was smiling. And was absolutely a joy to interact with!

In the past grooming staff has injured my dog by giving him a bath, putting him in a drying kennel without first doing his nails. This resulted in him, standing up in the kennel and ripping off one of his declaws by having it get caught in the drying kennel. This was my first negative experience with this store, the only redeeming factor was Tee who had bathed my dog and provided excellent customer service and care to my senior Great Pyrenees. Tee is the only reason I remained loyal to this location as I've never encountered any issues with them. This last 3 days I've been trying to get my dog into the groomers with an appointment that was already scheduled. Due to the last injury that was mentioned above, PetSmart does not allow my dog to be put in a kennel so when I take my dog to the groomers, they force me to pay an extra fee so my dog isn't kenneled during the service, even though this is a problem caused by their negligence. Apparently I also can't schedule this kind of "express service" online so I unknowingly scheduled the wrong type of bath/brush/haircut. We brought him in and not only did. The staff belittled me and made me feel like it was my fault that this oversight wasn't caught and they rescheduled me for a few days out which was inconvenient but it's whatever they could've been kind about it. Today, i dropped off my dog and explained his grooming needs as he had just been seen by my vet and treated for a hotspot that's fully healed. 15 minutes after dropping off my dog I got a call that they were unable to provide my pet a grooming service as "his feet were wet". Then two groomers tried to explain to me that because he had wet feet, He had an open wound that was caused by yeast and bacteria then advised me to take my dog to the vet for antibiotic treatment. They explained to me that it is PetSmart policy that the animal will be sent home if they're showing signs of an open wound. I asked their manager to show me this policy and they explained they were not allowed to do so. -I'd also like to mention that we live in Washington and this last weekend we have had half an inch of rain...- I'm incredibly dissatisfied with my experience, I will no longer be bringing my dog to this grooming salon, I simply wish the staff was willing to aid me in coming to a solution rather than telling me, I'm a neglectful pet parent through a policy, they couldn't even show me. My dog is a senior and has had redness on his feet his entire adult life, his feet smelled completely normal and we're not showing any signs of yeast overgrowth. It was unfortunate that I was being gaslit by staff into thinking that my dog is in distress and in dire need of going to the vet when in reality he stepped on wet soil before going into the groomer when he was going to the bathroom and he is completely fine. That was also confirmed after sending photos of the alleged incident to my LICENSED veterinarian who agreed, my dog isn't having a serious infection or yeast overgrowth. Aside from that it would be nice to have all that wasted time back. 0/5 stars :/

Due to scheduling we could not get in with our regular store as soon as we needed so we booked at this location. This was the second time at this location as they had more bookings. We received a call mid-groom stating that our dog had "attempted to bite" the groomer while on the table. When I arrived, I asked the manager for a detailed explanation and a written incident report, but neither was provided. The manager simply stated that our dog attempted to bite the groomer and that she was now permanently banned from all Petco locations and refused to offer any information. I asked if she could return to her regular groomer at our usual Petco store, where she has been groomed successfully for years, and was told no. Our dog is energetic, but she has never shown aggression in eight years of regular grooming appointments. Additionally, when we brought her home, she was acting different than usual and repeatedly licking herself as if she was hurt, which was concerning. We have three dogs that require regular grooming and haircuts every 6 weeks or so. Due to how this situation was handled, the lack of transparency, and the extreme decision to ban her without proper documentation, we will be taking all of our grooming business elsewhere. So happy that a week later we took her to another groomer where they cared for her and there were no behavioral issues. When I picked her up they said how much they loved her. Beware of an inexperienced groomers and managers at this location.

We took our 7-month-old Dachshund puppy, Chewy, to Soggy Doggy yesterday evening for a nail trim shortly before closing time, and unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting for both our puppy and us. During the nail trim, Chewy yelped multiple times in discomfort, which immediately concerned us. What stood out most to me was that the same nail appeared to be trimmed repeatedly several times, and each time Chewy reacted more anxiously and vocally. As a pet owner, I found it difficult to watch, and it left me feeling uncomfortable about the handling process. I understand that puppies can sometimes be nervous during grooming, and nail trims are not always easy. However, we have previously taken Chewy to other grooming establishments, including Petco and PetSmart, for nail trims and have never experienced this level of distress from him before. I was also surprised that during the nail trim, we were asked questions about Chewy's diet and food choices. While I understand businesses may offer additional services or products, I personally felt that the focus at that moment should have remained on carefully completing the nail trim and ensuring our puppy was comfortable and calm. At the end of the appointment, Chewy also left with a noticeable hangnail. We declined the nail buffing add-on service, but even so, I did not expect his nails to be left in that condition after the trim. Overall, this experience left us questioning the level of handling, training, and attention to pet comfort during grooming services. As pet owners, we trust groomers and staff with the safety and well-being of our animals, and unfortunately, this visit did not leave us feeling confident. Because of this experience, we will not be returning with Chewy in the future. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as gentle handling, professionalism, and pet comfort are extremely important, especially with young puppies who are still learning to trust grooming experiences.

If we ever get another puppy, I would definitely consider coming back. Here are some things I would keep in mind if I could do it all over again: Pros: -We got lucky with the timing of when we got our puppy, and were able to get our class package at a discount for Black Friday. -Staff are very friendly and helpful whenever I called in. -I was nervous bringing in our puppy that wasn't fully vaccinated for Puppy Preschool. However, they did a great job keeping up with vaccinations as well as sanitation. -Sudee and Diva were excellent!!! While all 5 instructors that we had were experienced, I think they were the most energetic. I felt that the classes with them were more fun and went by so much faster. -Highly recommend Puppy Preschool. Our Alaskan Malamute was SO shy when we first took him to class. He hid behind the stool and would run away from other puppies that were much smaller than him. By the time he graduated, he was playing with other puppies! The classes also reminded us of all the different things that we needed to socialize/introduce our puppy to. There are so many things that I didn't think of, so I'm glad this class filled the gap. The initial months with our puppy were the most challenging, and these classes did such an amazing job stimulating/wearing him out!!! He would sleep for hours after we brought him back from class, and it was a really nice break for us to regain our sanity. It was also a nice space to ask questions and get reassurance as new puppy parents. All in all, I felt these classes were well worth it and I wish we squeezed in a couple more with our class credits. Cons: -Orientation was not very helpful. It felt like a sales pitch for the larger packages. Once we got home and tried to book online, it was unclear what the different packages were for, and we ended up booking the wrong one. Fortunately, I called in and Walker helped set us up with the correct package. -Our primary goal was to socialize our new puppy in a safe and controlled setting. For this purpose, the 12 credit group classes were more than enough. It felt like a struggle to use up our remaining credits based on the schedule/type of classes. -The website isn't user friendly, but they revamped it so it has improved. -You can't interchange credits for group classes vs playgroups, etc.

On March 28, I placed an order with Petco after confirming all items were listed as available for same-day pickup or delivery. At checkout, I was then told one or more items were suddenly unavailable and would need to be shipped, despite still showing as in stock. As a 100% service-connected disabled veteran with mobility limitations, I don't use delivery for convenience, I use it when it's necessary. I have a service dog and multiple cats, and this order (over $250) was meant to cover an entire month of food and supplies. On a fixed disability income, that's not a small purchase. Delivery was estimated at three days. I allowed for standard delays. But by day six, the order hadn't even been picked up by the carrier. I reached out to Petco and went through multiple rounds of emails over several days. Each response was vague, with no real answers and no attempt to resolve the issue, just repeated statements that they would "look into it." No replacement. No escalation. No solution. Ultimately, I had to resolve it myself by canceling the order on April 7. Because of this delay, I had to go back out and purchase additional pet food while still waiting for answers, something I was specifically trying to avoid due to mobility limitations. And now I must wait 10 business days for a refund to go purchase my original items. The refund issued also did not match the full value of the missing items. My request included four items, but Petco's response referenced only three SKUs, leaving part of the order unaccounted for. Petco often promotes its support for veterans. That support was not reflected here. What makes this more frustrating is that it's not an isolated incident. I've experienced similar shipping and fulfillment issues with Petco before. And like many people, I sometimes end up going back, not because the service is reliable, but because options are limited. That's the reality with large corporations, sometimes they're the only choice, and you hope the experience will be different next time. This time, it wasn't. At a minimum, companies that position themselves around service and support should be able to follow through on basic order fulfillment, or take accountability when they don't.
