Great facility for washing my big dog. She is old and needs extra grip in the tub and they always get me a no slip mat for her. I bring my own shampoo so I cannot speak to the products they supply. The man at the front counter was rude, it was my first time going there due to the soggy doggy being closed that day and I wasn't sure what exactly to do. At the soggy doggy you go back and wash your dog and then pay, here it was different. Once we had our info put in the system and brought our dog back to start washing him we realized that their "shampoo" and "conditioner" was 98% water. I mean I have a large dog and expected to use a decent amount of soap but genuinely the bottle was straight liquid. My boyfriend had to go get our spare puppy soap from the car. We had come here in need of an emergency bath for our dog who had gotten sick in his kennel while we were at work. I just don't think the diluted soaps and rude customer service is worth the drive and money to use a tub big enough for my dog. Especially in having to use our own products that are actual soap. I really wanted to like this place as it had good reviews but I can't understand how! You guys are willingly washing your dogs with just water and being charged for it... weird. I'd also like to add the ginger man at the front counter continuously gave us dirty looks, we have a dog with a LOT of anxiety and we're working hard to make it better for him. All the people and dogs around make him extra nervous and he was being very shy, but seeing as though you work at a dog washing establishment, you'd think he would know how to accommodate those things by now. Overall it was fine. We were able to wash my dog with the provided supplies and resources which was our goal going in. There was 1 employee who was "helping" us that was wildly unattententive and rude. There were no directions posted for us to read anywhere and no verbal directions given from any employees, but they seemed frustrated we didn't know what to do! My dog is new to grooming and I very clearly communicated that at multiple points during our attempted nail trim, the nail trim wasn't important to us and I tried to stop them 2x before actual being listened to. It was very obvious the employee did not care about us or my dog, but just cutting her nails so I intervened. They didn't check on us a single time (We were the only people in there for 60% of our time). We had to ask the other employee for product we pre-paid to use during our service. If you just need to walk in, put your dog in the tub and wash then you'll probably be fine here! The lady doing grooming seemed nicer than the other employee. We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable the whole time. That employee really ruined our experience with their unprofessional and rude behavior so we will not be returning. read more

I was there previously on a busy weekend and paid when I was done- and happily tipped for a wash and I'd groomed my own dog. 1 hr into clipping I was then told that they closed at 6 pm due to winter hours vs 6:30pm (online) so I scrambled to try to finish clipping my dog. Then at 5:30pm, I asked if I could bring my dog back to do his wash and they said they'd have to ask their manager - since grooming is only supposed to be about 45 min. I ended up packing up and leaving without tipping. So I've been debating on going back or not. We stop in about every other month to get our little man all cleaned up, and will continue to bring him as long as we are in the area. The ladies who work are always very friendly and the business is always kept clean. The tubs are well stocked with towels, an apron for your protection, and all kinds of shampoo's, conditioners, and ear cleaners. There is also a blow dryer at every tub as well as a station with brushes and nail clippers. Our first visit went really great! We have a 70 lb German Shepherd and our total was $21 before the awesome Yelp "check in" coupon. They have everything you need to clean your dog, from shampoo, ear cleaner, towels, and brushes, hair dryer, and nail clippers. If you have a white dog, they have special shampoo to help keep them looking crisp! The only reason for 4 stars here is that my dog costs twice as much as a small dog. I feel like bigger dogs costing more is warranted in a lot of ways, but a dirty tub is a dirty tub. The extra amount of shampoo should be negligible as well as the one extra hand towel we used to dry him. We would come back, but less frequently due to the price. I had a disappointing experience at Shampooch. I typically go to another self-service dog wash place, but I happened to be in the neighborhood and I knew Shampooch was in a new space, so I thought I'd try it. The person at the front desk was friendly. I am not sure if it is an airflow issue or what, but there was a damp and unpleasant smell when I walked in. The place was generally pretty clean although there was some dog hair on the floor and in the tub. The biggest issue was that the shampoos and conditioners were completely watered down. I couldn't even get suds or smell the difference between the scents because the ratio of water to product was so high. My dog is cleaner but it didn't feel like a good bath. I suspect we'll need to go get another one soon. read more

The tubs are nice and high, they have little poles to clip your dog's lead, the shower heads are easy to use, they have about 7 different soaps (including dirty dog & flea soap), strong doggie driers AND all sorts of brushes, clippers & shredders for use. Prices seem pretty great (I haven't priced this type of business before): a small dog is $10 to dogs over 100 lbs for about $20. You pay a couple bucks more for long hair. They will wash your dog also: again, really good prices, starting at $20 and going up, depending on the size of your dog & the condition of their coat. GIVEN FOUR STARS: I could give this place a five just for the facilities, and the staff really is great. BUT - I think it's important to know that one of the owners is not confident clipping nails. The taller woman with wavy hair is awesome and fast. The other woman took a long time, didn't trim very well (barely cut anything off) and her discomfort transferred to my dog, who started to get anxious. Don't get me wrong, it's cheap and overall they get a big A - but I'd hate anyone to go in & not have a heads up for potential trouble areas. read more

Very Impressed! I have to first say that I worked in a dog grooming shop for three summers so I pretty much know the drill when it comes to bathing and drying dogs. I usually bathe my dogs at home and use a shopvac to dry them. But we have a german shephard now and I really didn't feel like leaning over the bathtub today and she is shedding her winter coat which would mean a mess out on our patio drying her off. So off to Shampooch we go and I was totally impressed with the whole experience! It was so nice to be able to work on my dog at my height instead of leaning over. They have every kind of brush or comb you'd need. There are plenty of towels on hand and a good selection of shampoos to pick from and even some doggy conditioner. The water temp is preset and perfect, tubs are roomy and have a small, knobby, hand held scrubber to massage and lather up your dog . I'd have given them 5 stars except for two things. The drying tables are covered with tile instead of rubber matting. Which doesn't help when you have a dog that is unsure of their footing on the raised drying table. But I realize that those tiles will outlast rubber matting any day and most people wouldn't even think anything of tile topped tables so it's probably more my problem instead of theirs. The other thing is that since I have a black dog it was hard to see what I was doing when we were drying her and I was facing the front of the store. There was just enough light coming in from outside that I felt like I was working in a shadow. I kept wishing I had an extra overhead light that could be angled from behind me so I could see better. It was nice to leave the mess behind and have someone clean up after us all along the way. We made a mess too, with fur flying everywhere while drying her with the blow dryer. There was no rush and a steady stream of dogs. I was totally impressed with the gal working as she was more than willing to answer any questions and gave us a quick tour after arriving. She was constantly moving around checking in with everyone and cleaning up throughout the facility. We look forward to using them whenever our big dog needs some self-service bathing and drying! This place is so amazing!! We took our dog here because he is VERY energetic. We have never taken him to get groomed before, but his hair always clogs the drain at home and it makes a huge mess. Right when we walked in we were helped and shown where the shampoo and conditioner is. They have shampoo specifically for the face so it doesn't cause tears or burning. They have multiple shampoos and conditioners, and also ear cleaner too!! Our dog was very calm and I could tell he really liked the whole experience. We will be returning in the future!! read more

My dog loves water - loves, loves, loves it. However - mention bath time and my lovable, cuddly dog becomes the "Hound From Hell". The last bath he had at "dog washing establishment " involved the use of a muzzle - and was a very traumatic event for the both of us and the owner of the establishment. Thank god he's not a smelly dog because he only gets a "proper" bath once a year at the most - it's not as gross as it sounds. So any way, we went to Pt. Defiance today - he got in the water and on the ride home he took on the odor of a dead clam. There was no way he was going in the house until I could get him a wash. A thought I wasn't relishing as the last bath was with the garden hose out in the yard , a bottle of shampoo and lots of crying and yelling.(from both me and the dog). Enter Shampooch. I drove directly there from the park. I figure I had the element of surprise on my side when we walked in the door. Immediately, I knew it was going to be alright. The mood was mellow, even though there were several dogs. My dog was on his best behavior and didn't even acknowledge the other dogs. There was a little drama involved in getting him into the tub - but in the end I prevailed and the rest of the bath went of with out a hitch and I know have a good smelling, shiny clean dog sitting at my feet. The price was reasonable - $13.09 to be exact. That price was for a medium sized dog with medium length hair - I had my choice of shampoos to use, a rubber mitt to give my dog a brush down while in the tub, towels, a blow dryer, combs, grooming tools, use of an apron and a couple of dog treats (because he was such a good boy). Was it worth the price? You bet!!! There was no mess for me to clean up and I didn't have to deal with all the hair left in the tub and I didn't have to wash the towels after wards. Will I go back? They provide everything you need for washing your pup -- water, a veritable spice-rack of shampoo options, towels, grooming tools, dryers and whatever else you need... Reasonable prices, though it's not much more expensive to have someone do it for you at a place down the street... Nevertheless, it was a bit of a family bonding experience -- convince the puppy that she's not going to die a watery death while trying to get her more covered in shampoo and water than she can cover you in as she tries with all her might to, well, be anywhere but in the tub... Of course, you could get that at home too, but you wouldn't have tubs that let you stand while doing it all and you wouldn't have built in leash tie-off points at that tub...well, I guess you could, but then you're either really into your dog grooming or you're really into something el..yeah, we'll leave it at that... My dog has been going here for about four years, and I am relunctant to take her anywhere else! Sue has been her groomer the entire time, and my dog absolutely loves her. I have never used the self-service dog wash, but I've only heard great things about it. The only issue is the parking... it is a real mess, especially being that it is on 6th ave. There are only a few spots right out front, which are usually taken due to the local restaurants/shops nearby. I took my husky/shephard mix in to Shampooch for the first time today. The woman working was very friendly and got us started right away, with 4 different shampoos to choose from, a nice coat conditioner, and a face shampoo for the pup's gentle area. They have a lead-in system for clipping your dog in, and water at a just-right temperature for a gentle and comfortable wash. Even though my pooch was nervous, she was welcomed right away and got comfortable in a timely manner. The woman also helped instruct me on proper brushes to use and the best way to trim nails. We used the yelp coupon and saved 2 bucks.! It would've been about 13 dollars for my dog, but I bought her some treats with the 2 dollars I saved on the wash. Needless to say, my dog came out so clean, so soft, and I have no mess to clean up. Brilliant. We will be back. read more

We rushed here after seeing their last wash was at 5:30. I walk in at 5:30 on the dot and the mean curly haired old lady instantly started yelling at me that I was too late to give our dog a bath. The place had a sign right in front of me that they close at six. A full THIRTY MINUTES after I got there. Right after she screamed at me, she turned off all the lights and locked the door. She then continued to act irritated and rude, I finally asked if we should come back another time. Met with more rudeness, I decided to take my business elsewhere. My first thought? A place like this is a godsend for husky owners. . . I've taken each of my three dogs here twice for grooming, mainly because I was too lazy to clean up after them at home. The first time wasn't all too horrible, mainly because my huskies had already blow out most of their coats before coming in. The place is clean, the customer service is SEVERELY LACKING. The first time I took my huskies in, the employee immediately made a comment that really didn't sit well with me, "I always hate this breed, they are always so vocal when being groomed!" If you have an issue working with specific dogs, then maybe you shouldn't be in the business to begin with. . . The second time I brought my huskies in, they were blowing their coats, which means FUR EVERYWHERE! Those of you who know the breed, know it's uncontrollable. . . The lady practically yelled at my husband and I to stop drying our husky because, "nobody what's all that fur in their face!" What do you want me to do lady? Catch every strand of hair that flies in the air? I came here for a reason, to groom my dogs, and dammit, I will groom my dogs! Regardless, I was so out off by their snide comments that I packed my dogs in my car, still wet, paid for a wash that I didn't complete and finishes drying them off at home, where I wouldn't be yelled by a crappy, grumpy employee. Never again going back, and I recommend, if you have dogs who shed many magical fibers of love, you take those fibers and share them elsewhere! read more
