From the start he was very accommodating and he gave wonderful recommendations and advice (since we had no idea what we were doing :P). I am not a very organized and I'm a procrastinator, but Thierry always emailed me when necessary and made sure I was on track with everything (which was not even his job!!!)--it was so sweet and very much appreciated. Even before the wedding, he did a walk through with me at our venue and helped me decide where everything would go (bars, tables, etc) and talked with our reception venue to talk about logistics. On the wedding day, I had no idea that our reception venue was not providing napkins (they only provided the tablecloths) and before I had a chance to freak out because Thierry told me we had no napkins, he had already ordered them and we're having them delivered over as we were speaking. During the reception, the food came out in a timely manner, the wait staff and bartenders were amazing and the food was phenomenal!! I got so many compliments about the food (many people raved that it was the best wedding food they ever had)!! But the greatest was the cake!!!! It is the best cake I have ever tasted. My aunt who usually does not like dessert ate two whole slices of cake! Not only was the food and service amazing, but they are wonderful people who really care about you. Even our other vendors told us that they were by far the best people they have ever worked with--not only did the froggy's staff take care of the guests and the bride & groom, but they took care of all the other vendors as well. THEY ARE AMAZING--you will regret not choosing them as your wedding or special event caterers! SO BOOK AWAY! I added some pictures to the review so you can see for yourself!! The food tasted even better than it looked!! Unfortunately, the photographers didn't get a chance to take pictures of the amazing hor dourves!!

From the beginning Thierry was so easy to talk to and you can really tell he's confident in the quality of his food and the service his staff will provide. We had planned to check out a bunch of caterers but after meeting Thierry at his restaurant, we didn't even bother to go to another meeting. He was very involved during the planning process...getting in touch with the coordinators and the liquor vendor. We all met at the venue about a month before the wedding and Thierry asked the necessary questions to make sure everything would run smoothly on his end, and it did! Not a single hiccup. Look no further, he's your guy!

Honestly, I thought that was just the standard for suburban grocery stores around here. I hadn't even heard of Sunset Foods until a TV commercial popped up the other night. Back in NY, I practically lived at Uncle Giuseppe's, and I've been majorly missing that high-end, Italian-market vibe. The commercial looked legit, so this past Saturday, I figured why not make the drive up to Highland Park and check it out. The second I pulled up, it just felt different. I got a super warm greeting walking in, but what really sold me was this guy outside grilling hot dogs right by the entrance. Honestly, just catching that smell in the weekend air instantly took me back to summers on Long Island. The store itself has a great vibe, really clean and upscale. I hit the cheese section first because the gourmet selection is massive. A really nice staff member saw me looking a bit overwhelmed and helped me pick out a few incredible cheeses. Then I hit the bakery and deli, totally overloading my basket with random finds, including a massive brownie that looked insane, and some awesome cured meats. But the real test was the meat and seafood counter. At Jewel, half the time the meat looks like it's turning brown under the plastic wrap. Sunset is the exact opposite. Everything looked fresh and bright. They were running a sale on salmon, and I picked up a filet that was delicious. Yeah, the register total was definitely higher than what I'd pay at Jewel, but the quality difference is night and day. You get what you pay for. So glad I found this place, it's the closest thing to home I've found yet.

The staff here was absolutely friendly but food-wise, I thought the selection was pretty minimal , Bare Bones and above all a bit overpriced which kind of disappointed my experience here. This place featured plenty of parking as well. Overall, I thought this was an average grocery store to check out.

Brian arrived promptly at 5:30pm as agreed, and over the ensuing five hours, he whipped up a wicked four course meal while we sat back and enjoyed the show. Blackened shrimp with Creole remoloude...finger lickin' good. Jumbo lump crab cake with spiced Dijon lemon vinaigrette...heavenly. Seared baby lamb chops with mascarpone mashed potatoes and rosemary butter cream sauce...saliva inducing. Dark chocolate molten cake with quad berry sauce and lemon vanilla whipped cream...it's so fluffy I'm gonna die! In addition to his ridiculously tasty food, Brian's personality is electric. Talking to a stranger for five hours in your home would normally be awkward, but not with Brian. He had us rolling on the floor laughing with stories from his crazy life and cooking for A-list actors and athletes. He was also very inclusive of us in his cooking...explaining what he was doing all along the way and asking us to taste this and that at each stage of the meal's preparation. We highly recommend Brian for all your cooking and entertaining needs!

I love the amazing presentation across all items I've seen -- many times exceeding what I've ever seen at weddings. They also provide wonderful cards with descriptions and dietary indicators that look great and are very informative. What really stands out here though is the food quality. All the fruits and vegetables I've had, whether it be in a fruit tray, salad, grilled veggies, etc. are top notch. Generally I won't go towards fresh produce when given other options, but Pear Tree has won me over with their absolutely delicious items. Even items such as breadsticks and crackers with a mix of cheese are absolutely delicious, where the commitment to sourcing quality ingredients is evident with every bite. Salads are also incredibly good here, with fresh greens that are nice and crisp and nice juicy tomatoes and other items like cheese, nuts, fruits, etc. that once again show their commitment to top notch ingredients. Overall, I'm glad that we do so much corporate catering with Pear Tree Catering. Employees are genuinely excited every time they bring in delicious food to the office, as they are consistently excellent across the board with all their offerings

The options Maya created were unique and mouthwatering, making it difficult to choose. I appreciated that she kept me within budget while still providing the look, feel, and quality we desired. The beef tenderloin with caramelized onions sliders and veggie sliders were the most popular, with the amazing sauces on both sliders receiving high praise. The rolls used were of perfect consistency--neither mushy nor too hard, perfectly sustaining the contents of the sandwich. My only suggestion would be to have food tent cards describing each sandwich. The selection on the fruit platter was amazing. We ordered plenty for the number of guests we had, but it was so good that several trips were made. The salad was crisp, and the dressings had great ingredients. Maya collaborates with Bent Fork Bakery, and we chose a half chocolate, half white cake which was incredible. Working with Maya was a great experience and her food is delicious. I would highly recommend and use again.

I learned awhile back that if i was going to have 3 kids + a busy job I needed to outsource as much…read moreas possible. I also learned that I lack serious talent in the kitchen (as my kids will tell you) so I've always been on a hunt for different meal plan services to make my life easier and tastier. About a year ago I hired Girl And The Kitchen. I had a long intro call with Mila to discuss our likes, dislikes and nutrition goals and then she assigned us a chef based on our needs. We had our first chef for about a month and knew right away it wasn't a good fit. Her food was beyond salty and then one week she "forgot" to cook for us....and that was the end of that. And then Mila introduced us to Christine who has been cooking for us for an entire year now. Her food is really good (think 95% of her meals have been hits over the past year), she's lovely to menu plan with and extremely flexible. We do a combo of her recipes and ones I find that I gave her and all is great. We look forward to her food every Monday and literally eat it for every lunch and dinner for the week. My kids usually start complaining around Wednesday that they are sick of the 3ish entrees/sides she made so I'll usually make them pasta or a frozen meal at that point, but it works really well for my husband and I all week long. This is probably the priciest of the meal services/chefs I've used thru the years, but also the most customized. It costs $95/hr for the private cheffing fee and I ask her to limit it to 3 hours - or tell me ahead of time if it's going to be longer than that. From there there's a service fee, grocery shopping fee and then it's the cost of groceries. They are also willing to do your grocery shopping while there, but I find it easier just to instacart all the snacks and other items we need for the week. Christine drops the food off every Monday. I know many clients prefer the chefs to cook in their house, but I personally like the drop off service since I'm working from home and already feel like i have too many people in my house on a daily basis. You can also use them to cook for private parties. We've done that once for Passover and the food was great, although it was much pricier than takeout from local restaurants so I'll likely save for special occasions in the future. A big thank you to Christine (and Mila) for keeping us well fed each week! Highly recommend for others looking to eat good, healthy food who also don't have time to spend in the kitchen!
